Debuts:

Everyone's favorite Olivia "Goddess" Dean has returned to the countdown this week with Man I Will. I will say this is a big step up from Nice To Each Other. This has some pretty groovy production and Olivia sounds great here. But this song is just too damn forgettable. Hopefully this song does something instead of just rotting in the bottom 5 spots its entire countdown run.

Great just what we needed, another Ed Sheeran power ballad. He's here with Camera. Yeah this is not interesting to listen to at all. The production is alright, I guess, but it's just extremely boring. Let's hope this doesn't stick around for long, but it's Ed, so it will.

Countdown Extra: Demi Lovato - Here All Night

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Conan Gray - Vodka Cranberry [+5]

Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Tie between Alex Warren - Ordinary and sombr - back to friends [-5]

Last year's #1 song: Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe! (1/2 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Haiden Henderson - sweat

Least favorite song last year: Camila Cabello - GODSPEED

Most missed song: Avril Lavigne/Nicki Minaj - Dumb Blonde (2019)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Pitbull/Lil Jon - Damn I Love Miami

Oh wow, 10 debuts/reentries, let's get started then!

The Chainsmokers are back after a year with Smooth. Mikey compared this to Something Just Like This, and I can kinda see that. The production feels very nostalgic and it has a nice drop. Let's see if this ends up becoming a hit.

Oh nice, I was not expecting Hits 1 to ever pick up on this next song, but I'm very glad they finally did. I guess 3 months is better late than never. Laufey returns to hitbound with Lover Girl. Yeah, this song is nothing short of amazing. The jazz samba production is a weird combination but it works really well, and Laufey's voice is amazing. Can this please debut the countdown and not get robbed like Tough Luck did?

This is a very weird collab. Miley Cyrus has collabed with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood from Fleetwood Mac with Secrets. This song is alright. The 80s style production is a bit slow and generic and Miley just sounds alright. But luckily this isn't nearly as annoying as End Of The World was.

Oh great, we definitely needed these 2 people back. FINNEAS and Ashe created a band called The Favors, and they debut this week with David's Brother. This song actually isn't that bad. The production is pretty upbeat, and the 2 of them sound good here. This is neither of these artists' best songs, but it's far from their worst.

This next song sounds like something Hot AC would eat up hard. but not something that should be on Hits 1. Alexander Stewart and Lauren Spencer Smith have collabed on Friends Don't. Yeah, this is forgettable as hell, and I'm not really sure why Hits 1 felt the need to pick up on this.

We have more Madison Beer after a year with yes baby. Apparently she's just turned to EDM music now, like Demi Lovato. This is alright. The EDM production is pretty cool, but this just feels like a carbon copy of 15 Minutes from last year.

We have more RAYE with WHERE IS MY HUSBAND after Oscar Winning Tears and Born Again flopped hard earlier this year. This song is really good. The production is really fun and RAYE's voice is amazing as always. Hopefully this ends up being a hit.

Why did she got a thing about her reenter? And why after 9 weeks is Hits 1 still calling it "she got a thing about"?

Ok we really did not need more Lewis Capaldi. He's here with Something In The Heavens. Yeah this song is garbage. The production is just way too slow and Lewis sounds like a cross between a dying dog, a dying frog, a dying horse, a dying guinea pig, and a dying whale. At least Survive is somewhat tolerable. This is just complete garbage. Let's hope this doesn't debut but it almost certainly will.

Everyone's favorite Hits 1 plant People R Ugly are back with WAKE UP. This is a fun little bop, but it's not nearly as good as BETTER.

  • Conan Gray - Caramel [5]

12 to 12 is in the abyss so hopefully it debuts soon. I wish BOOMBAYAH could have lasted longer than 1 week but whatever. And nothing else will be missed.

Where are my blurbs?

We lost Just Keep Watching for a second time and Blue Strips. Just Keep Watching was a great song but I don't think it deserved to reenter in the first place. And good riddance to Blue Strips. It was complete garbage and stuck around way too long. It will probably end up being #1 on my worst list this year unless a worst song comes out.

With Blue Strips gone, party 4 u returns to being my orange song 4 months later. Can this song just die already?

The Dead Dance has grown on me a lot and becomes my purple song.

I thought Tears would jump into the top 5 this week but I guess not. It probably will next week.

The entire top 8 didn't change at all...

undressed is #1 yet again for a 6th week in a row. I only see one, maybe 2 more weeks at #1 until Tears eventually takes over the #1 spot.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
