(Troll Post) The Weirdest Week Ever - David Kushner (1) - Week Of July 8, 2023

03: Jonas Brothers - Waffle House [-1]

02: Taylor Swift feat. Ice Spice - Karma [-1] Four Weeks @ Number One

01: David Kushner - Daylight [+20] First Week @ Number One

Debuts:

Really Hits 1, we're debuting songs that aren't on streaming platforms? Taylor Swift is here with You're Losing Me. This isn't amazing but it's pretty good when I hear it on Hits 1, I just wish I can listen to it on Spotify.

I Know It Won't Work re-entered for the second time for a third total countdown run. Okay then.

The weird French crap grew on me a lot this past week, Makeba by Jain. This song is stupid but it's so incredibly fun and catchy.

Trustfall re-entered all the way up at #13. Good to have this back.

Olivia Rodrigo is back after 2 years with Vampire, and it debuts all the way up at #6. This is an amazing song from her. It starts off slow but picks up a lot as the song goes on.

Countdown Extra: The Band CAMINO - See You Later

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Tie between Dominic Fike - Mona Lisa and David Kushner - Daylight [+20]

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Tie between Post Malone - Chemical and Lewis Capaldi - Wish You The Best [-8]

Last year's #1 song: Nicky Youre - Sunroof (1/5 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Leah Kate - Twinkle Twinkle

Least favorite song last year: Amelia Moore - i feel everything

Most missed song: Fitz and The Tantrums - HandClap (2016)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Alok/Ava Max - Car Keys

5 oldest songs:

5. Tie between Crash Adams - Give Me A Kiss & Taylor Swift/Ice Spice - Karma (Remix) (11 weeks)

Hitbound:

Jain - Makeba {SB}

Fall Out Boy - We Didn't Start The Fire (Debut)

Coi Leray/David Guetta - Make My Day {2}

TOMORROW X TOGETHER/Jonas Brothers - Do It Like That (Debut)

Benson Boone - In The Stars {6}

Kaliii - Area Codes {7}

Leah Kate - Super Over {2}

Crash Adams - Lucky {6}

Metro Boomin/NAV/A Boogie Wit da Hoodie/Swae Lee - Calling {2}

Jelly Roll - Need A Favor {3}

Olivia Rodrigo - vampire {SB}

Jessie Murph/Maren Morris - Texas {5}

Tai Verdes - Sandman {3}

d4vd - Here With Me {3}

The Band CAMINO - See You Later {2} SOTW

Doechii - What It Is (Solo Version) {6}

Fall Out Boy is back with We Didn't Start The Fire, a cover of Billy Joel's 1989 song. It's the same melody but Fall Out Boy changed the lyrics to events that happened from 1989-2023. This song is so amazing. The production is really cool and I like how they changed the lyrics to modern day events. I really hope this can do something.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER and the Jonas Brothers collab on Do It Like That. This song is super fun and TXT and the Jo Bros both sound great.

Exits:

Kim Petras - Revelations {2}

Niall Horan - Science {2}

Revelations was amazing and I wished it could have debuted. And Science was mediocre.

Abyss:

Rita Ora/Fatboy Slim - Praising You

Halsey - Die 4 Me

Miguel - Sure Thing

Bakar - Hell N Back

Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding - Miracle

Flo Rida - What A Night

Pitbull/Lil Jon - JUMPIN

Havanna Winter - Tornado

I love this blurb and hate it at the same time:

We lost Attention, Last Night, Void, Keep Dat, and Cruel Summer. Good riddance to Last Night it never should have re-entered. Void was good but very weird. Attention was alright. Keep Dat was pretty fun. And Cruel Summer deserved much better.

I'm not sure why I'm In Love With You keeps jumping when it hasn't been on the survey for over a month.

Mona Lisa jumped 20 spots to #9. Let's go!!!!

Ok, what the actual fucking fuck? Daylight jumped 20 spots all the way up to #1? This is unacceptable. It's been in the bottom 5 airplay for a while now. There's no reason it should be jumping to #1. I would literally take any other song on the countdown at #1 besides this garbage. How does anyone like this song. The production is trash. And David Kushner sounds trash, it sounds like he's literally singing into a broken microphone. I really hope this leaves #1 next week because this does not deserve #1 at all.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Taylor Swift/Ice Spice (4) - Week Of July 1, 2023

Hey guys, what's up? This was a pretty good week. We said good riddance to a certain least favorite song, and we got some great debuts.

Before we get to this week's fresh 30, let's say goodbye to the songs leaving the countdown:

Fall Out Boy - Love From The Other Side (#12) (22 weeks) [peak: 1 x 3 weeks]

Charlie Puth/Dan + Shay - That's Not How This Works (#18) (12 weeks) [peak: 6]

Toosii - Favorite Song (#23) (10 weeks) [peak: 23]

Niall Horan - Heaven (#24) (18 weeks) [peak: 1 x 1 week]

22: Jonas Brothers - Summer Baby (=) (4 weeks) [peak: 22]

21: David Kushner - Daylight (+5) (7 weeks) [peak: 21]

5: Ed Sheeran - Eyes Closed (-1) (14 weeks) [peak: 3]

4: Dua Lipa - Dance The Night (+1) (5 weeks) [peak: 4]

3: Post Malone - Chemical (=) (11 weeks) [peak: 3]

2: Jonas Brothers - Waffle House (=) (12 weeks) [peak: 2]

1: Taylor Swift/Ice Spice - Karma (Remix) (=) (10 weeks) [peak: 1 x 4 weeks]

Debuts:

Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice are here with Barbie World, which samples Aqua's 1997 hit Barbie Girl. The production is pretty fun and Nicki and Ice Spice both sound good, but the song is way too short.

Dominic Fike is finally back on the countdown since 3 Nights in 2019, with Mona Lisa. I really love this one. The production is super fun and catchy and Dominic sounds great.

Really Hits 1, we let Last Night re-enter instead of Trustfall?

Taylor Swift breaks the record for the longest time between re-entries. Cruel Summer re-enters after 3 years. This was actually on the countdown back in 2020, but only lasted 5 weeks since Taylor dropped her surprise album Folklore and cardigan replaced it. But not it's gotten popular again and here it is. This is an amazing Taylor song and I'm glad it's finally back. The production is amazing and Taylor sounds amazing.

Countdown Extra: Tai Verdes - Sandman

Biggest Jump Of The Week: The Weeknd/Playboi Carti/Madonna - Popular (+10)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Tie between SZA - Snooze and Miley Cyrus - Jaded (-6)

Last year's #1 song: Harry Styles - As It Was (8/8 long and overrated weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Leah Kate - Twinkle Twinkle

Least favorite song last year: Amelia Moore - i feel everything

Most missed song: Bonnie McKee - American Girl (2013)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Fall Out Boy - We Didn't Start The Fire

5 oldest songs:

5. Tie between Crash Adams - Give Me A Kiss & Taylor Swift/Ice Spice - Karma (Remix) (10 weeks)

4. Tie between Lewis Capaldi - Wish You The Best, Post Malone - Chemical, & Miley Cyrus - Jaded (11 weeks)

3. Jonas Brothers - Waffle House (12 weeks)

2. Ed Sheeran - Eyes Closed (14 weeks)

1. The 1975 - I'm In Love With You (18 weeks)

Hitbound:

Metro Boomin/NAV/A Boogie Wit da Hoodie/Swae Lee - Calling (Debut)

Crash Adams - Lucky {5}

Kim Petras - Revelations {2}

Niall Horan - Science {2}

Leah Kate - Super Over (Debut)

Tai Verdes - Sandman {2} SOTW

The Band CAMINO - See You Later (Debut)

Doechii - What It Is (Solo Version) {5}

Jelly Roll - Need A Favor {2}

Jain - Makeba (Debut)

Olivia Rodrigo - vampire (Debut)

d4vd - Here With Me {2}

Coi Leray/David Guetta - Make My Day (Debut)

Jessie Murph/Maren Morris - Texas {4}

Kali - Area Codes {6}

Benson Boone - In The Stars {5}

Metro Boomin, NAV, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, and Swae Lee collab with Calling. The production is pretty cool and everyone sounds great.

Leah Kate is back with Super Over and wow, this might be her best song. The production is amazing and Leah sounds great too.

The Band CAMINO make their Hits 1 debut with See You Later. I liked some of their other songs, so I'm glad to see Hits 1 is finally starting to pick them up. The production is super catchy and everyone sounds great.

Great, just what we need, weird old French crap! French singer Jain makes her Hits 1 debut with a song from 2016, Makeba. This song is very weird but it's kinda a bop.

Everyone's favorite recycling bin David Guetta is back along with Coi Leray with Make My Day. This samples Pump Up The Jam, since David Guetta can't come up with his own melody. Despite the lazy sample, the production slaps and Coi Leray sounds great.

Now for probably the most hyped song of the year, Olivia Rodrigo is finally back after 2 years with vampire. I didn't have high hopes for this when I was told it was a ballad, but I was blown away once I heard it. The production starts of slow but gets more upbeat as the song goes on, and Olivia sounds great. I think this song might grow on me a lot.

Exits:

Devon Cole - 1-800-GOT-STRESS {2}

Jimin/JVKE/Charlie Puth/Muni Long - Angel Part 2 {6}

Nicky Youre - Good Times Go {3}

Havanna Winter - Tornado {2}

Tornado finds itself in the abyss, and the rest I didn't care about.

Abyss:

Rita Ora/Fatboy Slim - Praising You

Halsey - Die 4 Me

Miguel - Sure Thing

Bakar - Hell N Back

Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding - Miracle

Taylor Swift  - You're Losing Me (From The Vault)

Gracie Abrams - I know it won't work

Flo Rida - What A Night

Pitbull/Lil Jon - JUMPIN

Havanna Winter - Tornado

P!nk - Trustfall

Cruel Blurbs:

We lost Love From The Other Side, That's Not How This Works, Favorite Song, and Heaven. Good riddance to Least Favorite Song, I didn't think it was ever gonna leave. That's Not How This Works and Heaven were good but were getting really old. And Love From The Other Side had a great countdown run so I'm fine with it leaving.

Daylight needs to do less jumping and more leaving to make room for better songs.

Finally Happy is starting to get a huge jump.

Can Wish You The Best and Eyes Closed go away please?

Let's go, Cupid is back in the top 10!

I'm not really sure why Give Me A Kiss is doing so well, but I'll gladly take it.

The top 3 held again this week. Karma is #1 for the 4th week in a row. I don't mind this, but I would really like Chemical to get #1 soon though.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Poll of the week results:

Taylor Swift/Ice Spice (3) - Week Of June 24, 2023

Hey guys, what's up? This was a pretty good week. We had 2 questionable exits but 2 better songs replaced them.

Before we get to this week's fresh 30, let's say goodbye to the songs leaving the countdown:

Niall Horan - Meltdown (#14) (7 weeks) [peak: 14]

Debuts:

Fall Out Boy is here with Hold Me Like a Grudge. I wished What a Time to be Alive could have debuted instead, but I'll still take this. Amazing FOB song and Patrick Stump sounds amazing as always.

Doja Cat is back with Attention. This is pretty good. The production kinda slaps and Doja sounds good.

Countdown Extra: Dominic Fike - Mona Lisa

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Tie between OneRepublic - Runaway and Icandy - Keep Dat (+9)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: FIFTY FIFTY - Cupid (Twin Ver.) (-5)

Last year's #1 song: Harry Styles - As It Was (7/8 long and overrated weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: The Chainsmokers - I Love U

Least favorite song last year: Amelia Moore - i feel everything

Most missed song: Tequila Mockingbrd - Another Song About Tequila (2021)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Flo Rida - Do Si Do

5 oldest songs:

5. Charlie Puth/Dan + Shay - That’s Not How This Works (12 weeks)

Hitbound:

Jessie Murph/Maren Morris - Texas {3}

Nicki Minaj/Ice Spice/Aqua - Barbie World (Debut)

Benson Boone - In The Stars {4}

Tai Verdes - Sandman (Debut)

Niall Horan - Science (Debut)

Doechii - What It Is (Solo Version) {4}

Jelly Roll - Need A Favor (Debut)

Crash Adams - Lucky {4}

Kali - Area Codes {5}

d4vd - Here With Me (Debut)

Kim Petras - Revelations (Debut)

Devon Cole - 1-800-GOT-STRESS {2}

Dominic Fike - Mona Lisa {2} SOTW

Jimin/JVKE/Charlie Puth/Muni Long - Angel Part 2 {6}

Nicky Youre - Good Times Go {3}

Havanna Winter - Tornado {2}

Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice collab for a second time with Barbie World. This is pretty fun but I just wished it was longer than a minute and 49 seconds.

Tai Verdes is back with Sandman and this time he has a really good song. The production is really catchy and I really like the whistling, and Tai sounds great too.

Niall Horan replaced himself with Science. Hits 1 really didn't need to replace If You Leave Me with this boring ballad. The production is fine I guess but it's really boring, but Niall does sound really good as always.

I don't think anyone ever thought Hits 1 would pick up on Jelly Roll, but here he is with Need A Favor. It's a pretty fun country song and his voice is pretty good.

d4vd makes his Hits 1 debut with Here With Me. The production is fine but d4vd's voice is kinda weird, he sounds like a worse Stephen Sanchez.

Saving the best debut for last. Kim Petras just released her new album Feed The Beast, and here she is with Revelations. And oh my this is a bop. This sounds very Carly Rae Jespen-y, and I swear it sounds like her instead of Kim. And the production is insanely fun and catchy.

Pitbull/Lil Jon - JUMPIN {6}

Niall Horan - If You Leave Me {2}

JUMPIN finds itself in the abyss, and the rest I didn't care about.

Abyss:

Rita Ora/Fatboy Slim - Praising You

Halsey - Die 4 Me

Conan Gray - Never Ending Song

Miguel - Sure Thing

Maroon 5 - Middle Ground

Bakar - Hell N Back

Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding - Miracle

Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer

Taylor Swift  - You're Losing Me (From The Vault)

Gracie Abrams - I know it won't work

Flo Rida - What A Night

Pitbull/Lil Jon - JUMPIN

Hold Me Like A Blurb:

We lost Trustfall and Meltdown. The wrong Niall song left, Heaven really needs to leave instead. And RIP Trustfall, you did not deserve to become a one week wonder.

Oof, it looks like Favorite Song isn't leaving anytime soon.

Finally it looks like Happy is gonna do something.

RIP Cupid left the top 10.

Wish You The Best is starting to fade on me a lot.

Give Me A Kiss is up to #6 now. This has grown on me a lot and is now the purple ranking.

Good riddance Eyes Closed is getting really annoying, it's close to being bad.

Karma is #1 for a third week, with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Taylor Swift/Ice Spice (2) - Week Of June 17, 2023

Debuts:

Lil Durk makes his second countdown debut and J.Cole his first with All My Life. This has grown on me a lot. This is really fun and catchy and Lil Durk and J.Cole both sound great.

6 months after it was released, TRUSTFALL by P!nk debuts, making her return to the countdown since Walk Me Home in 2019. This isn't as good as Never Gonna Not Dance Again, but it's still really good. The production is extremely catchy and P!nk sounds great as always.

Countdown Extra: PinkPantheress - Angel

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Harry Styles - Satellite (+14)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: The 1975 - I'm In Love With You (-12)

Last year's #1 song: Harry Styles - As It Was (6/8 long and overrated weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Demi Lovato - SKIN OF MY TEETH

Least favorite song last year: Megan Thee Stallion/Dua Lipa - Sweetest Pie

Most missed song: AWOLNATION - Sail (2011)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Flo Rida/Pep & Rash - Good Girls On Vacation

5 oldest songs:

5. Charlie Puth/Dan + Shay - That’s Not How This Works (11 weeks)

4. Ed Sheeran - Eyes Closed (12 weeks)

3. The 1975 - I'm In Love With You (16 weeks)

2. Niall Horan - Heaven (17 weeks)

1. Fall Out Boy - Love From The Other Side (21 weeks)

Hitbound:

Nicky Youre - Good Times Go {2}

Madison Beer - Home To Another One {2}

Doechii - What It Is (Solo Version) {3}

Crash Adams - Lucky {3}

Niall Horan - If You Leave Me {2}

Kali - Area Codes {4}

PinkPantheress - Angel {2} SOTW

Jimin/JVKE/Charlie Puth/Muni Long - Angel Part 2 {5}

Jessie Murph/Maren Morris - Texas {2}

Dominic Fike - Mona Lisa (Debut)

Bailey Bryan - IYKYK {2}

Benson Boone - In The Stars (re-entry) {3}

Doja Cat - Attention (Debut)

Havanna Winter - Tornado (Debut)

Pitbull/Lil Jon - JUMPIN {6}

Devon Cole - 1-800-GOT-STRESS
(Debut)

Also on the survey:

Flo Rida - What A Night {1}

Fall Out Boy - Hold Me Like A Grudge {1}

Taylor Swift - You're Losing Me {1}

Hits 1 switched to Angel Part 2 which replaces Kodak Black and NLE Choppa with Charlie Puth. Charlie's verse sounds good but doesn't really add much to the song.

In The Stars by Benson Boone has finally now been pushed to pop, and it re-entered hitbound a year later. This has grown on me a lot and it's easily the best song from him. I wouldn't mind if this became a hit.

Dominic Fike is back with Mona Lisa. And wow this is kinda a bop. This is really catchy and Dominic sounds great.

Doja Cat is here with Attention. Charlie Puth's Attention may be better, but this is kinda a bop. The production is very weird but it's kinda catchy and Doja Cat sounds good.

Hits 1 stop picking up on every Havanna Winter song challenge (impossible). They have literally picked up on every one of her songs (besides her one Christmas song). She's back with Tornado. This is alright. The production is solid and Havanna sounds good.

Devon Cole is back with 1-800-GOT-STRESS after having that dropout WITCH last year. This isn't quite as good as WITCH but it's still alright. The production is pretty catchy and Devon sounds pretty good.

Exits:

Ice Spice/Nicki Minaj - Princess Diana {6}

Shawn Mendes - WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DYING FOR ? {1}

Ed Sheeran - A Beautiful Game
{2}

Sam Smith/Madonna - VULGAR {1}

These were all good but I didn't really seem them doing anything.

Abyss:

Rita Ora/Fatboy Slim - Praising You

Halsey - Die 4 Me

Lady Gaga - Bloody Mary

Lizzy McAlpine - ceilings

Conan Gray - Never Ending Song

Miguel - Sure Thing

Maroon 5 - Middle Ground

Bakar - Hell N Back

Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding - Miracle

Kim Petras/Nicki Minaj - Alone

Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer

Taylor Swift - Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince

1-800-GOT-BLURBS:

We lost I know it won't work and Lottery. I know it won't work wasn't that great and didn't deserve to re-enter in the first place. And good riddance to annoying Lottery.

I think everyone expected Cruel Summer to re-enter 3 years later but it looks like it's staying in the abyss for now.

Are Favorite Song or Daylight ever gonna go away?

RIP I'm In Love With You, I was really hoping it could get into the top 5.

Harry the clown finally got the huge jump into the top 10 we were all expecting.

Dance The Night took a huge jump into the top 5. Can Dua finally get her first #1 since We're Good in 2021?

Karma is #1 for a second week now. But I wouldn't mind if Waffle House, Chemical, or Dance The Night took the #1 spot soon though.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
