Exits:
Will It Ever Feel The Same? - Bazzi
100 Sad Songs - Tai Verdes
No One Dies From Love - Tove Lo
Will It Ever Feel The Same and 100 sad songs were awful, so I'm glad they're gone. No One Dies From Love was good, but never had a shot at debuting.
Mimi Webb is back with Goodbye. This is a slower song, but Mimi's voice is amazing, as always.
Post Malone brings a more pop-y song with Wrapped Around Your Finger. I defiantly like pop Malone more than rap Malone. A really catchy song, and I hope it debuts.
Alec Benjamin is back with Devil Doesn't Bargain. This is defiantly better than Speakers. A good song, not much to say.
I Feel Everything by Amelia Moore is weird, but still good.
Dermot Kennedy is back with Something To Someone. I really liked Outnumbered and Power Over Me, and this is a good song as well.
I have no idea who Maggie Rogers is, but wow, Want Want is an amazing song. The production is amazing and the chorus is catchy. I hope this song debuts, but I doubt it will, it's too alternative-y for Hits 1.
Now for my biggest disappointment of 2022. Panic! At The Disco is my 3rd favorite band of all time, after Maroon 5 and Coldplay. The last music they put out was in 2018, so I've been anxiously waiting for new music. I was exited when they announced Viva Las Vengeance and shared a 6 second preview. Imagine my disappointment when the song came out. This is just a generic rock song. This song certainly isn't bad, it's just underwhelming. I hope other songs on the album are better than this, or I'm gonna disown Brenden Urie. I will be doing a review of the album when it releases August 19.
Why is Don't Lose Sight still here. It's The Weekend by 88rising, and BIB 2.0, which was in hitbound for like 15 weeks. It's been in hitbound for 13 weeks and hasn't gotten a single spin.
Abyss:
Jiggle Jiggle - Duke & Jones, Louis Theroux
I Love You So - The Walters
Don't Forget My Love - Diplo, Miguel
this is what falling in love feels like - JVKE
Just A Cloud Away - Pharrell
Um, what is Jiggle Jiggle? This has got to be the weirdest song I've ever heard in my life, and I've listened to some pretty weird songs. But this song is somehow good? This is the shortest song Hits 1 has played, barely more than a minute and a half. I looked up this song and apparently this guy autotuned some random guy talking in a video and put a beat. I don't know how to feel about this song. I don't know if this is the best or worst song I've ever heard. This is also the first time the song of the week and countdown extra hasn't been in hitbound.
We've been doin' all this late night blurbin':
This week we lost Complete Mess, Love It When You Hate Me, Move, and Freaky Deaky. Complete Mess and Love It When You Hate Me were getting old, so I'm glad they're gone. Move and Freaky Deaky were still good and deserved better.
Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa collabed again since their 2018 hit One Kiss. This song goes for a more R&B vibe than One Kiss, but I like this song.
Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez is very weird. It sounds like a 50s song my grandparents would play. I'm not a fan of slower songs. I only like slow songs if the singer has a good voice. But Stephen Sanchez does not have a good voice. While this song isn't bad, I'm not a fan of it either.
Harry Styles has another song on the countdown with Late Night Talking. This song is much better than As (Ass) It Was. It sounds like a Prince song. I have a feeling this song will hit #1 cuz Hits 1 loves Harry Styles.
Lastly is Doja Cat with Get Into It (Yuh). This song is weird, and its time on Hits 1 is even weirder. This song came out a year ago in June. It was in hitbound a couple of weeks then disappeared. A couple of months ago Hits 1 started playing the song and it has finally debuted. I usually hate Doja Cat. Say So was okay, Need To Know and Kiss Me More were some of my least favorite songs last year, and Woman is annoying. Then she actually started putting out good music. Celebrity Skin was amazing and deserved better. Freaky Deaky is extremely catchy, and now we have Get Into It. This might be my favorite song on the countdown. It's just extremely fun and catchy.
Sweetest Pie is getting very overplayed and annoying, it's now my least favorite song on the countdown.
Enemy has had the biggest drop of the week 2 weeks in a row. Burn baby burn.
Flowers had the biggest jump of the week. That surprising because it's in the bottom 5 of airplay of all the countdown songs.
And to no one's surprise, Harry Styles is #1 for 4 weeks in a row. Can Lizzo overthrow him? Probably not. Hits 1 loves Harry Styles and it will probably be #1 for 20 weeks.
See you all next week!
