Debuts:

Debuting this week is the current #1 song on Billboard, country singer Ella Langley with Choosin' Texas. How on earth is this #1? I mean it's a fine country song, but like, it's kinda forgettable. I guess 2026 will be the year of random no-name country artists doing well on pop.

I'm really glad this next song ended up debuting. PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson collab on dance pop banger Stateside. The production is insanely catchy and PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson both sound great together. Hopefully this ends up doing well.

The last debut has grown on me a lot since it debuted hitbound last week. sombr replaces himself on the countdown with Homewrecker. The alt production is really catchy, and even though sombr has weird effects on his voice, he still sounds good.

Countdown Extra: Myles Smith/Niall Horan - Drive Safe

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Tie between Kehlani - Folded and Olivia Dean - So Easy (To Fall In Love) [+6]

Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Tyla - CHANEL [-4]

Last year's #1 song: ROSÉ/Bruno Mars - APT. (6/6 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Tom Grennan - Shadowboxing

Least favorite song last year: Kendrick Lamar/SZA - luther

Most missed song: The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger (2010)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Sofi Tukker/J Balvin - COOK

5 Oldest Songs

  1. KPop Demon Hunters Cast - Golden {30w}
  2. Olivia Dean - Man I Need {22w}
  3. Tate McRae - TIT FOR TAT {20w}
  4. Taylor Swift - The Fate of Ophelia {19w}
  5. Tie between Alex Warren/Jelly Roll - Bloodline, Madison Beer - bittersweet, David Guetta/Teddy Swims/Tones And I - Gone Gone Gone, and Taylor Swift - Opalite {18w}

Pitbull/Lil Jon - Damn I Love Miami [4]

Knox is finally back with new music. He's here with his 12th song on Hits 1 Go For Broke. This is yet another banger from him.

We have 2 random nobodies this week. Bella Kay is here with iloveitiloveitiloveit. Oh god, this reminded me that I Luv It by Camila Cabello was a thing. Honestly, I'd rather listen to Camila Cabello's 'iluvitiluvitiluvit' because at least it was so bad it was kinda good. Bella Kay's song is just boring. The production is painfully generic and Bella doesn't sound that good.

We have our second no-name, Tiffany Stringer with Bullet. Ok, what is up with all the random no-name country songs debuting hitbound these past few weeks? Is 2026 gonna be the year of random no-name country songs? Ella Langley's Choosin' Texas is already #1 on Billboard. Apparently Tiffany Stringer was a kidz bop kid at one point. Bullet is actually pretty good. It's a fun little country song but a bit on the forgettable side.

It's been a hot minute since we've heard from Bebe Rexha. We last saw her in 2023 when If Only I dropped out of hitbound. I Like You Better Than Me is yet another bop from her. The EDM production is super fun, and Bebe sounds great as always.

Oh goodie, we totally needed another forgettable Meghan Trainor song. Get In Girl is actually pretty good. The production is pretty catchy and Meghan sounds good. But I don't think this is as good as Still Don't Care.

Lastly, we have the solo return of Forrest Frank from the duo Surfaces with THANKFUL. This song is pretty fun but a bit on the forgettable side. It's just Forrest singing about what he's thankful for. And apparently this is a Christian song? This might only be the second ever Christian song Hits 1 has picked up on. The only other one I can think of is Lauren Daigle's You Say in 2019. I can't think off the top of my head any other Christian songs Hits 1 has picked up on.

Exits:

  • Louis Tomlinson - Imposter [3]
  • Madison Beer - bad enough [4]
  • NMIXX - Blue Valentine [3]
  • senses - tiptoeing [4]

RIP to Imposter, it deserved better. Hopefully it at least enters the abyss like Lemonade did. bad enough was extremely mid. Blue Valentine was weird. And tiptoeing was a fun little indie rock song, but nothing more.

2026 total dropouts: 34

Estimated total for 2026: 161 (=)

Abyss

Megan Moroney - Wish I Didn't [1] [New]

Bad Bunny - DtMF [2]

Olivia Dean - A Couple Minutes [2]

Zara Larsson - Lush Life [3] [Reentry]

Hilary Duff - Roommates [3]

t.A.T.u. - All the Things She Said [5]

Pitbull/Lil Jon - Damn I Love Miami [5]

MAX/Andy Grammer - The Thing I Love [7]

Nice to see Lush Life is back in the abyss. Just debut already!

Off the abyss:

  • ROLE MODEL - Writing's On The Wall [4]

iblurbitiblurbitiblurbit:

We lost Lover Girl, back to friends, and Changing. Changing was incredibly mid and won't be missed. I wish back to friends could have lasted 1 more week so it could join the 30 week club, but I guess not. Lover Girl was an incredible song that was #2 on my best list for 2025, but it was already faded on me by the time it made the countdown, so I don't mind it left.

YUKON still refuses to leave from #29. Like this is just getting ridiculous at this point.

Just when CHANEL was starting to do something, it fell back down into the bottom 5.

It looks like SIENNA SPIRO is our new One To Watch, so Die On This Hill is not going away anytime soon.

I really thought Aperture would have had a massive jump into the top 5 by now, but I guess not.

Golden becomes the latest song to join the 30 week club since BIRDS OF A FEATHER did it last year.

Uhhhhhhhh.........why did Taylor Swift replace herself at #1 for a third time in a row instead of finally letting Bruno Mars go #1? Opalite barely even has any airplay. How did she manage to replace herself at #1 again? I don't even know anymore. Does Hits 1 has personal beef with Bruno Mars? That's the only explanation I can come up with. Taylor Swift has been #1 the past 12 weeks. We really need to let someone else be #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Last week's poll of the week results:

Best Debut?

  1. Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun: 54.55 % (6 votes)
  2. Noah Kahan - The Great Divide: 18.18 % (2 votes)
  3. Sabrina Carpenter - When Did You Get Hot?: 18.18 % (2 votes)
  4. Nick Jonas - Gut Punch: 9.09 % (1 vote)
