Debuts:

NF is back on the countdown since Time in 2020 with Happy. This has grown on me over the past week. The production is solid and really catchy and NF sounds great.

The Jonas Brothers replace themselves with Waffle House. This is way better than Wings, and it's actually not a song fragment this time. The production is super fun and catchy and the brothers sound great.

Countdown Extra: David Guetta/Anne-Marie/Coi Leray - Baby Don’t Hurt Me

Biggest Jump Of The Week: The Kid LAROI - Love Again (+7)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Kane Brown/Katelyn Brown - Thank God (-6)

Last year's #1 song: Charlie Puth - Light Switch (1/1 week at #1)

Favorite song last year: Blxst/Tyga/Ty Dolla $ign - Chosen

Least favorite song last year: Labrinth/Zendaya - I'm Tired

Most missed song: Pop Smoke/Dua Lipa - Demeanor (2021)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Zak Abel - Dance With You (The Comeback)

5 oldest songs:

5. Tie between Miley Cyrus - Flowers and Coi Leray - Players (13 Weeks)

3. Tie between Metro Boomin/The Weeknd/21 Savage - Creepin' and SZA - Nobody Gets Me (17 weeks)

2. Taylor Swift - Lavender Haze (18 weeks)

1. Sabrina Carpenter - Nonsense (20 weeks)

Hitbound:

Labrinth/Billie Eilish - Never Felt So Alone (Debut)

Post Malone - Chemical (Debut)

JP Saxe - I Don't Miss You (Debut)

Maisie Peters - Lost the Breakup (Debut)

Melanie Martinez - VOID (Debut)

charlieonnafriday/Lil Tjay - Same Friends {3}

Lauren Spencer-Smith/GAYLE/Em Beihold - Fantasy (Debut)

Jessie Murph - Where Do You Go {7}

NF - Happy {SB}

Lewis Capaldi - Wish You The Best (Debut)

Kelly Clarkson - Me (Debut)

Nicki Minaj - Red Ruby Da Sleeze {5}

Fall Out Boy - What a Time To Be Alive {4}

Bazzi - Eyes (Debut)

Drake - Search & Rescue (Debut)

David Guetta/Anne-Marie/Coi Leray - Baby Don’t Hurt Me {2} SOTW

Alright 10 debuts, let's get started!

Good riddance FUMD finally left, but unfortunately we have a much worse song debuting. Two of my least favorite artists, Labrinth and Billie Eilish, have collabed on Never Felt So Alone. Yeah, this one really sucks. The production is super weird and annoying and garbage and Labrinth and Billie Eilish both sound terrible. Please don't let this become a hit like I'm Tired.

On a better note Post Malone is back and this one is a banger, it's Chemical. This is a perfect summer song. The production is super fun and catchy and Post Malone sounds great.

I don't think anyone asked for more JP Saxe, but here he is with I Don't Miss You. This is alright but I think Soft Landing was much better. The production and JP's voice are both alright.

Maisie Peters makes her Hits 1 debut with Lost the Breakup. And oh yes this is a bop. The production is super catchy and reminds me a lot of House On Fire, and Maisie Peters has an incredible voice.

Melanie Martinez finally makes her Hits 1 debut too with VOID. This is super weird but it's still pretty good. The production is pretty interesting and Melanie sounds good.

Next up we have a strange collab of one hit wonders, Lauren Spencer-Smith, GAYLE, and Em Beihold with Fantasy. I was expecting a lot from this song, but this is kinda underwhelming. The production is cool but kinda basic and everyone sounds great.

Lewis Capaldi replaces himself with Wish You The Best. This is a pretty nice ballad from Lewis. The production is decent and Lewis sounds good.

Kelly Clarkson finally makes her return back to Hits 1 after Love So Soft in 2018, with Me. I'm kinda disappointed with Kelly's big return, but this is still alright. The production is alright but Kelly's voice is amazing as always.

Of course Hits 1 has to pick up on every Bazzi song, here he is with Eyes. This actually might be his best song in a while. The production is pretty upbeat and Bazzi sounds good.

Great just what we need, more Drake, he's back with Search & Rescue. This is actually alright. Drake sounds okay and the production is decent.

Exits:

Toosii - Favorite Song {3}

Avery Anna - Self Love {1}

Crash Adams - Give Me A Kiss {3}

Lewis Capaldi - How I'm Feeling Now {4}

Chappell Roan - Kaleidoscope {2}

NOTD/Maia Wright - AM:PM {3}

All Time Low - Calm Down {4}

Doechii/Kodak Black - What It Is (Block Boy) {1}

Amelia Moore/jxdn - FUMD {3}

Favorite Song, Self Love, and Give Me A Kiss enter the abyss. AM:PM and What It Is deserved better. How I'm Feeling Now, Kaleidoscope, and Calm Down were alright. And good riddance to FUMD, it will not be missed.

Abyss:

The Weeknd/Ariana Grande - Die For You (Remix)

Harry Styles - Daylight

Havanna Winter - Death Wish

Morgan Wallen - Last Night

Nicky Youre - Eyes On You

Zara Larsson - Can't Tame Her

Bebe Rexha - Heart Wants What It Wants

Macklemore/Collett - No Bad Days

Toosii - Favorite Song

Crash Adams - Give Me A Kiss

Avery Anna - Self Love

Ava Max - Weapons

The abyss list keeps getting longer and longer...

Waffle Blurbs:

We lost Wings and Too Well. Wings got replaced by a better song from them. And Too Well was amazing and deserved better.

Looks like Mother is flopping. It's been here 5 weeks and hasn't gotten higher than #26.

Sure Thing has grown on me a lot.

Apparently Hits 1 doesn't know what to do with Thank God, it was the biggest jump 2 weeks ago and now it's the biggest drop.

C'mon can Love From The Other Side stop dropping? And can Creepin' do a little more leaving the countdown?

Eyes Closed dropped 3 spots and is out of the top 10 after having a huge 19 spot jump last week. Alright, then.

Love Again entered the top 10. I guess I'm fine with this.

Gracious, how long will Nonsense stay in the top 10?

Hits 1 starting playing the Doja Cat remix of Kill Bill but played the original for the countdown. I really hope they switch because the remix is much better.

The entire top 5 held. I thought Heaven could jump to #2 or even #1 but it's still holding at #3.

Lottery is still getting blocked from #1. I'm fine with this because it's starting to fade on me.

10:35 has been #1 for a lot longer than I thought it would, considering how Hits 1 treats EDM. I wonder how long this can hold #1 before Heaven takes over.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Debuts:

This first song was released in 2010, because we didn't have enough old music. It's Miguel with Sure Thing. This is alright. The production is kina catchy and Miguel sounds alright, but this is kinda forgettable.

Charlie Puth and Dan + Shay are back with That’s Not How This Works. This one's pretty good. The production is pretty catchy and Charlie and Dan + Shay both sound great.

After dropping out of hitbound and being in the abyss for a few weeks, Taylor Swift's All Of The Girls You Loved Before finally debuts. This was recorded in 2019 and was originally gonna be on Taylor's Lover album, but decided to release it until now. This is a fine little song. The production is slow but great and Taylor sounds great.

Countdown Extra: charlieonnafriday/Lil Tjay - Same Friends

All Time Low - Calm Down {4}

Doechii/Kodak Black - What It Is (Block Boy) (Debut)

Amelia Moore/jxdn - FUMD {3}

The Jonas Brothers are back with Waffle House. Luckily this is an actual song this time and not a fragment of a song. The production is really fun and the Jo Bros sound great,

David Guetta's back along with Anne-Marie and Coi Leray with Baby Don’t Hurt Me, and this we have a certified banger alert. This samples the 1993 song What Is Love by Haddaway. The production from David Guetta is fantastic and Anne-Marie and Coi Leray both sound great.

Do we really need more Avery Anna? She's back with Self Love. This is alright. The production is pretty good and Avery sounds alright. I would say this is way better than Narcissist.

NF is back again with Happy. This is alright. NF sounds good but the production is kinda lacking. I think I like Just Like You more.

We have Doechii making her Hits 1 debut, and Kodak Black, with What It Is. I really like this one. The production is really catchy and Doechii and Kodak Black both sound great.

Exits:

Bebe Rexha - Call On Me {1}

Big Boss Vette - Pretty Girls Walk Like This {10}

Patrick Martin - Dandelion Eyes {8}

JVKE - this is what losing someone feels like {3}

Call On Me was amazing and deserved better. Pretty Girls Walk Like This and Dandelion Eyes were great but were getting old, and this is what losing someone feels like sucked.

Abyss:

The Weeknd/Ariana Grande - Die For You (Remix)

Harry Styles - Daylight

Havanna Winter - Death Wish

Morgan Wallen - Last Night

Nicky Youre - Eyes On You

Zara Larsson - Can't Tame Her

Miley Cyrus/Brandi Carlile - Thousand Miles

Bebe Rexha - Heart Wants What It Wants

Macklemore/Collett - No Bad Days

All Of The Blurbs You Blurbed Before:

We lost missin u, this is what heartbreak feels like, and Red Flags. missin u was great and I'm not sure why it flopped. Red Flags was starting to get old so I don't mind it left. And this is what heartbreak feels like was super forgettable.

Eyes Closed got a huge 19 spot boost this week. This isn't the best Ed Sheeran song, but it's still good.

Wings got a huge drop. Waffle House will probably replace it soon.

Is Creepin gonna leave anytime soon?

I'm not sure why Nobody Gets Me is still here, it's been in the bottom 5 of airplay for the past 5 weeks.

RIP Love From The Other Side leaving the top 10. With missin u gone it now goes back to the purple ranking.

I'm not sure why Special keeps dropping as it's getting a ton of airplay.

Nice to see ESCAPISM in the top 10.

Lottery jumped to #2. It's a great song but it is starting to get kinda old.

Looks like 10:35 is still #1 this week, but it looks like Heaven might take the #1 spot soon.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Debuts:

Too Well re-entered. This has faded on me a bit but I still love it and hopefully it can do something this time.

Ed Sheeran's Eyes Closed is a stunningly beautiful track that showcases his vocal prowess and ability to craft powerful, emotive songs. The slow, melodic production creates a dreamlike atmosphere that perfectly complements Sheeran's powerful lyrics and emotive vocals. Throughout the track, Sheeran's voice is simply captivating, effortlessly expressing a range of emotions with ease. Eyes Closed is a must-listen for anyone who loves heartfelt, moving music, and is a testament to Sheeran's incredible talents as both a singer and songwriter.

Countdown Extra: Crash Adams - Give Me A Kiss

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Kane Brown/Katelyn Brown - Thank God (+6)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: RAYE/070 Shake - ESCAPISM. (-6)

Least favorite song last year: Labrinth/Zendaya - I'm Tired

Most missed song: Capital Cities - Kangaroo Court (2013)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Tones And I - I Am Free

3. Tie between Metro Boomin/The Weeknd/21 Savage - Creepin' and SZA - Nobody Gets Me (15 weeks)

2. Taylor Swift - Lavender Haze (16 weeks)

1. Sabrina Carpenter - Nonsense (18 weeks)

Hitbound:

NOTD/Maia Wright - AM:PM {2}

Charlie Puth/Dan + Shay - That’s Not How This Works (Debut)

Amelia Moore/jxdn - FUMD {2}

charlieonnafriday/Lil Tjay - Same Friends (Debut)

Bebe Rexha - Call On Me (Debut)

Chappell Roan - Kaleidoscope (Debut)

Crash Adams - Give Me A Kiss {2} SOTW

Jessie Murph - Where Do You Go {5}

All Time Low - Calm Down {3}

Toosii - Favorite Song {2}

Fall Out Boy - What a Time To Be Alive {2}

Big Boss Vette - Pretty Girls Walk Like This {10}

JVKE - this is what losing someone feels like {3}

Lewis Capaldi - How I'm Feeling Now {3}

Nicki Minaj - Red Ruby Da Sleeze {3}

Patrick Martin - Dandelion Eyes {8}

Charlie Puth and Dan + Shay's collaboration on That's Not How This Works is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates great music. The song boasts a catchy production, and the vocals are on point, with both Charlie Puth and Dan + Shay delivering stunning performances that perfectly complement each other. This is a perfect example of how collaboration can result in something truly magical, and I highly recommend this track to anyone looking for a feel-good, upbeat anthem that will have you singing along in no time!

Charlieonnafriday and Lil Tjay's Same Friends is a perfect example of how trap music can be both catchy and meaningful. The song's infectious beat will have you nodding your head along with the rhythm, while the lyrics explore the complexities of friendship and loyalty. Both Charlieonnafriday and Lil Tjay deliver powerful performances that perfectly capture the emotional intensity of the track. This is a must-listen for anyone who loves trap music and is looking for something fresh and innovative in the genre.

Bebe Rexha's Call On Me is a standout track that showcases her incredible vocal range and impressive songwriting skills. The song's catchy production draws you in from the very beginning, with a pulsing beat and infectious melody that will have you dancing along in no time. Bebe Rexha's vocals are simply amazing, as she effortlessly switches between powerful belts and delicate falsetto notes. Call On Me is a perfect example of what pop music should be: fun, catchy, and full of heart. This is a must-listen for anyone who loves great pop music and wants to experience Bebe Rexha at her very best.

Chappell Roan's Kaleidoscope showcases her impressive vocal range and control, highlighting her potential as a rising star in the music industry. However, the production of the song fails to fully complement her talents, feeling rather bland and unremarkable. While Roan's vocals are captivating, the lack of an engaging arrangement ultimately leaves the listener wanting more. While Kaleidoscope is not without its merits, it falls short in terms of offering a fully immersive and engaging listening experience.

Pretty Blurbs Blurb Like This:

We lost Heart Wants What It Wants and Weapons. Weapons was great but was getting old and Heart Wants What It Wants deserved better but Call On Me is way better and is probably gonna replace it.

this is what heartbreak feels like is somehow jumping despite being second to last in airplay.

I thought missin u would have a bigger jump than +1 since it had a ton of airplay, but I guess not.

Is Nobody Gets Me ever gonna leave? I haven't heard it being played in like a month.

Love From The Other Side finally entered the top 10.

Let's go! 10:35 is still #1. Heaven jumped to #3 and looks to overthrow it soon though, but I don't mind since Heaven is great also.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Debuts:

First up is Lizzy McAlpine with ceilings. This has grown on me a little, but I still don't really like this. Lizzy has a great voice but the production is way too boring for me to get into.

Lastly is Tori Kelly with missin u, finally making her way onto the countdown since Hollow in 2016. This has grown on me a lot and gets the purple ranking. The production is so insanely fun and catchy and Tori has an amazing voice.

Countdown Extra: All Time Low - Calm Down

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Latto/Lu Kala - Lottery (+10)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Metro Boomin/The Weeknd/21 Savage - Creepin' (-5)

Last year's #1 song: Imagine Dragons/JID - Enemy (1/6 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year:  The Chainsmokers - iPad

Least favorite song last year: Labrinth/Zendaya - I'm Tired

Most missed song: AJR - Bummerland (2020)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Linkin Park - Fighting Myself

5 oldest songs:

2. Taylor Swift - Lavender Haze (15 weeks)

1. Sabrina Carpenter - Nonsense (17 weeks)

Hitbound:

Nicki Minaj - Red Ruby Da Sleeze {2}

Ed Sheeran - Eyes Closed (Debut)

Patrick Martin - Dandelion Eyes {6}

NOTD/Maia Wright - AM:PM (Debut)

Crash Adams - Give Me A Kiss (Debut)

beabadoobee - Glue Song {5}

Nicky Youre - Shut Me Up {3} (re-entry)

All Time Low - Calm Down {2} SOTW

Lizzy McAlpine - ceilings {SB}

Fall Out Boy - What a Time To Be Alive (Debut)

Lewis Capaldi - How I'm Feeling Now {2}

Big Boss Vette - Pretty Girls Walk Like This {9}

Amelia Moore/jxdn - FUMD (Debut)

Jessie Murph - Where Do You Go {4}

Toosii - Favorite Song (Debut)

JVKE - this is what losing someone feels like {2}

First up is the most anticipated debut in a while. Ed Sheeran is back with Eyes Closed. This is great but I was kinda expecting more. Ed sounds great but the production is kinda basic and lacking.

Shut Me Up re-entered. Hopefully this can do something this time.

EDM duo NOTD is back along with Maia Wright with AM:PM. They were last seen on Hits 1 with I Wanna Know in 2018 and So Close in 2019. The production is really catchy and Maia has great vocals.

Canadian duo Crash Adams is here with Give Me A Kiss. The production is really fun and their voices are great.

Fall Out Boy just released their new album So Much (For) Stardust, and here they are with What a Time To Be Alive. This song is so amazing I'm gonna let an AI review it for me: What a Time To Be Alive manages to seamlessly blend the band's signature pop punk sound with a catchy and danceable production that is sure to get you moving. From the moment the song begins, you can feel the energy and excitement building. But what really sets this song apart is the amazing vocals from frontman Patrick Stump. Stump's soaring voice is the perfect complement to the energetic production, and his ability to seamlessly switch between his smooth falsetto and gritty lower register is truly impressive. Overall, this song is a standout track from Fall Out Boy's discography, showcasing the band's ability to evolve their sound while still delivering the catchy hooks and powerful vocals that have made them a beloved band for over a decade. If you're looking for a song that will get you dancing and feeling optimistic about the future, look no further than this song.

Newcomer Toosii is here with Favorite Song. This is alright. The production is kinda generic and Toosii sounds ok.

Alright folks, one of the worst songs I have ever heard in my life has entered hitbound. It's FUMD by none other than my archnemesis Amelia Moore along with jxdn. This song is so bad I'm gonna let an AI describe how bad this song is: FUMD by Amelia Moore and jxdn is a song that unfortunately misses the mark on many levels. From the opening notes, the production is immediately ear-rapey, with a jarring electronic beat that is not only grating but also overwhelms the entire mix. The vocal effects on both Amelia Moore and jxdn's voices are also incredibly distracting and off-putting. It sounds like they're trying to mask their natural singing voices with heavy autotune and other effects, which results in a robotic, processed sound that lacks any kind of emotion or authenticity. Lyrically, FUMD is also lacking, with clichéd lines that feel lazy and uninspired. The chorus of "Fuck up my dreams" is repeated over and over again, making the song feel repetitive and one-dimensional. Overall, FUMD is a disappointing effort from Amelia Moore and jxdn. The production is grating, the vocal effects are distracting, and the lyrics are uninspired. While the intention may have been to create an edgy and rebellious track, the end result falls flat and is more likely to leave listeners feeling annoyed than anything else.

Exits:

Benson Boone - Sugar Sweet {2}

Taylor Swift - All Of The Girls You Loved Before {1}

Halsey - Bells in Santa Fe {1}

Mimi Webb - Freezing {2}

Nicky Youre - Found {2}

Sabrina Carpenter - Feather {1}

I was almost certain All Of The Girls You Loved Before would debut the countdown, but it finds itself in the abyss. Freezing was amazing and deserved better. Found got replaced by a better song from him. And the rest I didn't really care about.

Abyss:

The Weeknd/Ariana Grande - Die For You (Remix)

Harry Styles - Daylight

Havanna Winter - Death Wish

Morgan Wallen - Last Night

charlieonnafriday - That's What I Get

Nicky Youre - Eyes On You

Zara Larsson - Can't Tame Her

Macklemore/Collett - No Bad Days

Taylor Swift - All Of The Girls You Loved Before

Reneé Rapp - Too Well

Miley Cyrus/Brandi Carlile - Thousand Miles

Miguel - Sure Thing

Too Well is back in the abyss. Hopefully it can come back.

Thousand Miles by Miley Cyrus and someone named Brandi Carlile entered the abyss. This is alright, but not as good as River.

Great, another old song is becoming popular again. Miguel is here with a song from 2010, Sure Thing. This is alright. The production is pretty catchy and Miguel sounds alright.

So Much (For) Blurbs:

We lost Made You Look and Enough. Good riddance to Made You Puke, it got super annoying. Enough was great but was getting kinda annoying too.

this is what heartbreak feels like is starting to grow on me, so it gets saved from the orange ranking.

Good riddance to Creepin', it's off the survey and starting to drop. This song is getting super annoying and it now gets the orange ranking (sorry HrishK).

Bruh, Nobody Gets Me has only gotten like 14 spins each week the past 3 weeks yet it's somehow still in the top 10.

Love From The Other Side got a huge boost in airplay, hopefully this can reach the top 10 next week.

Special is top 10 in airplay yet it drops 3 spots.

Heaven keeps creeping higher and higher. Can Niall get his first #1 song in 3 years?

Lottery jumped into the top 5. Ok, then.

I've been waiting 3 long years for this. An EDM song is finally #1 again since Come & Go 3 years ago! 10:35 is finally #1, giving Tiesto and Tate McRae their first ever #1 song on the countdown. This song is starting to fade on me a bit but I'm so happy it finally managed to overthrow Flowers from #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

1: Miley Cyrus - Flowers (=) (9 weeks) [peak: 1 x 6 weeks]

Debuts:

Meghan Trainor is here with Mother. This has grown a lot on me since last week. The lyrics are kinda questionable but this song is just so stupidly fun.

Miley Cyrus is here with River. This is way better than Flowers. The production is really fun and catchy and Miley sounds great.

Countdown Extra: Benson Boone - Sugar Sweet

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Niall Horan - Heaven (+13)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Tie between Coi Leray - PlayersMeghan Trainor - Made You Look, and SZA - Nobody Gets Me (-5)

3. Sabrina Carpenter - Nonsense (16 weeks)

2. Meghan Trainor - Made You Look (20 weeks)

1. charlieonnafriday - Enough (21 weeks)

Hitbound:

beabadoobee - Glue Song {4}

Tori Kelly - missin u (Debut)

Benson Boone - Sugar Sweet {2} SOTW

Taylor Swift - All Of The Girls You Loved Before (Debut)

Halsey - Bells in Santa Fe (Debut)

Big Boss Vette - Pretty Girls Walk Like This {8}

All Time Low - Calm Down (Debut)

Lewis Capaldi - How I'm Feeling Now (Debut)

Mimi Webb - Freezing {2}

Jessie Murph - Where Do You Go {3}

JVKE - this is what losing someone feels like (Debut)

Nicki Minaj - Red Ruby Da Sleeze (Debut)

Lizzy McAlpine - ceilings {2}

Nicky Youre - Found {2}

Sabrina Carpenter - Feather (Debut)

Patrick Martin - Dandelion Eyes {5}

Dandelion Eyes is starting to grow on me a lot.

Tori Kelly is back on Hits 1 since 2016 with missin u. Tori has an amazing voice and the production is really catchy.

Taylor Swift's here with an unreleased song from her 2019 album Lover, All Of The Girls You Loved Before. After a couple of listens this song has really grown on me. The production is super chill and Taylor sounds amazing.

Halsey's here...with a random song off her 2021 album? Apparently Bells in Santa Fe was on a show called You. Of course all these Netflix shows bringing back old songs. The song itself is alright. Halsey sounds good but the production just seems kinda empty and underwhelming.

All Time Low released their new album and here they are with Calm Down. Their new album is a banger, but Hits 1 decided to pick up on the weakest song on the album. Calm Down is alright but the production is kinda underwhelming. I wish they could have picked up on The Other Side or Are You There instead.

Lewis Capaldi is back with How I'm Feeling Now. It's a nice little ballad. The production is alright and Lewis doesn't sound bad either.

Yay just what we need, more JVKE. He's here with this is what losing someone feels like. This is actually alright. JVKE is screaming in this one but it's not nearly as ear rapey as this is what heartbreak feels like and the production is alright.

Nicki Minaj is back with Red Ruby Da Sleeze. This song slaps hard. The production is really fun and Nicki sounds great.

Sabrina Carpenter is here with Feather. This is good but not nearly as good as Nonsense. The production is pretty fun and Sabrina sounds good.

Exits:

Reneé Rapp - Bruises {2}

Macklemore/Collett - No Bad Days {2}

Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding - Miracle {1}

Loud Luxury/DVBBS/Kane Brown - Next To You {2}

No Bad Days is in the abyss. Bruises was okay, and Miracle and Next To You deserved better.

Abyss:

Avery Anna - Narcissist

Stephen Sanchez/Em Beihold - Until I Found You (Remix)

The Weeknd/Ariana Grande - Die For You (Remix)

Harry Styles - Daylight

Havanna Winter - Death Wish

Morgan Wallen  - Last Night

Avril Lavigne/Yungblud  - I'm A Mess

charlieonnafriday - That's What I Get

Nicky Youre - Eyes On You

Zara Larsson - Can't Tame Her

Macklemore/Collett - No Bad Days

Blurbs in Santa Fe:

We lost I'm Not Here To Make Friends and Been Thinking. They were both amazing and deserved better. With Been Thinking gone, 10:35 now gets the purple ranking.

Is Made You Puke ever gonna leave?

Good grief Creepin' is getting super annoying. This may be a potential orange song soon.

Nobody Gets Me only got 18 spins last week yet it's still in the top 10 for some reason.

Heaven jumped to #7. Can Niall Horan get his first #1 since No Judgement in 2020?

Kill Bill jumped to #3. I wouldn't mind if this hit #1.

10:35 is blocked yet again from #1. After it jumped to #1 in airplay I was really hoping it would be #1 this week, but Flowers is still #1. Flowers is starting to fade on me so I would really like something else to hit #1 soon.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

1: Miley Cyrus - Flowers (=) (8 weeks) [peak: 1 (5 weeks)]

Debuts:

For goodness sake, we trade in one garbage JVKE song for an even worse one. He's here with this is what heartbreak feels like. This song has really faded on me since it entered hitbound a few weeks ago. Everything about this song sucks. The lyrics suck, the production sucks, and worse of all JVKE's voice sucks. This song contains screaming. Yep, that's right, S C R E A M I N G. JVKE is oversinging way too much here to the point where he's actually screaming. I really hope this song does not last very long.

Next up is a slightly better debut but not by much. Hits 1 decided to replace Gracie Abrams' Where Do We Go Now with her worse song I know it won't work. Sorry Gracie Abrams fans but I know it won't work sucks. This is just way too boring for me to get into. It does start to get interesting towards the end and that saves this song from being total garbage, but it still doesn't help all that much. I wish Hits 1 would have kept Where Do We Go Now, it's so much better.

You know it's a bad week when Jax has the best debut of the week. She's back with Victoria's Secret part 2, Cinderella Snapped. This song has grown on me a lot the past week. This is just a really fun song. The production is really fun and catchy, and while the lyrics are kinda questionable they're not that bad. I know in 6 months I'm gonna regret saying these things when this song is #1 for the tenth week in a row but for now I love it.

Countdown Extra: Jessie Murph - Where Do You Go

Biggest Jump Of The Week: PinkPantheress/Ice Spice - Boy's a liar Pt. 2 (+8)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: The Kid LAROI - Love Again (-4)

Last year's #1 song: Ed Sheeran - Overpass Graffiti (4/5 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Alesso/Katy Perry - When I'm Gone

Least favorite song last year: Imagine Dragons/JID - Enemy

Most missed song: Martin Solveig/Dragonette - Hello (2011)

Recommendation for Hits 1: The Summer Set - Under The Influence(r)

4. Taylor Swift - Lavender Haze (13 weeks)

3. Sabrina Carpenter - Nonsense (15 weeks)

2. Meghan Trainor - Made You Look (19 weeks)

1. charlieonnafriday - Enough (20 weeks)

Hitbound:

Patrick Martin - Dandelion Eyes {4}

Meghan Trainor - Mother (Debut)

Reneé Rapp - Bruises {2}

Macklemore/Collett - No Bad Days {2}

Miley Cyrus - River (Debut)

Lizzy McAlpine - ceilings (Debut)

Mimi Webb - Freezing (Debut)

Nicky Youre - Found (Debut)

Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding - Miracle (Debut)

Gracie Abrams - I know it won't work {SB}

Jax - Cinderella Snapped {SB}

Big Boss Vette - Pretty Girls Walk Like This {7}

Jessie Murph - Where Do You Go {2} SOTW

Benson Boone - Sugar Sweet (Debut)

Loud Luxury/DVBBS/Kane Brown - Next To You {2}

beabadoobee - Glue Song {3}

Welp, this song has been teased for a while and it's finally here. Mother by Meghan Trainor. This samples the 50s song Mr Sandman. The production is alright but I'm not really liking the lyrics, they're too "woman empowerment-y" for me. "I am your mother, you listen to me, stop all that mansplaining". Yeah I'm not in love with this but it is better than Made You Puke.

Miley Cyrus just released her new album, and here she is with River. This is a bop and is way better than Flowers. The synth pop production is really cool and catchy and Miley sounds great.

Lizzy McAlpine makes her Hits 1 debut with ceilings. Sorry Daniel but this kinda sucks. It's one of those songs that takes 2 minutes to get interesting. It does start to pick up towards the last 30 seconds of the song, but the first 2 and a half minutes are excruciatingly boring. Lizzy's voice isn't the best but it's not the worst either. This song is just way too boring to get into.

Mimi Webb released her new album last week and here she is with Freezing. The production while nothing memorable is really solid and Mimi sounds amazing as always.

Nicky Youre replaces himself Found. Shut Me Up was so much better, I'm not sure why Hits 1 felt the need to replace it. Found isn't great but it's still alright. The production is alright but the chorus gets kinda repetitive since he just repeats "found" over and over again.

Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding team up again after 2014's Outside, with Miracle. I think this the first time in awhile or even ever since Hits 1 has picked up on trance music. But I'm glad they did because this song is a banger. The production is really cool and Ellie sounds amazing. I still like their other collabs Outside and I Need Your Love more, but I'm hoping this song can grow on me,

Benson Boone is back with Sugar Sweet, and I'm happy to say Benson finally didn't make a boring song! The production is pretty cool and upbeat and Benson sounds good too.

Nicky Youre - Eyes On You

Zara Larsson - Can't Tame Her

Can't Tame Her entered the abyss. Hopefully it can do something.

this is what heartblurb blurbs like:

We lost golden hour, Evangeline, and Too Well. Good riddance to golden hour, it stuck around way too long. Evangeline was good but not that great. And I'm not sure why Too Well flopped, it was starting to grow on me.

Is Heart Wants What It Wants or Been Thinking ever gonna do anything?

Good grief Made You Puke is getting really annoying. This really needs to leave ASAP.

The top 7 did not move at all. Ok, then.

How is Nobody Gets Me still #4 despite only getting 14 spins last week?

With 10:35 jumping to #1 in airplay I really hoped it could jump to #1 on the countdown too. But alas, Flowers is still #1. Flowers is starting to fade on me so I would really like something else to be #1 next week.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Miley Cyrus (4) - Week Of Mar 4, 2023

Hey guys, what's up? 2 quick announcements. First, Part 2 of the hitbound dropouts rankdown is now open. It won't be hosted by me, it will be hosted by big2000 on Discord. If you aren't on Discord, you can submit your list here and I'll get it to him. https://forms.gle/J4Dnymkn5zSBH3Li9. The list of songs are on there and I'll post the results on my blog. The due date is March 24. Secondly, Bubby is hosting a March Madness, so check that out on his blog https://bunnyfunny382929.blogspot.com/2023/03/2023-march-madness.html.

Debuts:

Halsey is back with Die 4 Me. After the disaster of So Good, I'm happy to say Halsey has finally made a banger. This song is actually just an extension of her verse on Post Malone's 2019 song Die For Me. The production is really cool and Halsey sounds great.

The Jonas Brothers are back after a year with Wings. Really Jo Bros, we're making fragments of songs? This song isn't even 2 minutes long. This song is pretty fun and the Jo Bros sound great, but the song ends right when it gets interesting. Jonas Brothers please stick to normal length music.

Countdown Extra: Nicky Youre - Shut Me Up

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Lizzo/SZA - Special (+8)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Ava Max - Weapons (-8)

Last year's #1 song: Ed Sheeran - Overpass Graffiti (3/5 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Alesso/Katy Perry - When I'm Gone

Least favorite song last year: Imagine Dragons/JID - Enemy

Most missed song: The Ting Tings - Shut Up and Let Me Go (2008)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Owl City - Vitamin Sea

5 oldest songs:

5. Taylor Swift - Lavender Haze (12 weeks)

4. Sabrina Carpenter - Nonsense (14 weeks)

3. Meghan Trainor - Made You Look (18 weeks)

2. charlieonnafriday - Enough (19 weeks)

1. JVKE - golden hour (24 weeks)

Hitbound:

The Kid LAROI - I GUESS IT'S LOVE? (Debut)

Jax - Cinderella Snapped (Debut)

Loud Luxury/DVBBS/Kane Brown - Next To You (Debut)

Big Boss Vette - Pretty Girls Walk Like This {6}

Halsey - Die 4 Me {SB}

beabadoobee - Glue Song {2}

Nicky Youre - Shut Me Up {2} SOTW

Jessie Murph - Where Do You Go (Debut)

Mae Stephens - If We Ever Broke Up {3}

Macklemore/Collett - No Bad Days (Debut)

Gracie Abrams - I Know It Won't Work {2}

24kGoldn - Bite {2}

Miley Cyrus - Flowers (Demo) (Debut)

Linkin Park - Lost {3}

Reneé Rapp - Bruises (Debut)

Patrick Martin - Dandelion Eyes {3}

The Kid LAROI is back with I GUESS IT'S LOVE. I'm not really a big fan of this. The production kinda sucks but The Kid Laroi sounds okay.

Everyone's fav Jax is back with another girl anthem, Cinderella Snapped, because that's just what we needed! In all honestly, this song actually isn't that bad. The production is kinda fun and Jax sounds alright, but the lyrics are kinda questionable. But this is certainly way better than Victoria's Secret.

Loud Luxury is back along with DVBBS (pronounced dubs) and Kane Brown with Next To You. I really love the country EDM production and Kane Brown sounds great.

Can we please not make Jessie Murph a thing? She's back with Where Do You Go. Her voice is terrible, she sounds like a worse Tones And I. But the production is decent, I guess.

Macklemore is back along with Collett with No Bad Days. This is such a banger. The production is insanely fun and catchy and Macklemore and Collett both sound great.

Reneé Rapp is here with her new song Bruises. This is not nearly as good as Too Well. The production is just too boring but Reneé sounds decent.

Last up is one of the most questionable hitbound debuts in Hits 1 history. Miley Cyrus is on hitbound with an instrumental version of Flowers. Ummmmm, okay then? This is not really that great. The production is super boring and Miley sounds really bad and is oversinging in some parts.

Exits:

ROLE MODEL - a little more time {2}

Nessa Barrett - BANG BANG! {2}

Morgan Wallen - Last Night {3}

Jordi - Hate You {13}

charlieonnafriday - That's What I Get {5}

JVKE - this is what heartbreak feels like {2}

Zara Larsson - Can't Tame Her {5}

Last Night, That's What I Get, and this is what heartbreak feels like find themselves in the abyss. Good riddance to Hate You, I don't know why Hits 1 was trying to push this. Can't Tame Her was amazing and deserved better. And a little more time and BANG BANG were alright.

Avery Anna - Narcissist

Stephen Sanchez/Em Beihold - Until I Found You (Remix)

P!nk - Never Gonna Not Dance Again

Lonnie - One Night Stand

The Weeknd/Ariana Grande - Die For You (Remix)

Havanna Winter - Death Wish

Harry Styles - Daylight

Morgan Wallen - Last Night

charlieonnafriday - That's What I Get

JVKE - this is what heartbreak feels like

Nicky Youre - Eyes On You

Cinderella blurbed:

We lost Where do we go now and uh oh. It's a shame Where do we go now flopped, it was starting to grow on me. And good riddance to uh oh, it lasted way too long.

Sorry Love From The Other Side, but Been Thinking has really grown on me so it now gets the purple ranking.

Good gracious, it looks like golden hour will finally leave soon.

Made You Puke is actually starting to get really annoying, this really needs to leave soon.

Creepin is starting to get really annoying and luckily it keeps dropping, good.

It took 2 months, but ESCAPISM has finally seen the top half of the countdown.

I'm Not Here To Make Friends made a nice jump into the top 10.

Looks like Lavender Haze got blocked from #1. Good, get this out of here.

10:35 jumped up to #2. I would really like for this to reach #1 and not get blocked.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
