Debuts:

Debuting out of nowhere is Taylor Swift with I Can Do It With A Broken Heart. I don't think this has been pushed as a single yet but I guess I'll take it. This is slightly better than Fortnight. This is a lot more upbeat and Taylor still sounds great.

twenty one pilots are back with Backslide. This is just very boring and forgettable and not nearly as good as Overcompensate.

Doja Cat is back with OKLOSER. This is alright. The production is pretty upbeat and Doja Cat sounds decent.

Countdown Extra: Lay Bankz - Tell Ur Girlfriend

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Taylor Swift/Post Malone - Fortnight [+13]

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Tie between Beyoncé - TEXAS HOLD 'EM and Meghan Trainor/T-Pain - Been Like This [-5]

Last year's #1 song: Niall Horan - Heaven (1/1 week at #1)

Favorite song last year: Rita Ora/Fatboy Slim - Praising You

Least favorite song last year: Labrinth/Billie Eilish - Never Felt So Alone

Most missed song: System Of A Down - Sugar (1998)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Bambie Thug - Doomsday Blue

Hitbound

Artemas - i like the way you kiss me [4]

Gracie Abrams - Risk [Debut]

d4vd - Feel It [4]

Dua Lipa - These Walls [Debut]

Knox - Change Your Mind [3]

Kygo/Zak Abel/Nile Rodgers - For Life [2]

OneRepublic - Nobody [4]

Jessie Murph - Cold [2]

Lay Bankz - Tell Ur Girlfriend [2]

Teddy Swims - Apple Juice [2]

Forrest Frank/Connor Price - UP! [Debut]

Michael Marcagi - Scared To Start [5]

The Chainsmokers/Fridayy - Friday [Debut]

David Guetta/OneRepublic - I Don’t Wanna Wait [5]

Lauv - Potential [2]

Tommy Richman - MILLION DOLLAR BABY [Debut]

Gracie Abrams returns with Risk. This is alright. The production is basic and Gracie sounds good. This is better than I Know It Won't Work but not as great as Where Do We Go Now.

Dua Lipa just released her new album Radical Optimism, and for some reason Hits 1 decided to pick up on the most mid song on the album These Walls. Dua Lipa sounds amazing as always but the production is super forgettable. End Of An Era and Maria were much better songs to pick.

Oh, a random song that I actually know. Forrest Frank from the duo Surfaces and Connor Price, who's basically a Nic D clone, are here with UP. This song actually bubbled under my personal charts back in March so I'm glad to see Hits 1 finally picking up on this. Both of them sound great and the production is super fun.

The Chainsmokers and rapper Fridayy are here with Friday. This is basically just a worse version of Roses. The drop is great but the rest of the song is kinda boring.

This next song is apparently going viral. It's Tommy Richman with MILLION DOLLAR BABY. The production kinda slaps and he sounds pretty good.

How has Change Your Mind still not debuted yet? It's been in the top 10 of airplay for 2 weeks now.

Exits:

Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe! [3]

Mark Ambor - Belong Together [3]

People R Ugly - DUMB [3]

Good Luck, Babe and Belong Together find themselves in the abyss, and DUMB wasn't that great.

Abyss

Shaboozey - A Bar Song (Tipsy)

Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe!

Mark Ambor - Belong Together

Jagwar Twin - Bad Feeling (Oompa Loompa)

Madison Beer - Make You Mine

Justin Timberlake - No Angels

Benson Boone - Slow It Down

Lady Gaga/Ariana Grande - Rain On Me

Hayes Warner/Billy B/Kevin Rudolf - Just A Girl

Jelly Roll/Lainey Wilson - Save Me

OKBLURBER:

We lost Kissing Strangers, Selfish, and Not My Fault. Kissing Strangers and Selfish were good but insanely forgettable, and Not My Fault was great but was getting kinda old.

On My Mama has grown on me a lot again and is now my purple song.

How is Training Season still at #4? It was the least played countdown song last week.

Too Sweet jumped to #3. Hopefully Hozier can finally get his first #1 on the countdown.

Let's go, Godson Boone is still #1 this week. But we can't be friends jumped to #2, can Ariana finally get her first #1 on the countdown?

That's all for now, see you all next week!

1. Benson Boone - Beautiful Things [+1] (13w) [PK: 1w @ #1]

Debut:

Taylor Swift just recently released her new album The Tortured Poets Department, and here she is with Post Malone with Fortnight. The album kinda sucked, most of the songs were boring and sounded the same, but Fortnight was one of the better songs from the album. Taylor and Post both sound great, just wish that Post had more singing than just background vocals.

Countdown Extra: Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe!

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Hozier - Too Sweet [+10]

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Shinedown - A Symptom Of Being Human [-12]

Hitbound

Michael Marcagi - Scared To Start [4]

Lay Bankz - Tell Ur Girlfriend [Debut]

People R Ugly - DUMB [3]

Lauv - Potential [Debut]

Jessie Murph - Cold [Debut]

d4vd - Feel It [3]

Knox - Change Your Mind [2]

Twenty One Pilots - Backslide [Debut]

David Guetta/OneRepublic - I Don’t Wanna Wait [4]

Mark Ambor - Belong Together [3]

Artemas - i like the way you kiss me [3]

Teddy Swims - Apple Juice [Debut]

OneRepublic - Nobody [3]

Kygo/Zak Abel/Nile Rodgers - For Life [Debut]

Lay Bankz makes her Hits 1 debut with Tell Ur Girlfriend. This is pretty fun and Lay Bankz sounds great.

Lauv is back with Potential. This is fine but extremely forgettable.

Jessie Murph is here with Cold because of course Hits 1 has to pick up on all her songs. This is fine but very boring.

Twenty One Pilots are back with Backslide. This is really boring and not near as good as Overcompensate.

Wow, a Doja Cat song that isn't completely vomit worthy. She's here with OKLOSER after MASC dropped out. This is kinda fun but is very forgettable.

Teddy Swims just released the deluxe edition of his album I've Tried Everything But Therapy, and here he is with Apple Juice. This is pretty fun and Teddy sounds great as always.

Yay, Hits 1 picked up on my recommendation from last week, For Life. This samples the 2001 song Lady (Hear Me Tonight) by Modjo. The production from Kygo is amazing as always and Zak Abel sounds great.

Change Your Mind got 54 spins last week, I'm really surprised it didn't debut the countdown.

Exits:

Ava Max - My Oh My [3]

Doja Cat/Teezo Touchdown - MASC [3]

Mimi Webb - Mistake [2]

vaultboy - you're my moon [2]

girl in red/Sabrina Carpenter - You Need Me Now? [3]

Porter Robinson - Cheerleader [4]

Mistake, My Oh My, and Cheerleader were amazing and deserved better. Good riddance to MASC. And you're my moon and You Need Me Now were just alright.

Abyss

Jagwar Twin - Bad Feeling (Oompa Loompa)

Olivia Rodrigo - so american

Madison Beer - Make You Mine

Justin Timberlake - No Angels

Benson Boone - Slow It Down

Lady Gaga/Ariana Grande - Rain On Me

Hayes Warner/Billy B/Kevin Rudolf - Just A Girl

The Weeknd/JENNIE/Lily-Rose Depp - One Of The Girls

Jelly Roll/Lainey Wilson - Save Me

Blurbble Juice:

We just lost Shakes this week. This was fine but insanely forgettable and only became a hit because Hits 1 are huge 5SOS stans.

If II MOST WANTED could go away that would be fantastic.

A Symptom Of Being Human randomly had a huge jump a few weeks ago, and now it randomly has a huge drop.

Nice to see Too Sweet getting a huge jump.

Let's go!!!! Godson Boone is finally #1!!!!!! I'm so glad to see Benson Boone finally get his first #1 song. Beautiful Things is a masterpiece and definitely deserved to be #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

1. Sabrina Carpenter - Feather [==] (20w) [PK: 4w @ #1]

Debuts:

On My Mama randomly re-entered after getting hardly any airplay. I still really love this song so I guess I'll take it.

We have 2 songs debuting that were in hitbound for ages and are finally now debuting. First up is The Beaches with Blame Brett. This is a fun little indie rock song but is super forgettable.

The second song that spent ages on hitbound is Teddy Swims with The Door. This is so much better than Lose Control. The production is super cool and Teddy sounds great.

Making its way out of the abyss is Muni Long with Made For Me, who makes her first ever appearance on the countdown. This is a fine but forgettable R&B song.

Dua Lipa is here with Illusion. This has grown on me slightly. It's great but not as great as Houdini or Training Season, but this could grow on me more.

Sabrina Carpenter brings her second song on the countdown with Espresso. This is pretty fun, but kinda forgettable. Hopefully this grows on me.

Taylor Swift just released her new album The Tortured Poets Department (which is quickly becoming her worst album according to music critics) and she's here with Fortnight with Post Malone. This album really sucked. Most of the songs were super boring and sounded exactly the same. But Fortnight was one of the better songs on the album. The production is decent enough and Taylor and Post Malone both sound great, but Post hardly sings in it. Maybe she'll do a re-release with more Post Malone like she did with Lana Del Rey.

Cheerleader re-entered. This has grown on me a lot so I'm glad to see it's back.

Hits 1 has picked up on every Knox song since Not The 1975 entered the countdown, and here he is with Change Your Mind. This isn't the best song from him, but it's still an amazing bop.

Exit:

Benson Boone - Cry [2]

Well Cry seems to be in the abyss now.

Abyss

Olivia Rodrigo - so american

Madison Beer - Make You Mine

Panic! At The Disco - New Perspective

Justin Timberlake - No Angels

Benson Boone - Slow It Down

Benson Boone - Cry

Fall Out Boy - So Much (For) Stardust

Lady Gaga/Ariana Grande - Rain On Me

Hayes Warner/Billy B/Kevin Rudolf - Just A Girl

The Weeknd/JENNIE/Lily-Rose Depp - One Of The Girls

On My Blurbs:

We lost Make You Mine, Slow It Down, so american, Overcompensate, Love On, and Houdini. Houdini had a great countdown run and it was time to leave. so American was just starting to grow on me. Make You Mine and Love On were good but extremely forgettable. Overcompensate wasn't twenty one pilot's best song. And Slow It Down wasn’t as good as Beautiful Things.

obsessed has shrunk on me while TEXAS HOLD 'EM has grown on me.

The entire top 9 didn’t change at all…

I’m not really sure how Feather is still #1 when it dropped massively in airplay and Beautiful Things jumped to #1 in airplay, but hopefully Beautiful Things jumps to #1 next week.

That’s all for now, see you all next week!
