Debuts:
Conan Gray is back on the countdown after 2 years with Vodka Cranberry. What happened to Conan Gray? He used to be so good. Maniac, Overdrive, and Never Ending Song were all amazing. But recently he's started making these weird boring songs. Vodka Cranberry is just too damn boring and Conan doesn't really sound that great.
Oh great, just when The Kid LAROI was starting to become good, he's turned back into The Mid LAROI. HOT GIRL PROBLEMS is just some boring forgettable trap song and his voice doesn't sound that good.
Remember when I said this song was just gonna spend 1 week in hitbound then drop out? Yeah, that did not age well at all. KATSEYE return to the countdown with Gabriela. This has grown on me slightly since it first debuted hitbound. This is pretty fun and the girls sound great as always.
Chappell Roan returns to the countdown with The Subway after The Giver flopped hard. I usually love any thing by Chappell Roan, but I'm not feeling this song. This reminds me of all the things I hated about Kaleidoscope. But at least the production on The Subway is a lot more upbeat than Kaleidoscope, but this is still super forgettable.
After getting purged 2 weeks ago, Just Keep Watching randomly decided to reenter after hardly any airplay. This is a great song, but it started to fade on me a bit and I don't think it needed to reenter.
Countdown Extra: Demi Lovato - Fast
Biggest Jump Of The Week: KPop Demon Hunters Cast - Golden [+9]
Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Alex Warren - Ordinary [-4]
Last year's #1 song: Shaboozey - A Bar Song (Tipsy) (2/3 weeks at #1)
Favorite song last year: All Time Low - Dear Maria, Count Me In (ATL's Version)
Least favorite song last year: Jessie Murph/Teddy Swims - Dirty
Most missed song: Noah Kahan - Busyhead (2019)
Recommendation for Hits 1: Cheat Codes/CeeLo Green - Go To Hell

The Jonas Brothers have released their new album Greetings From Your Hometown, and collab with Dean Lewis on Loved You Better. This is alright. The production is extremely generic but the brothers and Dean Lewis both sound good together.
We have yet another new album, this time Machine Gun Kelly, who I still refuse to call him by his new name mgk, has released his new album lost americana, and replaces himself with cant stay here. This is slightly better than miss sunshine, but this is still extremely forgettable.
Oh great, we have some random nobody named Maeve, who I know nothing about since her Spotify description just says "nyc", is here with We're Not Together. Apparently Mikey Piff ran into her at a concert and decided to listen to her music. If it's that easy to get Mikey to play your music, then I need to start meeting him at concerts. Anyways, for the song itself, this is extremely forgettable, but she does have a great voice. Hopefully she releases a more upbeat song.
Crash Adams have released a new album, and instead of picking up a new song from it, they pick up on a song that dropped out of hitbound 2 months ago New Heart. This is a fun song and I like the EDM production, but I wish they would have picked up on an actual new song like Hot Water.
We have new Ed Sheeran this week with A Little More. This is a fun little song. The production is pretty groovy and I like his rapping towards the middle of the song. Ed's rapping is quite funny and I wish he did more of it like in his older songs.
Lastly we have a weird collab between Marshmello and Jelly Roll with Holy Water, which I guess isn't that weird because Marshmello has collabed with other country artists in the past. This song is alright. The EDM production is kinda forgettable but Jelly Roll sounds great as always.
Exits:
- Jonas Brothers - I Can't Lose [3]
- SIENNA SPIRO - You Stole The Show [2]
- Machine Gun Kelly - miss sunshine [2]
- d4vd/jasontheween - Summer Uptown [4]
- Jessie Murph - 1965 [3]
I Can't Lose finds itself in the abyss. 1965 was a funny song but it was starting to get annoying. The rest won't be missed.
2025 total dropouts: 122
Estimated total for 2025: 181 (-3)
Abyss
Taylor Swift - How Did It End? [1]
Jonas Brothers - I Can't Lose [1]
Pinkpantheress - Illegal [1]
Addison Rae - Fame is a Gun [3]
Alex Warren - Eternity [3]
Taylor Swift - ...Ready For It? [4]
Damiano David - The First Time [11]
I have some sad, or to some people happy, news. I've decided to finally remove Daylight from the abyss. It's barely getting one or two spins a week now and it's extremely old. And like Daniel said it's probably just gold spins. Goodbye old friend, you will not be missed. Also, I'm removing Disease and Not Like Us because they're both also getting very old and are probably just recurrents at this point.
Holy blurbs:
We lost Betty, Priceless, Easy Lover, Azizam, and Messy. Betty deserved so much better than what it got. Priceless was extremely mid and I don't know how it lasted as long as it did. I'm surprised Easy Lover already left but I'm fine it left before it got annoying. Messy was extremely forgettable and did not deserve to be all the way in the top 5. And Azizam left only 3 weeks after it was #1, which is crazy. And I believe this is a record. Shivers, Karma, and Anti-Hero all left the countdown 4 weeks after they left #1, and I can't think of any others.
Only 2 songs dropped spots this week. There was a week where only 1 song dropped spots, but I can't remember off the top of my head what week that was.
Can Blue Strips just go away already please? It's literally just taking up space and it's not even reaching the top half of the countdown.
How is What I Want still here? This song is so damn forgettable, I barely hear it on Hits 1, and every week I forget it's even still on the countdown.
twilight zone does not know whether it wants to be in the top 10 or not. This is like the 5th time it's left and reentered the top 10.
Ummmmm, why is undressed all the way up to #2? Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if it hit #1 next week because I'll take literally anything besides Sabrina.
Ugggggggg, Sabrina is back at #1 this week. She has gotten so damn overrated this past year and I really hope another song can take #1 next week.
That's all for now, see you all next week!
Last week's poll of the week results:
Best Top 5 Song This Week in 2011?

- LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem: 16.67 % (2 votes)
- OneRepublic - Good Life: 8.33 % (1 vote)
I thought Karma dropped out three weeks after #1. I remember it going 1 - 2 - 13 - off but I could be wrong
ReplyDeleteYou're right. I miscounted. Karma also left 3 weeks after it left #1. So Azizam ties Karma's record.
DeleteUndressed being number two brings me pure joy!
ReplyDeleteNO MORE ABYSSITY! (Abyss-obesity)
ReplyDeleteRIP Messy and hiiiieee How Did It End
