Debuts:

Ugh, I was really hoping this wouldn't debut, but it unfortunately has. SIENNA SPIRO brings her second song on the countdown with The Visitor. I didn't think she could make a song more boring than Die On This Hill, but she somehow has. The production is just some non-existent piano ballad that doesn't evolve at all, and SIENNA's voice is way too annoying. Can we please not let this become a thing?

Hitbound is looking like midbound this week, there's only 2 good songs.

Niall Horan finally has his first solo song on Hits 1 in 3 years with Dinner Party, his last solo song being Science when it dropped out of hitbound back in 2023. This song is incredibly mid. The production is insanely generic and Niall doesn't sound that good. Hopefully the next singles from his upcoming album are better.

RAYE replaces herself with Click Clack Symphony featuring legendary composer Hans Zimmer. This song is pretty cool. This has some interesting production and RAYE sounds great. But this is a bit on the forgettable side and might need a few more listens before it grows on me.

It's been a very long time, but BTS are finally back on Hits 1 with SWIM. It looks like their last song on Hits 1 was Bad Decisions with benny blanco back in 2022 (remember that song?). They were serving in the Korean military, so that's why they haven't been releasing music. SWIM is a big disappointment. The production is insanely generic and the boys sound bored singing. I haven't listened to the new album, so I'm not sure if there's better songs on it.

So Mckayla Twiggs is just straight up stealing artists' song titles now. First she stole from Christina Aguilera, now she's stealing from Sabrina Carpenter. When Did You Get So Hot is a big step down from What a Girl Wants. At least What a Girl Wants had cool production. This is just very basic.

Geeze, The Cab is a name I haven't heard in a long time. If you didn't know, The Cab was a Hits 1 plant back in 2011 who had several songs on the countdown. They're literally back from the dead with their new song Back From the Dead. This song is solid. The pop punk production is pretty fun and singer Alexander DeLeon sounds good.

Ok, we really did not need more Lizzo, and more forgettable crap at that. She's back with Don't Make Me Love U. Eh, this song isn't terrible, but it's not that great either. The production is somewhat upbeat, but it's extremely generic, and Lizzo just sounds decent as well.

Exits:

  • Mckayla Twiggs - What a Girl Wants [4]
  • Bella Kay - iloveitiloveitiloveit [5]
  • Knox - Go For Broke [5]
  • Tiffany Stringer - Bullet [5]
  • RAYE - Nightingale Lane. [3]

iloveitiloveitiloveit finds itself in the abyss. Go For Broke and Bullet were great, but they started to fade on me. And What a Girl Wants and Nightingale Lane were just mid.

2026 total dropouts: 50

Estimated total for 2026: 162 (+6)

Don't make me blurb u:

Just one exit this week, The Fate of Ophelia. It had an amazing run, but it was extremely old and really needed to leave. But part of me wanted it to stay a bit longer because it was really starting to rank in the all-time ultimate rank points.

Welp, rest in piece to Roommates.

Eww, why did DtMF have to jump 8 spots? And Die On This Hill didn't need to jump 6 spots either.

After 23 weeks, bittersweet has finally entered the top 10. This might be one of the slowest climbs to the top 10 in the 30 song countdown era.

So Easy (To Fall In Love) jumped to #2. There's no way this is hitting #1, right? Well, this is Hits 1 after all, and weirder songs have gone #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
