Ethan's Top 10 - Tiësto (1) - May 30, 2025

https://www.crownnote.com/charts/zestpond/ethans-top-10-may-30-2025

Wow, what an eventful week - we had 7 debuts! Meg Donnelly makes her return since In My Bag in late 2024. Calvin Harris is back with another EDM banger. Crash Adams are back this time with an EDM song. Milky Chance are finally back on my charts since Colorado spent 1 week on my first ever chart back in 2022. We have a Martin Garrix and Lauv collab. We have yet another Paul Russell bop. Lastly we have a song from 1962 debuting. Normally I try not to let old music debut, especially a 60 year old song, but this is trending on TikTok and has been re-released, plus it's a bop, so I'm allowing it.

Debuts:

Alessi Rose finally makes her countdown debut with Same Mouth. This is a lot better than IKYK that refused to leave hitbound. She sounds really good here, but the production here just feels super generic.

Morgan Wallen replaces himself with a collab with Tate McRae called What I Want. This is a step down from I Ain't Comin' Back. Morgan and Tate both sound good here, but the production is just some super generic country trap beat that's super boring.

Lastly, for some inexplicable reason, Shaboozey's Good News has reentered. Bruh, no one asked for this. This song is over 6 months old and has already run its course. Hits 1 seriously needs to stop with these random reentries. First it was Love Somebody, then Sailor Song, and now this. This is just gonna leave next week anyway so why bother even bringing it back.

Countdown Extra: Rihanna - Friend Of Mine

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Alex Warren - Ordinary [+8]

Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Ariana Grande - twilight zone [-8]

Last year's #1 song: Hozier - Too Sweet (3/6 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Camila Cabello/Lil Nas X - HE KNOWS

Least favorite song last year: SZA - Saturn

Most missed song: Coi Leray/David Guetta - Make My Day (2023)

Recommendation for Hits 1: DURRY - idk i just work here

5 Oldest Songs

  1. Shaboozey - Good News {26w}
  2. Teddy Swims - Bad Dreams {23w}
  3. Tate McRae - Sports car {17w}
  4. Tie between The Weeknd - Cry For Me and Lady Gaga - Abracadabra {16w}
  5. ROSÉ - toxic till the end {15w}

Hitbound

People R Ugly - DOULOVEME [2]

Reneé Rapp - Leave Me Alone [Debut]

Ed Sheeran - Old Phone [4]

Michael Clifford - cool [8]

Alex Warren/Jelly Roll - Bloodline [Debut]

Dove Cameron - French Girls [4]

Benson Boone - Momma Song [Debut]

Machine Gun Kelly - cliché [Debut]

Emei - Crazy Stupid Love [13]

Jon Bellion/Luke Combs - WHY [Debut]

Joe Jonas - Heart By Heart [5]

The Paradox - Do Me Like That [4]

Tyla - Bliss [2]

Rihanna - Friend Of Mine [2]

Laufey - Tough Luck [2]

Avril Lavigne/Simple Plan - Young & Dumb [3]

Reneé Rapp is finally back with Leave Me Alone after not making any music for a year. This is yet another banger from her. The alt production slaps so hard and she sounds great as per usual.

Alex Warren and Jelly Roll collab with Bloodline. Apparently Alex Warren wrote this for someone as an EDM song, I'm not really sure who because I can't find any information. As for the song itself, this is pretty good. The production is really fun and Alex and Jelly Roll both sound great, but this feels kinda generic.

Ugh, just when Benson Boone was starting to release some bangers, he goes and releases a ballad called Momma Song. This isn't the worst ballad I've heard from him, but this is just way too boring for me to enjoy.

Machine Gun Kelly, who has changed his name to mgk, but I refuse to call him that because I've gotten so used to calling him Machine Gun Kelly, is back with cliché after that super mid song Lonely Road last year. This is one of his best songs in awhile. The production is really fun and feels really nostalgic, and Machine Gun Kelly sounds great as usual.

Seriously Hits 1, can you please stop picking up on every Jon Bellion song? It's getting ridiculous at this point. WHY is not great at all, but at least it's slightly better than that snoozefest HOROSCOPE. The production is super generic, but Luke Combs' verse is pretty good and the production starts to pick up towards the end of the song.

Exits:

  • Damiano David - Voices [2]
  • Shaboozey/Myles Smith - Blink Twice [6]
  • BigXthaPlug/Bailey Zimmerman - All The Way [6]

Voices was great and deserved better. And Blink Twice and All The Way were super mid.

2025 Total Dropouts: 75

Estimated total for 2025: 163 (=)

Abyss

Calvin Harris/Clementine Douglas - Blessings [1]

Morgan Wallen/Post Malone - I Ain't Comin' Back [1]

Shinedown - Three Six Five [2]

Maren Morris - lemonade [2]

Myles Smith - Nice To Meet You [3]

Billie Eilish - WILDFLOWER [3]

Dasha - Not At This Party [4]

Janet Jackson - Someone To Call My Lover [5]

almost monday - can't slow down [7]

Ryann - Dirty [8]

Justice/Tame Impala - Neverender [9]

Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us [12]

Pitbull/Bon Jovi - Now or Never [13]

Harry Styles - Daylight [157]

Why is Not Like Us randomly back in the abyss? And why is a random Calvin Harris song in the abyss?

Blurb of mine:

We lost like JENNIE, I Ain't Comin' Back, and Messy. like JENNIE was great but it was super forgettable, and it was here for 2 months and only peaked at #25. I'm not really sure why I Ain't Comin' Back left, because it still had a ton of airplay. And Messy stuck around way too long and really needed to leave a while ago.

NOKIA is literally just countdown filler at this point. It refuses to do anything.

Feel It has grown on me a lot and What Was That has faded on me, so Feel It now becomes my purple song.

Hits 1 doesn't know what to do with twilight zone because it keeps jumping and dropping hard.

Hits 1 announced that ROLE MODEL is the next one to watch. But he was already the one to watch in 2020 with Going Out. Did Hits 1 forget he was already a one to watch?

How in the hell is Ordinary all the way up at #3? The title of the song perfectly describes how I feel about it. It's super generic and ordinary.

We finally have a new #1 this week. Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else has gotten quite annoying recently and I was really hoping it wouldn't reach #1, but I guess I'm fine with it at #1. I much rather preferred Azizam or even Busy Woman at #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

https://www.crownnote.com/charts/zestpond/ethans-top-10-may-23-2025

Lady Gaga (6) - Week of May 17, 2025

Hey guys! After having a very strange countdown last week, we had a pretty active one this week with a lot of big jumps and drops.

Before we get to this week's fresh 30, let's say goodbye to the songs leaving the countdown:

2. Benson Boone - Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else [+1] {11w} PK: 2

1. Lady Gaga - Abracadabra [=] {15w} [6 weeks at #1]

Debuts:

Ugh, we really did not need more Jessie Murph. She's back on the countdown with Blue Strips. The production is decent enough, but her voice is just so damn annoying and makes me want to slam my head against the wall any time I hear her.

We now have two songs called Messy on the countdown. ROSÉ's is unfortunately the worse one. She sounds good here but this is just super forgettable.

We have 2 songs debuting that spent awhile in hitbound and spent a week in the abyss. First up is Ravyn Lenae with Love Me Not. She sounds good here and the production is pretty fun, but this is slightly forgettable.

Everyone seems to love this next song but I think it's just alright. sombr makes his countdown debut with undressed. This has grown on me slightly since it first debuted hitbound. I really like the alt production and he sounds really good, but this still feels slightly forgettable.

Lastly we have a very weird reentry. d4vd's Feel It has randomly reentered the countdown after it spent 2 weeks on the countdown a year ago. I don't think this song is trending anywhere so I'm not really sure why Hits 1 has randomly brought this back. This has grown on me a lot this past year, so I'm glad to see it back.

Hitbound

Ed Sheeran - Old Phone [3]

Alessi Rose - Same Mouth [Debut]

The Paradox - Do Me Like That [3]

Morgan Wallen/Tate McRae - What I Want [Debut]

Rihanna - Friend Of Mine [Debut]

Damiano David - Voices [2]

Tyla - Bliss [Debut]

People R Ugly - DOULOVEME [Debut]

Shaboozey/Myles Smith - Blink Twice [6]

Dove Cameron - French Girls [3]

Avril Lavigne/Simple Plan - Young & Dumb [2]

BigXthaPlug/Bailey Zimmerman - All The Way [6]

Michael Clifford - cool [7]

Emei - Crazy Stupid Love [12]

Laufey - Tough Luck [Debut]

Joe Jonas - Heart By Heart [4]

Alessi Rose is back with Same Mouth. This is slightly better than IKYK, but this is still extremely forgettable. Let's just hope this doesn't spend 10+ weeks in hitbound like IKYK did.

We have a collab never in a million years I thought would ever happen. Morgan Wallen collabs with Tate McRae of all people with What I Want. They both sound good here, but this is just super boring.

Rihanna is back after 3 years since that snoozefest Lift Me Up, with Friend Of Mine. This song is super strange and I don't really know how I feel about this. The production is pretty fun, but this is super repetitive. It's literally just her repeating "friend of mine" for 90% of the song over some weird dance beat. Fun song, but this is just super strange.

Tyla is back with Bliss. This is super boring and forgettable and is probably her worst song so far.

Everyone's favorite 0 hit wonder People R Ugly are back with DOULOVEME. This is alright. This is pretty fun but very forgettable. It's not as good as Brain Dead, but way better than Dumb.

It's funny, Hallett just released a post ranking every Laufey song, and she makes her Hits 1 debut this week with Tough Luck. I'm sorry Hallett, I know this is your favorite song of 2025, but this song kinda sucks. It's the most abominably horrid piece of garbage I've ever heard and should be permanently deleted from existence...JK! I will give Laufey credit because she does have an amazing voice, but the production is so forgettable and boring. Let's just hope Laufey makes a more upbeat song soon.

Exits:

  • Jon Bellion/Pharrell Williams - HOROSCOPE [1]
  • Maren Morris - lemonade [1]
  • Kesha/T-Pain - YIPPEE-KI-YAY. [7]

Good riddance to HOROSCOPE. lemonade finds itself in the abyss. And YIPPEE-KI-YAY was super mid and stuck around way too long.

2025 Total Dropouts: 72

Estimated total for 2025: 163 (-5)

Abyss

Shinedown - Three Six Five [1]

Maren Morris - lemonade [1]

Don Tolliver/Doja Cat - Lose My Mind [2]

Myles Smith - Nice To Meet You [2]

Billie Eilish - WILDFLOWER [2]

Dasha - Not At This Party [3]

Janet Jackson - Someone To Call My Lover [4]

almost monday - can't slow down [6]

Ryann - Dirty [7]

Justice/Tame Impala - Neverender [8]

Pitbull/Bon Jovi - Now or Never [12]

Harry Styles - Daylight [156]

Why is Three Six Five randomly in the abyss? And why did Dirty reenter the abyss?

DOUBLURBME:

We lost a ton of old songs this week. We lost Revolving door, Sailor Song (again), Garden Of Eden, Good News, and I Love You, I'm Sorry. Revolving door was super mid and won't be missed. I'm not sure why Hits 1 randomly let Sailor Song reenter just to let it leave 1 week later. I guess just to torture me. Garden Of Eden was great but it wasn't an actual single, maybe we'll see it again who knows. Good riddance to Good News and I Love You, I'm Sorry. They did not need to stick around this long, and I Love You, I'm Sorry did not deserve to go #1.

After 5 weeks NOKIA has finally left the bottom spot. Congrats, I guess.

Nice to see What Was That and Sally, When The Wine Runs Out getting a big jump, but not too thrilled about party 4 u getting one also.

Finally toxic till the end dropped from #2. It really did not need to be that high.

Abracadabra is starting to drop in airplay and I don't think this will be #1 for much longer. We could have a new #1 next week. Will it be Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else, Busy Woman, or Azizam? Let's just hope for anything except Busy Woman.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
