Debuts:
After spending 2 months in hitbound, So Easy (To Fall In Love) finally debuts. This is a fun little jazzy song and Olivia sounds great, but this is a bit on the forgettable side. Man I Need has started to get old, so hopefully this overtakes it soon.
Nice to see Internet Girl debuting. This song is extremely weird, but in a good way. And this song is just hilarious, half the song they're just repeating "eat zucchini" over and over. Hopefully this ends up doing well.
After spending one week on the countdown back in June, and spending 20 weeks in the abyss, for some unexplainable, inexplicable, irrational, indescribable, indefinable, unfathomable, and incomprehensible reason, Sapphire has reentered the countdown. Ummmmmmmmmmmm ... why?????????? This hasn't reentered Mediabase, AT40, or even Billboard. I don't know anything anymore. If you thought Folded was the most random reentry last week, this is 1000x more random. Well, I guess we'll see if this song does better on its second run, or if it will spend another 20 weeks in the abyss.
Countdown Extra: Hilary Duff - Roommates
Biggest Jump Of The Week: Benson Boone - Mr Electric Blue [+10]
Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Conan Gray - Vodka Cranberry [-16] Woah
Last year's #1 song: ROSÉ/Bruno Mars - APT. (3/6 weeks at #1)
Favorite song last year: Sexyy Red/Bruno Mars - Fat Juicy & Wet
Least favorite song last year: Kendrick Lamar/SZA - luther

Well, it's the moment we've all been waiting for. Harry Styles has announced his new album 'Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.' and we have the first new song from him in 4 years called Aperture. I remember in the early days of this blog, the great Harry The Clown wars. But my opinion on Harry has gotten more positive over these past few years, and I've grown to like him again. I won't lie, Aperture is a very weird song. I did not know how to feel about it on first listen. But after listening to it a few times, I've decided I like it. It has some strange new-wave disco production that's actually pretty fun, and Harry sounds great here. There's no doubt this will be a huge hit.
Speaking of One Direction members, Louis Tomlinson has released his first album in 4 years called 'How Did I Get Here', and we have the next single from it Imposter. I really like this song. It has some cool alt/indie production and Louis sounds great as per usual. Hopefully this ends up debuting instead of spending months in the abyss like Lemonade.
Remember Megan Moroney? I wish I didn't, because Wish I Didn't is here on hitbound. This song is actually quite good. The country production is really fun, and she sounds great here. This is so much better than that forgettable Am I Okay.
Wow, we have a lot of Zara Larsson this week. Lush Life and Midnight Sun have finally entered the abyss, and she has another song in hitbound. She and PinkPantheress collab on Stateside. This song is super fun. The glitch-pop production is super interesting and the 2 of them sound great together.
Rounding off hitbound we have 2 random nobodies. Someone named STELLA LEFTY is here with Thinking 'bout You. I don't know anything about this person. Her Spotify bio is completely blank. This seems like an extremely forgettable country song that's just gonna flop.
Last on hitbound, we have some Kpop girl group called NMIXX with Blue Valentine. This song is very weird. It has like 10 tempo changes. It switches between being a basic girly-pop song to a rock song like 10 times. It's kind of a mess, but a good kind of mess, and I'm kinda here for it.
Exits:
- NF - FEAR [5]
- 5 Seconds Of Summer - I'm Scared I'll Never Sleep Again [5]
- JYT - What U Want [5]
- Nick Jonas - Gut Punch [3]
- GIRLSET - Little Miss [5]
FEAR and Little Miss deserved better. And everything else was just mid. Surprised Hits 1 didn't pick up on JYT's new song Say Less, they probably will soon.

Haven't you heard, I'm the Internet blurb:
We lost Backwards, NOT OK, and Camera. Camera was extremely mid and got replaced by a much better song from him. I'm not sure what the point of picking up on random non-single Backwards was if it was just gonna spend 4 weeks on the countdown. And NOT OK was great but it was getting quite old and needed to leave.
I really thought I Just Might might have a huge jump into the top 5 this week, but I guess not. Hopefully next week.
Wow, Vodka Cranberry dropping 16 spots from #2 might be the biggest drop from #2 I've ever seen.
Woah, Mr Electric Blue had a massive 10 spot jump into the top 10.
Nice to see Gone Gone Gone in the top 5.
back to friends is now back to being blocked from #1 again.
The Fate of Ophelia remains at #1 for a 7th week now. I think our only hope at this point is I Just Might making a massive jump into the top 5. I doubt back to friends will be able to overtake it.
That's all for now, see you all next week!
