Debuts:

I'm glad this song ended up debuting. NF finally makes his return to the countdown in 3 years with FEAR since HAPPY in 2023. This song is just incredible. The production is amazing and NF's flow is great as always. Hopefully this ends up doing well.

Huh? We have a random Taylor Swift song Elizabeth Taylor debuting out of nowhere. Is this even a single? We already have two Taylor Swift songs in the top 5, we really don't need a third song debuting. This is my first time ever hearing this song. It's alright I guess. This seems very boring and forgettable. But maybe it will grow on me, we'll see.

Alex Warren replaces himself on the countdown with FEVER DREAM. Bloodline was getting very old, so I'm glad this replaced that. The production is really fun and Alex sounds great. I have no doubt this song will end up doing well.

Corbyn Besson/TZUYU - Blink [3]

Harry Styles has released his first album in 4 years called "Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally." He debuts hitbound with the next single from it American Girls. I'm not really feeling this song. It's not nearly as great as Aperture, and it's a bit on the forgettable side. There were a lot better songs he could have chose as the next single than this.

Oh joy, Hits 1 plant Maeve returns to hitbound this week with Touch and Go. I guess this is slightly better than We're Not Together, but this is still insanely forgettable.

Well, Hits 1 never picked up on Çike Çike, but they did pick up on Bebe Rexha's latest single New Religion, which I think I like better. I've never heard of Faithless, it looks like they're some British EDM band formed all the way back in 1995. I really like the production from them. It sounds like something straight out of the early 2010s. Hopefully this ends up becoming a hit.

Paul Russell just released his new album "Miracle Mile", and instead of picking up on a new song from it, Hits 1 decided to let High Maintenance reenter instead. This song is incredible and insanely fun. Hopefully it actually debuts the countdown this time and doesn't drop out again.

Exits:

  • Bebe Rexha - I Like You Better Than Me [3]
  • Bruno Mars - Risk It All [1]

I Like You Better Than Me got replaced by a better song from her. And Risk It All enters the abyss.

2026 total dropouts: 44

Estimated total for 2026: 163 (-9)

MAX/Andy Grammer - The Thing I Love [10]

KPop Demon Hunters Cast - How It's Done [19] [Reentry]

Huh? Why is Wi$h Li$t randomly in the abyss? After being on the survey for 3 weeks, Blink finally started receiving spins this week. After dropping out of hitbound last week, How It's Done returns to the abyss for its 19th week.

Elizablurb Taylor:

We lost CHANEL, TIT FOR TAT, and Bloodline. CHANEL was starting to fade on me a lot. Bloodline was great but it was extremely old. And with TIT FOR TAT never reaching the top half of the countdown, I guess it's time for another obituary two weeks in a row.

Tate McRae - TIT FOR TAT made its countdown debut on October 4, 2025.  It lived a debatably-good 5 month life for some reason.  Never aspiring for greatness, TIT FOR TAT became a shining example of “be happy with what you have”.  It never ascended higher than the #17 spot on the countdown. Though it was never loved enough to see the countdown's top half, it never once complained. This lends credence to the idea that a positive attitude has a definite impact on longevity.  The Hits-1 voters never over-the-top appreciated it, and quite frankly neither did I, but a very modest number of people apparently consistently loved it for what it was.  Isn't that all any of us aspire for?  Its lasting presence on the countdown did not go unnoticed, as a certain Hits-1 countdown recapper dedicated some of his precious Blurb space each week to discuss amazement at how it lasted so long.  I won't go so far as to say TIT FOR TAT will be missed.  In fact, it certainly won't be.  But we now find ourselves in a world in which there's one fewer thing that doesn’t make any sense and can't be explained by human logic, and well, that quite frankly ruins some of the magic of being alive.  Good-bye TIT FOR TAT.  It's been real (not!).

Damn I Love Miami had a massive jump. Maybe it won't flop after all. I can only hope.

How did silent treatment end up in the top 10? Okay, then.

Aperture finally had the big jump into the top 10 we were all expecting. This will probably be the next song to overtake #1.

The Fate Of Ophelia and 12 to 12 fell to bottom 5 in airplay. How are they still top 5 on the countdown?

Nice to see I Just Might remain at #1 this week. Fun fact, this is Bruno Mars' first ever solo song that spent more than 1 week at #1. Die With A Smile, Uptown Funk, and APT were all multi-week #1s, but he wasn't the main artist. His solo #1s Grenade, That's What I Like, and The Lazy Song only spent 1 week at #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Debuts:

Alex Warren finally made a good song for once since Bloodline. He makes his second ever appearance on my charts with FEVER DREAM.

Quite possibly we have one of the weirdest songs that have grown on me. Bella Kay got me saying iloveitiloveitiloveit, which I thought was extremely mid at first, has quickly grown on me.

BLACKPINK make their third appearance on my charts with dubstep banger GO.

We have 2 non-singles from Bruno Mars' new album The Romantic, Something Serious and Cha Cha Cha, which are bops and deserve to be the next single.

We have the Steve Aoki remix of the classic Goo Goo Dolls hit Iris. This is a really nice EDM remix and sounds straight out of the early 2000s.

We have a massive debut, debuting all the way up at #3. Dominic Fike's 2018 song fragment Babydoll has grown on me a ton. This is Dominic Fike's first solo appearance on my charts since Mona Lisa in 2023, and then last year he had the feature on JENNIE's Love Hangover that spent 3 weeks at #1. Can he get his second ever #1 on my charts?

Bubbling Under:

  • Jason Derulo - Sexy For Me
  • Haven Madison - Uncross Your Heart
  • Matthew Orgel - THE THRILL OF IT
  • Mike Posner - I Went Back To Ibiza
  • Paul Russell - Party @
  • Jennifer Lopez/David Guetta - Save Me Tonight
  • Bebe Rexha/Faithless - New Religion
  • Harry Styles - Are You Listening Now?
  • Harry Styles - Dance No More

  2. Halsey - safeword (+4) (0/1 week at #1)
  3. Go-Jo - Milkshake Man (+2)
  4. Steve Aoki/Trippie Redd/Jessica Baio/KABU - Radio (+5)
  5. Jaxomy/Conor Maynard - She's So High (Debut)

Debuts:

We finally have the long awaited return of Kygo to the countdown with a collab with Khalid and Gryffin with Save My Love. Kygo hasn't been on the countdown since Dancing Feet in 2022. This is a nice little EDM song, it has a great drop, and Khalid sounds great, but this is still a bit on the generic side. Maybe it will end up growing on me.

Finally making its way out of the abyss, Pitbull and Lil Jon form to make JUMPIN 2.0, aka Damn I Love Miami. This song is extremely fun and I'm really glad it ended up debuting. But unfortunately this is probably going to flop hard.

Oh god, I was really hoping these next 2 songs would not debut, but they unfortunately have. First up is the "better" of the 2. After dropping out of hitbound and spending a few weeks in the abyss, A Couple Minutes finally debuts. Yeah, this song is garbage. The production is extremely slow and repetitive. It's some weird boring jazz production that doesn't evolve at all. And Olivia sounds like complete garbage. How on earth is this even a hit?

Ugh, I really did not want to have to talk about this guy, but it looks like I have to now. Bad Bunny makes his first ever appearance on the countdown with DtMF, since Hits 1 edited him out on their "exclusive" 2 minute edit of Cardi B's I Like It in 2018. I've never had to talk about Bad Bunny before on this blog, but I absolutely cannot stand the guy. Let's address the obvious reason - his voice. His voice is complete garbage. There's been several artists over the years that make me want to slam my head against a wall anytime I hear them, but at least they make some kind of attempt to sing. Bad Bunny doesn't even try to sing. Literally all he does is talk with some garbage autotune over it. And the beat on this song is super repetitive. It's just the same Latin beat over and over. Let's pray this song flops hard, or I'm going to have some very choice words with Hits 1.

Alex Warren is here with his latest song FEVER DREAM. Wow, he made a great song for once since Bloodline. The production is super catchy and Alex sounds great. Hopefully this ends up debuting, and I'm pretty certain it will.

Bruno Mars has just released his first solo album in 10 years The Romantic. We have the second single from it Risk It All. Ugh, why is this the next single? This is just some forgettable ballad that's so insanely boring. I just love that one of the Spotify tags for this song says "music for soccer moms", which is perfect. Only soccer moms would enjoy this ballad.

After dropping out of hitbound last month, FEAR has reentered. This is an amazing song, and hopefully it ends up making the countdown on its second run.

We have the second single from RAYE's upcoming album called Nightingale Lane. This is solid. It has some interesting jazz R&B production, otherwise this is pretty forgettable. Not nearly as great as WHERE IS MY HUSBAND.

Um, what on earth is this next song? A random Dominic Fike song from 2018 called Babydoll is starting to trend. I don't know if I can even call this a "song", more like a song fragment. It's only 1:38 long. It's actually the 3rd shortest song Hits 1 has ever picked up on. It's only 1 second longer than Jiggle Jiggle, and 3 seconds longer than I Can't Go Back To The Way It Was. Despite the short length, this song kinda slaps. I just wish it was an actual song. It ends right when it starts getting interesting.

After Lover Girl flopped on the countdown, Laufey is back with How I Get. What the heck did I just listen to? This is way too overproduced and extremely boring. Lover Girl and Tough Luck were incredible songs, how did she regress so much? I know I said the same thing about Tough Luck when it first debuted hitbound, and that ended up growing on me, but I highly doubt this will grow on me.

BLACKPINK just released their new EP called DEADLINE, and they're here with GO. This song slaps so hard. It has a dubstep beat that goes hard, and the girls sound great as always. Hopefully this ends up becoming a hit.

Nightingale Blurbs:

We lost YUKON, Internet Girl, Golden, and Man I Need. Golden had an incredible run but it really needed to leave like 2 months ago. Man I Need got really old so I'm glad that finally left. Internet Girl slapped but it was starting to get kinda annoying. And I think it's time to bring back the special obituary for YUKON.

Justin Bieber - YUKON made its countdown debut on October 25, 2025.  It lived a debatably-good 4 and a half month life for some reason.  Never aspiring for greatness, YUKON became a shining example of “be happy with what you have”.  It never ascended higher than the #26 spot on the countdown. I won't go so far as to say YUKON will be missed.  In fact, it certainly won't be.  But we now find ourselves in a world in which there's one fewer thing that doesn’t make any sense and can't be explained by human logic, and well, that quite frankly ruins some of the magic of being alive.  Good-bye YUKON.  It’s been real (not!).

Geeze, the biggest drop on the countdown was a pitiful 1 spot. As far as I know, that is a record. The smallest biggest drop I could find was when several songs dropped 2 spots in 2022. And then in 2021, there was a week where the smallest biggest jump was only +1. So we finally have a week where the biggest drop was only -1, and another week where the biggest jump was only +1.

Woah, 12 to 12 jumped to #3. But I think it's a bit too late for this is reach #1, especially with I Just Might increasing in popularity.

Finally, it's about damn time I Just Might went #1! I was getting worried for a minute. I thought Taylor would block him from #1 forever. But not even Taylor can hold him from #1 forever. I can see this song lasting a whole lot longer at #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
