Debuts:

Hits 1 is 2 months late on picking up on this song. The Weeknd and Playboi Carti collab for a second time with Timeless. This is fine, I guess, but this is extremely forgettable.

SZA is back with BMF. This is pretty fun, and luckily this became the single instead of Drive.

After debuting hitbound a month ago, Lola Young finally makes her Hits 1 debut with Messy. I wasn't a big fan of this when I first heard it, but it's grown on me a bit. The production is pretty catchy and Lola's raspy voice somehow works.

Countdown Extra: The Marías - No One Noticed

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Gracie Abrams - I Love You, I'm Sorry [+8]

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Sabrina Carpenter - Taste [-8]

Last year's #1 song: Tate McRae - greedy (10/11 long weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Ariana Grande - yes, and?

Least favorite song last year: Jack Harlow - Lovin On Me

Most missed song: Eddie Murphy - Party All The Time (1985)

Recommendation for Hits 1: The Wrecks - Always, Everytime

5 Oldest Songs

  1. Billie Eilish - BIRDS OF A FEATHER {33w}
  2. Myles Smith - Stargazing {25w}
  3. Charli XCX - Apple {23w}
  4. Lady Gaga/Bruno Mars - Die With A Smile {22w}
  5. Sabrina Carpenter - Taste {21w}

Griff - last night's mascara [11]

Marshmello/Jonas Brothers - Slow Motion [Debut]

Dasha - Bye Bye Bye [13; 2nd time]

Alessi Rose - IKYK [Debut]

Teddy Swims/Giveon - Are You Even Real [2]

Kesha - DELUSIONAL [4]

TWICE/Megan Thee Stallion - Strategy [6]

Nessa Barrett - PINS AND NEEDLES [3]

Also Available on Survey

Megan Moroney - Am I Okay? [4]

Tyla is back with PUSH 2 START. This is pretty fun and Tyla sounds great.

Oh great, another unreleased Hayes Warner song Hits 1 picked up on a week before it actually releases. She's back with Oh. This is pretty fun but slightly forgettable.

We have someone named Vella, real name Gabriella Valdes, with All My Love. This is a fun little bop and her voice is great.

We have a second song called Slow Motion this year, but unfortunately this is way worse than Jonah Marais' song with the same name. Marshmello and Jonas Brothers collab for a second time since Leave Before You Love Me in 2021. This sounds extremely mid but the Jonas Brothers sound great as always.

What is with all these no-names this week, this song only has 4k streams on Spotify. Someone named Alessi Rose is here with IKYK. This is kinda fun but again is very forgettable.

toxic till the end reentered. drinks or coffee was so much better.

Ok no one asked for more Willow Avalon. She's back with Baby Blue. I've never had the chance to talk about Willow since I was bloggericided when she was on Hits 1. She was the Hits 1 to watch and had an extremely mid song Stranger on the countdown, and another mid song Honey Ain't No Sweeter that dropped out of hitbound. Baby Blue is her worst song so far. The production is pretty boring and I'm not a big fan of Willow's voice.

Exits:

Balu Brigada - So Cold [16]

Twenty One Pilots - The Line [8]

Ariana Grande/Cynthia Erivo - What Is This Feeling? [2]

ROSÉ - drinks or coffee [3]

RAYE - Oscar Winning Tears [5]

The Marías - No One Noticed [9] SOTW

almost monday - can't slow down [11]

Good riddance to So Cold and can't slow down which lasted way too long. The Line was mid. drinks or coffee got replaced by a worse song from her. What Is This Feeling deserved better. And Oscar Winning Tears and No One Noticed find themselves in the abyss.

Abyss

The Marías - No One Noticed

RAYE - Oscar Winning Tears

JENNIE - Mantra

Lady Gaga - Disease

Myles Smith - Nice To Meet You

Megan Moroney - Am I Okay?

Akon - Akon's Beautiful Day

Harry Styles - Daylight

I could be a millionaire, but I would rather fry my blurbs:

We lost Dancing In The Flames, Close To You, and Hello Miss Johnson. Hello Miss Johnson was an actual decent Jack Harlow song but it faded on me a lot. And good riddance to Dancing In The Flames and Close To You which both got very annoying, especially Close To You which stuck around way too long.

How in the actual hell is Sailor Song almost in the top 10?

Taste took a big tumble but it deserved an even bigger one.

BIRDS OF A FEATHER has left the top 5 for the first time in 4 months.

Bed Chem jumped to #3. It's only a matter of time until it reaches #1.

Nice to see APT hold at #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

    1. Yes, Can't Slow Down Lasting Too Long for 11 Weeks on Hitbound

  2. Does Bird Of A Feather now set the record for the longest countdown run since it was shortened to top 30. I know songs have lasted over 30 weeks but I don't remember any song reaching 33 weeks since before the shortening

    1. No, the record still belongs to Before You Go by Lewis Capaldi at 37 weeks

      Delete
    2. Yeah but I meant the longest run spent all within the shortened top 30, I remember BYG was split between both throughout its run

      Delete
    3. Yeah in that case, BOAF would hold the record then.

    8. Aww I was hoping I would get the classic Daniel "i hope ur miserable until ur dead" meltdown, but a "Fuck You" meltdown works as well.

    9. I love how the "fuck you" Spotify links has "ASS" in it

      Delete
    12. I Like You only had 32 weeks

      Delete
    13. does BOAF have the most weeks since Before You Go? did a song get 34-36 weeks?

Also, Can you listen to EMELINE - 99 boys

And sorry for spamming and having a meltdown,
      Daniel

    14. No other song since Before You Go has gotten more than 32 weeks, so BOAF does currently hold the record for a song that spent its entire run in the 30 countdown song era.

99 boys is actually a really great sample of 99 Red Balloons. It'll skip bubbling under and will debut my charts on Friday.

And sorry for the deleting your comments trolling, I didn't realize it would cause you to have a meltdown. I was just tired of all the song recommendations. I didn't actually delete them, I just marked them as spam so they would disappear.

      Delete
    15. Naur not you marking it as spam.

      Delete
    16. wait, will marking it as spam make my google account flag? im genuinely scared lol.

      Delete
    17. No it won't mark your Google account as spam. I unmarked your comments as spam so it doesn't matter anymore.

    18. I'm sure whoever asked the original question about the longest run on the top 30 countdown was prolly not expecting to have the longest comment thread on this blog...

      Delete
    19. Okay, good lol. I don't want my google account marked as spam.

Ethan, Can I ask you to take a look at new Mediabase Ultimate Ranks i've completed?

      Delete
    20. Please Daniel I don't care about your mediabase ultimate ranks

      Delete
    21. Can I at least give you song recommendations? its fine if you dont want them though

      Delete
    22. Fine, I can listen to song recommendations, but just don't overwhelm me with them.

      Yellow by Wesley Nelson

    24. This is a fun but slightly forgettable sample of Coldplay's Yellow, and probably won't make my bubbling under.

    25. oh rip. How does it sample though? It references it but doesnt sample I thought.

  3. Bed Chem from sabrina carpenter is a Song that might reenter hit boundaries next week becuz of problems with hits 1 the graveyard by halsey is reentering because of the airplay on twelve stations before hot to go or even we can't be friends (your love is there is it) song that Ariana grande enjoys singing every time it plays in hitting bound it was never there before the reentry of girl in red featuring umi & v because hitathebounda is better than the houdini debuting at #46 and then there was a Song called 22 by taylor swift that debuted at #1,000 the same week that sabrina carpenter released the Tortured Poets Deposit seven years before hot to go debuted on miles smith's countdown because the guest host was Dasha and she said her boots stopped working because of how amazing that new album was and mistaking a sort n seat for a new song by nesa barratte

    ReplyDelete

    1. Lol, I highly doubt Taylor Swift's 22 will debut at #1,000, especially not the same week as the release of Sabrina Carpenter's album "The Tortured Poets Deposit"...

Hits 1 all time leaderboard update

I have every single countdown from 2011-2016 and 2021-today entered into CrownNote, and every single song has a points total depending on how well it did on the countdown. Every week after my countdown post is out, I will make a comment of songs currently on the countdown that have outperformed songs from previous years.

    Here's the first one:
BIRDS OF A FEATHER with 159,751 points has performed better on Hits 1 than the following:

Kesha - Die Young (159,551 points)
Ed Sheeran - Shivers (159,393 points and the #1 record holder)
Owl City/Carly Rae Jepsen - Good Time (157,762 points)
Katy Perry - Roar (154,012 points)
Avicii - Wake Me Up (152,164 points)

    1. And if there's a certain song on the countdown you want me to check, feel free to let me know. Otherwise, I'll just choose songs at random.

    2. can you do Stargazing?

Also suggestion: Put the HitBound stats and totals for 2025 at the end of each hitbound section

btw... what does the blurb title lyric come from?

      Delete
    3. The blurb is from the lyrics of Brain Dead, aka the "I recently found out Will Smith was a rapper" song. I already put the 2025 hitbound dropouts stats and totals on the 2025 hitbound dropouts page, but I can add them to my countdown posts also.

Stargazing with 88,078 points has outperformed:

Charli xcx - Boom Clap (87,849 points)
Selena Gomez & The Scene - Love You Like a Love Song (87,627 points)
      Lorde - Royals (85,992 points)
Lady Gaga - Born This Way (85,401 points)
      MAGIC! - Rude (84,750 points)

      Delete
    4. How is Stargazing bigger than Boom Clap, Royals, Rude, Born This Way which were all #1s? (on mediabase they were at least)
