10k Pageviews Special

Hello and welcome to my 10k pageviews special! I just wanna say thank you to everyone who reads and comments on my blog. It means so much to me that you guys enjoy reading my posts, and I enjoy making them. When I created this blog 4 months ago, I didn't think I would ever reach 10k views, let alone surpass it. I know I hit 10k pageviews about a month ago, and I was gonna review the new Panic At The Disco album for that, but after listening to the album, it kinda sucked, and I did not want to review 12 songs that sounded exactly the same. Then college started and I got busy. But now I'm caught up with my schoolwork and had some free time, so I thought of new 10k special. I'm going to review the AT40 countdown for the week I was born, March 14, 2000. I wanted to review a Hits 1 countdown, but they didn't exist in 2000, so I decided to just review the AT40 countdown. Before continuing, I would suggest watching the above video I made of all the songs on the countdown, so you can at least get a snippet of them. Alright, enough rambling, let's get started!

Songs falling off:

Brian McKnight - Back At One (#18)

Foo Fighters - Learn To Fly (#36)

Counting Crows - Hanginaround (#38)

1. NSYNC - Bye Bye Bye (↔)

Ah yes, Hunter's favorite song. The #1 song on the countdown, and easily the best song here. A really amazing song from NSYNC. Justin Timberlake and company sound great, and the production is super cool.

2. Backstreet Boys - Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely (↔)

The first of many boring ballads on this list.

3. Celine Dion - That's The Way It Is (↔)

Amazing song from Celine Dion, with a really good key change at the end.

4. Christina Aguilera - What A Girl Wants (↔)

Solid song from Christina, but is kinda boring.

5. Savage Garden - I Knew I Loved You (↔)

A really boring ballad.

6. Third Eye Blind - Never Let You Go (↔)

Super cool pop punk song.

7. Blaque/NSYNC - Bring It All To Me (↔)

Solid R&B song, but not that interesting.

8. Lonestar - Amazed (↑4)

Really boring country song.

9. Blink-182 - All The Small Things (↑1)

Ah yes, the song that Hits 1 randomly plays sometimes. Super cool pop punk song from Travis Barker

10. Sonique - It Feels So Good (↑4)

Solid dance song, but not that interesting.

11. Sugar Ray - Falls Apart (↓2)

Really cool alt rock song.

12. Santana ft. Product G&B - Maria Maria (↑5)

Recognize this one? DJ Khaled sampled this on Wild Thoughts. The guitar from Santana is good, but the rest of the song isn't that interesting.

13. Santana & Rob Thomas - Smooth (↓2)

The guitar from Santana is really cool and Rob Thomas sounds amazing as always.

14. Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee) (↓6)

Recognize this one? David Guetta sampled this one with I'm Good (Blue). A really cool electronic song.

15. Madonna - American Pie (↑1)

Solid but kinda boring song from Madonna.

16. Kid Rock - Only God Knows Why (↑3)

Kinda boring at first and there's way too much autotune on Kid Rock's voice, but the song gets way better towards the end.

17. Vertical Horizon - Everything You Want (↑3)

Solid alt song but kinda boring.

18. Smash Mouth - Then The Morning Comes (↓5)

Smash Mouth never disappoints. This one is super fun.

19. Faith Hill - Breathe (↑2)

Starts out as a boring country song, but picks up around the chorus.

20. Filter - Take A Picture (↓5)

The alternative production is interesting but kinda boring.

21. Macy Gray - I Try (↑2)

You might recognize this one, Shaylen covered this with Goodbye. Super nostalgic with a really good key change at the end.

22. Destiny's Child - Say My Name (↑2)

Back when Beyonce was still in Destiny's Child. A super nostalgic song.

23. TLC - Dear Lie (↓1)

Wow, what a snoozefest, I think I fell asleep listening to this.

24. Jennifer Lopez ft. Fat Joe & Big Pun - Feelin' So Good (↑3)

This one was kinda boring and not that interesting.

25. Creed - Higher (↑5)

I usually like rock, but this one is very boring.

26. Amber - Sexual (Li Da Di) (↓1)

I love late 90s and early 00s electronica, and this is no exception. The production is super fun, and while Amber doesn't sound great, she isn't too bad either.

27. Marc Anthony - You Sang To Me (↑4)

A solid ballad, but nothing special.

28. Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch (↑5)

This one was extremely sexual, but it's stupidly fun.

29. Ricky Martin ft. Meja - Private Emotion (↑3)

The production's pretty cool and Ricky Martin sounds great.

30. Montell Jordan - Get It On Tonite (↑4)

This one was pretty catchy.

31. Jessica Simpson ft. Nick Lachey - Where You Are (NEW!)

This one was extremely boring, but Jessica sounded pretty good.

32. Mandy Moore - Candy (↓6)

This one was pretty fun.

33. Mariah Carey ft. Joe & 98 Degrees - Thank God I Found You (↓5)

This one was really bad. It was super boring, and the music is way too loud and the vocals are way too quiet, I could barely hear them singing.

34. Hoku - Another Dumb Blonde (↑5)

This song was pretty fun and Hoku sounds great.

35. Britney Spears - From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart (↓6)

C'mon Britney, you can do better than this! A really boring ballad from her, but Britney sounds great as always.

36. Enrique Iglesias - Rhythm Divine (↓1)

Solid chorus and vocals from Enrique.

37. Lenny Kravitz - I Belong To You (↑3)

Super catchy chorus and good vocals from Lenny Kravitz.

38. Westlife - Swear It Again (NEW!)

Just another generic ballad, but the group does sound pretty good.

39. Enrique Iglesias - Be With You (NEW!)

Solid chorus and Enrique sounds really good.

40. Bosson - We Live (↓3)

The production is pretty upbeat but nothing special, and the group sound pretty good.

I guess that's it for my 10k pageviews special. Thanks so much for reading my blog, it means so much to me. Bye for now!

Charlie Puth (1) - Week Of Sep 24, 2022

Hey guys, what's up? We went from the most boring countdown of the year last week to one of the strangest this week. Some questionable exits and re-entry, one of the biggest falls from #1 I've seen, and a new #1 song!

1: Left And Right - Charlie Puth/Jungkook (+1) (13 weeks) [peak: 1 (1 week)]

Countdown Extra: TWO SUGARS - Tai Verdes

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Tie between Betty (Get Money) - Yung Gravy and Hold Me Closer - Elton John/Britney Spears (+8). Happy both these songs got such big jumps.

Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Late Night Talking - Harry Styles (-14). Oof, I did not expect to see this drop so hard after being #1, especially how much Hits 1 stans Harry, but I'm not complaining.

Last year's #1 song: STAY - The Kid LAROI/Justin Bieber (3/6 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Sheesh! - Surfaces/Tai Verdes

Least favorite song last year: Cold Heart (Remix) - Elton John/Dua Lipa/PNAU

Most missed countdown song: Don't You Worry Child - Swedish House Mafia (2013)

Most missed hitbound dropout: WALK THE MOON - Anna Sun (2012)

5 oldest songs:

1: Sunroof - Nicky Youre/dazy (24 weeks)

2: About Damn Time - Lizzo (23 weeks)

3: Bones - Imagine Dragons (23 weeks)

4: Maybe You're The Problem - Ava Max (21 weeks)

5: Late Night Talking - Harry Styles (17 weeks)

Debuts:

Until I Found You is back for some unknown reason, even though it got barely any airplay. This song actually joins a very rare club of songs that entered/re-entered the countdown 3 different times. There's only 3 other songs I could find, Alex Clare - Too Close, Imagine Dragons - It's Time, and Harry Styles - Watermelon Sugar. I believe those are all, but please let me know if there's more. Anyways, I still like this song, so I'm glad it's back, even though it makes no sense.

JVKE scores his first song on the countdown with golden hour after This Is What Falling In Love Feels Like dropped out of hitbound a few months ago. After hearing this song a few times on Hits 1, I've warmed up to it a bit. The production is super weird, but kinda vibey, and JVKE doesn't sound too bad.

Lewis Capaldi is back after 2 years with Forget Me. This is certainly way better than his other hits Someone You Loved, Before You Go, and Hold Me While You Wait. The production is good and upbeat. Lewis sounds a little scraggly, but it doesn't hurt the song too much.

Now the best song for last. I thought this song was gone forever after it left hitbound last week, but here it is. It's I’m Good (Blue) by David Guetta and Bebe Rexha. This song is such a banger. It samples the 1998 hit Blue Da Ba Dee by Eiffel 65. The production from David Guetta is incredible and Bebe's voice is amazing too.

Hitbound:

Staying Alive - DJ Khaled/Drake/Lil Baby

Best Friends - 5 Seconds of Summer (Debut)

Common - Quinn XCII/Big Sean (Debut)

HEARTFIRST - Kelsea Ballerini (Debut)

STAR WALKIN' - Lil Nas X (Debut)

Unholy - Sam Smith/Kim Petras (Debut)

Sex, Drugs, Etc. - Beach Weather (Debut)

29 - Demi Lovato

Evergreen (You Didn't Deserve Me At All) - Omar Apollo (Debut)

I'm Not Dead Yet - Mike Posner (Debut)

Heaven to Me - Havanna Winter (Debut)

Tripping Over Air - Aidan Bissett

Wrapped Around Your Finger - Post Malone

TWO SUGARS - Tai Verdes

I Remember - Cheat Codes/Russell Dickerson

BILLIE EILISH. - Armani White

5SOS just released their new album 5SOS5, and Hits 1 picked up on Best Friends. This one's pretty upbeat and fun. This is way better than Complete Mess and Me Myself & I.

Quinn XCII is back after 2019's Love Me Less, which I did not really like, so I wasn't super excited that he was back. But this one's actually pretty good. He teams up with Big Sean for Common. Is it just me, or does this sound very similar to sheluvme by Tai Verdes? Anyways, the production's pretty good and Quinn and Big Sean sound good.

Kelsea Ballerini's back with HEARTFIRST. This song sounds very similar to Taylor Swift's old country songs in the late 2000s and early 2010s, Kelsea even sounds very similar to Taylor. I really like the country pop production and Kelsea sounds great.

This next song is incredible. It's STAR WALKIN' by Lil Nas X. The production is fantastic, and Lil Nas sounds great and his flow is incredible.

I guess this next song is the sequel to Holy by Justin Bieber, it's Unholy by Sam Smith and Kim Petras. Now Sam has a reputation of being Snoozefest Sam. They make some incredibly boring songs. But this song is anything but boring. The production is super weird, but it kinda slaps. Sam sounds really good here, and Kim doesn't sound too bad either.

Next is someone named Beach Weather with Sex, Drugs, Etc. Apparently they're popular on alt radio, which I don't listen to. This one's alright. The production is just your generic alt song, but their voices sound pretty good.

After the last song, I didn't think we could possibly get a weirder song, but then this song came up. It's Evergreen by Omar Apollo. Yeah, this song really sucks. I looked up this song and it's apparently an alternative/indie/R&B/soul/hip-hop/afrobeats song, which I think describes this song perfectly. This song is just super weird. The production is boring and Omar sounds really bad.

Havanna Winter replaced herself with Heaven to Me. This one really sucks. Rain Rain Go Away was so much better. The production is super boring and Havanna does not sound good at all.

Mike Posner's back baby, and it's a banger! We last saw Mike in 2016 with I Took A Pill In Ibiza, although he did have a hitbound dropout last year with Mamma Always Told Me, which was pretty good. I'm Not Dead Yet is basically a sequel to I Took A Pill In Ibiza, because they both mention "sad songs". I really like the production here. It's kinda AJR-y with the trumpets, which I love. And Mike's voice is great as always. Super excited that Mike Posner is back. Cooler Than Me and Please Don't Go in 2010 were bangers, as well as I Took A Pill In Ibiza in 2016.

Exits:

curious/furious - WILLOW

Run Away to Mars - TALK

Smells Like Me - Charlie Puth

sun and moon - anees

Sting - FLETCHER

fmk - GAYLE/blackbear

rain rain go away - Havanna Winter

Dutton Ranch Freestyle - David Morris

I'm really sad that Dutton Ranch Freestyle is gone, but the rest weren't that great.

Abyss:

Unstoppable - Sia

Bad Decisions - Benny Blanco/BTS/Snoop Dogg

Die For You - The Weeknd

Power (Remember Who You Are) - SPINALL/Summer Walker/DJ Snake/Äyanna

MANIAC - Macklemore/Windser

Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush 👵

Wasted On You - Morgan Wallen 🤠

WAIT FOR U - Future/Drake/Tems

BREAK MY SOUL - Beyoncé

Bigger Than Me - Louis Tomlinson

Easy Lover - Ellie Goulding/Big Sean

Come Back Home - Sofia Carson

SNAP - Rosa Linn

I'm Good (Blurb):

We lost Bigger Than Me, SNAP, Devil Doesn't Bargain, and Easy Lover. Devil Doesn't Bargain was terrible, so I'm glad it's gone. I guess Hits 1 doesn't stan Louis Tomlinson as much as Harry, since Bigger Than Me only lasted 2 weeks. SNAP was great and deserved better. Apparently Easy Lover is getting pulled from mediabase, so that's why it's gone, but I wished it could have lasted at least a little while longer.

C'mon,  was dropping in airplay last week, and it jumped 3 spots 😠.

About Damn Time really needs to leave soon before I hate it.

Why did Bones and So Good both jump, they're both super old and annoying.

Sunroof is finally out of the top 5. I guess this means summer is finally over soon.

I Like You, I Ain't Worried, and MFASR both jumped into the top 5. I Like You isn't a bad song, but it's just gotten super overplayed and got kinda annoying. I really want I Ain't Worried to hit #1, but we all know who's really going to hit #1!🤡

Ha ha! Harry The Clown fell 14 spots from #1! That's actually not the biggest fall from #1 in Hits 1 history. That belongs to Fall Out Boy - Alone Together, which fell 22 spots from #1.

Yay, I'm so happy that Left And Right finally hit #1. This song has gotten a little old after hearing it so much, but I still love it. I'm just glad any song that's not by Harry is #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Video - Black Eyed Peas AT40 History

Something a little different. AT40 history of the Black Eyed Peas, including will.i.am and Fergie, instead of Hits 1. I decided to use AT40 because they have a lot of old songs that Hits 1 didn't have.

Video - Fall Out Boy Hits 1 History

Hits 1 history video for Fall Out Boy from 2006 - 2020. I decided to use songs before 2011, but those will have incomplete data.

Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Maybe You're The Problem - Ava Max (-6). With Million Dollar Baby debuting, this song's probably on its way out.

Last year's #1 song: STAY - The Kid LAROI/Justin Bieber (2/6 weeks at #1)

Least favorite song last year: Way 2 Sexy - Drake/Future/Young Thug

29 - Demi Lovato

Wrapped Around Your Finger by Post Malone is back after leaving the countdown a few months ago. I'm glad this is back, it's way better than I Like You.

What is this, a good Tai Verdes song? He's back with TWO SUGARS. This is way better than sheluvme. It's super fun and Tai actually doesn't sound annoying for once.

Next up is Tripping Over Air by someone I've never heard of Aidan Bissett. It's a decent pop punk song, but nothing special.

blackbear has his millionth hitbound song, fmk with GAYLE. blackbear and GAYLE sound alright but the production's kinda boring.

Exits:

Emotional - Ashe

I'm Good (Blue) - David Guetta/Bebe Rexha

All She Wanna Do - John Legend/Saweetie

Forget Me - Lewis Capaldi

Forget Me is in the abyss. I'm Good is yet another robbed EDM song. And the rest weren't great.

I bite my blurb, it's a bad habit:

No exits this week, even though a lot of songs deserved to leave.

Nooooooo, World’s Smallest Violin dropped!

⛪ needs to leave immediately.

Ewwwww, So Good's in the top 10.

No, Numb dropped. Please Hits 1, stop screwing over EDM.

2 Be Loved does not deserve to be so high. It's getting really overplayed and annoying.

Really, Left And Right couldn't jump to #1? This song isn't great, but I'll gladly take literally any song besides Harry at #1.

Ewwwwwwwwwww, Harry The Clown is still #1! Get this garbage out of here!!!

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Most missed hitbound dropout: Miss America - Jax (2011)

Debuts:

Louis Tomlinson's back after 2 years, with Bigger Than Me. This song's fine, but not super memorable. Don't Let It Break Your Heart was way better.

Ava Max has a second song on the countdown with Million Dollar Baby. This is way better than Maybe You're The Problem. This samples Can't Fight The Moonlight by LeAnn Rimes. This song's super fun and way less annoying than Maybe You're The Problem.

Hitbound:

29 - Demi Lovato

Staying Alive - DJ Khaled/Drake/Lil Baby (re-entry)

Emotional - Ashe

I'm Good (Blue) - David Guetta/Bebe Rexha (Debut)

Dutton Ranch Freestyle - David Morris (Debut)

All She Wanna Do - John Legend/Saweetie

I Remember - Cheat Codes/Russell Dickerson

Smells Like Me - Charlie Puth (Debut)

sun and moon - anees

golden hour - JVKE

Forget Me - Lewis Capaldi (Debut)

rain rain go away - Havanna Winter

curious/furious - WILLOW (Debut)

Run Away to Mars - TALK

BILLIE EILISH. - Armani White

Sting - FLETCHER (Debut)

Did Staying Alive really need to re-enter? I'm fine with it, I guess.

Yes, this next song is amazing and I'm glad it finally entered hitbound. It's I'm Good by David Guetta and Bebe Rexha. This samples Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65. The sample sounds amazing and Bebe Rexha sounds great.

When I saw a country rap song entered hitbound, I was not thrilled. Then I heard it and it was better than I expected. It's Dutton Ranch Freestyle by David Morris. The production is really cool and David Morris' rapping sounds great.

Charlie Puth's back with Smells Like Me. The production isn't super memorable, but Charlie sounds great.

Lewis Capaldi (or the Pencil Sharpener according to Waffle) is back after 2 years with Forget Me. I absolutely despised Someone You Loved, Hold Me While You Wait, and Before You Go, so I was not happy he was making new music. This song's good, but not great. The production is upbeat but forgettable, and Lewis Capaldi still sounds like a pencil sharpener.

WILLOW's back with curious/furious. This one's alright. It's just not that interesting and WILLOW's oversinging a bit in some parts. Transparent soul from last year was better.

Do we really need more Fletcher, she kinda sucks. She's back with Sting. Becky's So Hot was super forgettable, and this is somehow even more forgettable. The production isn't that interesting and Fletcher sounds boring.

Exits:

Heaven - Bazzi

dead inside - blackbear

Cross Your Mind - ROLE MODEL

None of these songs were that great, so I'm not that sad they're gone.

Unstoppable - Sia

Bad Decisions - Benny Blanco/BTS/Snoop Dogg

Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush 👵

Come Back Home - Sofia Carson

Don't You Worry - Black Eyed Peas/Shakira/David Guetta

MANIAC - Macklemore/Windser

Million dollar blurbs:

We lost Break My Soul and Are You Entertained. Break My Soul got super annoying and Are You Entertained wasn't that great, so I'm glad they're gone.

Did Devil Doesn't Bargain need to jump 5 spots? This song really sucks.

Easy Lover finally entered the top 10.

It seems like I Like You (A Happier Song) got played every five minutes last week, yet it dropped 2 spots.

Did the 🤡 really need to be #1 again this week? Hopefully with Left And Right jumping to #2, it can dethrone it next week.

Bye for now, see you all next week.

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Super Freaky Girl - Nicki Minaj (+9). Sorry Trey, but this song is really good.

Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Grand - Kane Brown (-8). This song kinda sucks, it didn't deserve to debut so high in the first place.

Last year's #1 song: Bad Habits - Ed Sheeran (5/5 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Another Song About Tequila - Tequila Mockingbrd

Least favorite song last year: Need To Know - Doja Cat

Most missed countdown song: 1, 2, 3 Turn Around - Christian TV (2009)

Least missed countdown song: Dancing With A Stranger - Sam Smith/Normani (2019)

Most missed song Hits 1 never picked up: Money On My Mind - Sam Smith (2014)

Debuts:

Britney Spears makes her way onto the countdown in the first time in 9 years, since 2013's Work Bitch. It's Hold Me Closer with Elton John. This song samples Tiny Dancer by Elton John. I was kinda disappointed when I first heard this, but I've grown into a little bit. This is way better than Cold Heart.

Next is Calm Down by REMA and Selena Gomez. I don't really like afropop, but this one's alright. REMA doesn't sound nearly as bad as CKay, and Selena basically saves the song.

Next is SNAP by Rosa Linn. This song is kinda fun, and Rosa Linn sounds really good.

Blackpink is back after 2020's Ice Cream, with Pink Venom, or Pink Vomit as other people call it. I actually really like this one. The production is really strange and all over the place, but it's super fun.

Lastly, we have a really strange debut. AJR replaced themselves from a song they just released with a song they released a year ago. I'm actually really happy, because World’s Smallest Violin is 1000x better than I Won't. This song is super fun, and it might be my favorite AJR song.

Hitbound:

29 - Demi Lovato

All She Wanna Do - John Legend. Saweetie (Debut)

Emotional - Ashe

Hold Me Closer - Elton John, Britney Spears (SB)

rain rain go away - Havanna Winter

Calm Down (Remix) - REMA, Selena Gomez (SB)

Run Away to Mars - TALK

BILLIE EILISH. - Armani White (Debut)

Cross Your Mind - ROLE MODEL

John Legend is back after his hitbound dropout Dope a few months ago, with All She Wanna Do with Saweetie. The production is kinda basic, but John and Saweetie sound pretty good.

Ava Max is back with Million Dollar Baby. This song samples Can't Fight The Moonlight by LeAnn Rimes. This song is way better than Maybe You're The Problem. This song is super fun and Ava sounds great.

Louis Tomlinson is back on Hits 1 after Don't Let It Break Your Heart in 2020 with Bigger Than Me. I'm kinda underwhelmed by this song. The production's kinda boring but Louis sounds alright.

Ewwwww, did we really need more JVKE? He's back after the failure of This Is What Falling In Love Feels Like, with golden hour. TIWFILFL was super strange, but this song is even stranger. The production here is kinda all over the place and JVKE doesn't sound that good.

We have another strange song. It's Billie Eilish. No, not a song by her, it's the title to a song from Armani White. The production is strange, the lyrics are strange, and Armani White's voice is strange.

Exits:

Come Back Home - Sofia Carson

MANIAC - Macklemore, Windser

Last Last - Burna Boy

All the Things I Hate About You - Huddy

Come Back Home is in the abyss, and the rest I don't really care for.

Abyss:

Unstoppable - Sia

Bad Decisions - Benny Blanco, BTS, Snoop Dogg

Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush 👵

Come Back Home - Sofia Carson

WAIT FOR U - Future, Drake, Tems

Die For You - The Weeknd

Can't Stop Us Now - Pitbull, Zac Brown

World's smallest blurbs:

We lost Don't You Worry, When You're Gone, Until I Found You, Becky's So Hot, and I Won't. Don't You Worry used to be amazing but it's started to fade on me. When You're Gone got super annoying and was here way too long. Until I Found You had a good run. I forgot Becky's So Hot existed. I Won't got replaced with a 1000x better AJR song.

Ok, did really need to jump that high?

Victoria's Secret is now my favorite song on the countdown, it's super super catchy. World's Smallest Violin might overtake that next week, though.

Sorry Waffle, but Maybe You're The Problem is getting extremely annoying and overplayed.

So Good is really starting to piss me off, how is this song even a hit?

Oof, I was really hoping Numb would get #1 this week. Hopefully next week. Actually, it's probably never reach #1 cuz Hits 1 stans a certain individual.

Really, Late Night Talking is #1 again? Hits 1, can we please stop stanning Harry The Clown?

That's all for now, see you all next week!
