Hey guys, what's going on? Just a reminder to do my rankdown on all #1 songs on the weekend countdown. You have 3 weeks from today, July 16, to complete it. https://zestpond.blogspot.com/2022/06/every-1-song-on-weekend-countdown.html. This was a very bad week. A lot of really awful songs debuted hitbound, expect for one amazing one, the one to watch has one of the worst songs I've ever heard, and there have been some very questionable exits, jumps, and drops. Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Numb Little Bug - Em Beihold (-7) This song is kinda starting to get annoying, so I hope it leaves soon.

Debuts:
Congratulations to Amelia Moore for being the next one to watch...and having one of the worst songs I've heard this year. The production is super strange. But the worst part of this song is Amelia's voice. She's way oversinging here. She's actually screeching in the chorus. I feeeeeeeeeeel eeeeeeeeeverything. God this song is super annoying, and I hope it leaves quickly after her 1tw is over.
On a better note, Hits 1 revived I Love U from the dead. I thought this song was gone forever. It got barely any airplay, then it started getting more airplay, and here it is. This song is amazing. I like the Japanese style production, and Drew's voice is pretty good. Unfortunately, I think this song is gonna pull an iPad and not last much longer here.
Hitbound:
Baby Boo - Muni Long, Saweetie
Breakfast - Dove Cameron (Debut)
Life's Too Short - aespa (Debut)
Left and Right - Charlie Puth, Jung Kook (Debut)
sheluvme - Tai Verdes (Debut)
a letter to me - Dixie
Angry Woman - Ashe (Debut)
Disaster - Conan Gray (Debut)
Don't You Worry - Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, David Guetta
Carolina - Taylor Swift (Debut) (church hymn)
Twinkle Twinkle Little B**** - Leah Kate (Debut)
Glimpse of Us - Joji (church hymn)
i feel everything - Amelia Moore (Sunday Best)
die first - Nessa Barrett (Debut)
Booty - Saucy Santana, Latto
Dress - Charlotte Sands
Dove Cameron is back with another song, Breakfast. This song is very strange. The lyrics are very questionable. I eat guys like you for breakfast. This song is okay, I guess, not as good as Boyfriend.
A kpop group called aespa brings Life's Too Short. It's fine, I guess. Just a generic kpop song.
God, does Tai Verdes intentionally make the most boring, worst songs ever? 100sadsongs was terrible, and sheluvme is just as bad. This song is not interesting at all, and it sounds like Tai is singing while eating cheese or something.
For God's sake Hits 1, no one likes Ashe, stop trying to stan her!!! The production with Angry Woman is kinda cool, it's very alternative-ly, but Ashe's voice is not good at all.
Church Hymn alert!!! If you don't know, a church hymn is a song that is very boring/slow, has very little evolution in the production, or has uninteresting vocals (I got the idea from Hippo). And Taylor Swift's song, Carolina, fits all 3 bills. This song comes from the movie Where The Crawdads Sing. This is just a generic guitar ballad. There is hardly any evolution throughout the song. It feels like anyone could have sang this song, it even sounds like Billie Eilish is singing at some parts.
Nessa Barrett is back with die first. This song is just okay, it's not as good as dying on the inside. Nessa's voice is pretty good, but the production is kinda generic.
Conan Gray is back with Disaster. After the disaster (pun intended) of Jigsaw, I was not looking forward to this song. But I was pleasantly surprised. The production is really good, it almost reminds me of Stay. And Conan's voice is pretty good. I hope this becomes a hit here.
Leah Kate brings us a new song called Twinkle Twinkle Little B****. With a title like that, I didn't have high hopes. The Twinkle Twinkle Little Star sample actually works very well. And I like the pop punk production, and Leah sounds pretty good. This song is way better than 10 things i hate about you, and I hope it does well.
Now the best song for last. Charlie Puth and Jung Kook (from BTS) bring us Left And Right. And holy cow, the production is amazing. The two "I can feel you over here"s coming from different sides of the speakers is simply brilliant. And this song is just insanely catchy. Also Charlie and Jung sound really good here. I think this song is going to be a huge hit, and might even hit #1 (it might even be the one to dethrone Ass It Was).
Exits:
Falling Back - Drake
Only You - Eddie Benjamin, Alessia Cara
Want Want - Maggie Rogers
Grrrls - Lizzo
Until I Found You - Stephen Sanchez
Falling Back, Want Want, and Until I Found You find themselves in the abyss. Grrrls was terrible. Only You was good but was never gonna debut.
Abyss:
I Ain't Worried - OneRepublic
Falling Back - Drake
Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) - Kate Bush
Until I Found You - Stephen Sanchez
this is what falling in love feels like - JVKE
BREAK MY SOUL - Beyoncé
Want Want - Maggie Rogers
Get Into It (Yuh) - Doja Cat
Massive - Drake
Hits 1 replaced Falling Back with Massive. Massive is way better than Falling Back. Massive has a 90s house feel, and actually evolves throughout the song. I think I've found a Drake song that I actually like.
Beyonce is back on Hits 1 after 10 years with Break This Soul. This song is amazing. Like Massive, it has a 90s house feel, and Beyonce's voice is amazing, as always.
OneRepublic has a song from the Top Gun Maverick movie, I Ain't Worried. This song is just really fun. I'm a huge fan of whistling in songs, and this song is no exception. And Ryan Tedder sounds really good. I wish this song would become a hit here, but I doubt, this seems more like a Pulse song.
twinkle twinkle little blurb:
We lost Skyline and Skin Of My Teeth. Skyline was still good, and still deserved to stick around at least for a few more weeks. And Skin Of My Teeth adds another one week wonder to the growing list of this year's one week wonders.
About Damn Time, When You're Gone, Boyfriend, Bam Bam, and 10 things i hate about you are starting to get really overplayed and annoying. And Sweetest Pie got annoying a long time ago.
I seriously don't know how Late Night Talking is still here. It barely gets any airplay. It's lucky to get one or two spins a day. It's a shame, I do really like this song.
About Damn Time had a chance to overthrow Harry Styles, but it fell two spots. I'm gonna go on a rant. For some reason, Hits 1 hates black females. In the past 11 years, guess how many black females have reached #1 on the weekend countdown. 3!!!!! Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris - We Found Love, Cobra Starship ft. Sabi - You Make Me Feel, and fun ft. Janelle Monáe - We Are Young. There has never been a solo black female at #1, all 3 songs had help from a white male. Out of 175 songs that have been #1, 3 are from a black female - 1.7%! C'mon Hits 1, we need to do better.
Ass It Was is #1 for a 7th week in a row. The only song that has a chance of overthrowing it is Sunroof, but I highly doubt it. Get ready for Harry Styles to break the #1 record.
Bye for now, see you all next week!
