Debuts:

Wait, hold the phone, did Doja Cat just release an 80s synthpop banger? As you're probably aware, I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Doja Cat. She's released some incredible music like Say So, Celebrity Skin, and Get Into It (Yuh). But she's also released some garbage songs that instantly make me want to vomit like Need To Know, Agora Hills, and MASC. Luckily this song joins her incredible list. I already know this song will end up being a huge hit, and maybe give Doja Cat her first ever #1 song on Hits 1?

Oh joy, just what we needed. Sabrina Carpenter has released her new album Man's Next Friend, and here she is with Tears. This honestly isn't that bad. The production is pretty groovy and Sabrina sounds pretty good here. But I always say this to every Sabrina song that debuts hitbound, and it won't stay good for long when it inevitably spends its 900th week at #1.

Ok wow, I was not expecting Eminem to debut hitbound this week. He's back with Everybody's Looking At Me. Apparently this was originally an unreleased song from 2002, then he rerecorded it and added a few verses. This is really good. Eminem's rapping is amazing and reminds me a lot of his earlier songs. Hopefully this ends up being a hit.

Knox has released a deluxe version of Going, Going, Gone and he's back on hitbound for the millionth time with White Knuckles. The deluxe album only has 2 new songs, which doesn't really seem deluxe to me, but whatever. This song is just alright. The production is forgettable as hell, but at least Knox sounds great as always.

Exits:

  • Zara Larsson - Crush [2]
  • Alessi Rose - Dumb Girl [5]

Crush deserved better. And Dumb Girl was just, well, dumb.

PinkPantheress - Illegal [4]

Alex Warren - Eternity [6]

Mariah The Scientist - Burning Blue [7]

Ed Sheeran/Arijit Singh - Sapphire [7]

Great just what we needed, more random old Taylor Swift songs in the abyss.

Victoria was made up by a blurb:

Just 1 exit this week, Nice To Each Other. This was forgettable as hell and it just spent its entire run rotting in the bottom 3 spots. It seemed like something my local Kohl's store would play, not something that should be on pop radio.

Lol to Alex Warren having both the biggest jump and biggest drop. I'm surprised Ordinary dropped so hard since #1 songs usually just leave the countdown from the top 10.

Can Survive please stop surviving? This really needs to leave.

Golden keeps climbing towards that #1 spot.

Nice to see sombr holding off Sabrina from #1 yet again. Hopefully it can continue to do so.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Debuts:

The Adam Levine Solo Experience have returned to the countdown with a collab with Lil Wayne called Love Is Like. This is so much better than Priceless. The production is really fun and Adam and Lil Wayne both sound great here.

Wow, I was not expecting this to debut, but I'm very happy it did. Disco Lines make their countdown debut with a remix of Tinashe's No Broke Boys. This is s super fun EDM song and hopefully this can do well.

Lastly, Betty has reentered. This is actually the first ever AJR song that has reentered the countdown. This song has faded on me a bit, but I'm glad to see it back. Hopefully this doesn't flop again on its second run.

Wait, hold the phone, did Doja Cat just make an amazing song for once in her life? She returns to hitbound with Jealous Type. Wow, this is a lot better than her usual boring R&B crap. This has some cool 80s style production and Doja Cat actually sounds really good here. I have no doubt this song will become a huge hit.

Twenty One Pilots are back with Drum Show. This is a lot better than The Contract from 2 months ago. I really like the alt production here and Tyler Joseph sounds great as always.

sombr replaces himself with i wish i knew how to quit you. It's a shame, 12 to 12 was just starting to grow on me, and he had to release more boring crap. I'm not really a big fan of this. The production is very weird and boring but at least sombr sounds somewhat decent here.

Lastly we have more Dasha because Hits 1 hasn't stanned her enough already apparently. Like It Like That is pretty good. The production is fun but a bit generic but Dasha sounds great as always.

No broke blurbs:

We lost twilight zone, Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else, and Sally, When The Wine Runs Out. twilight zone and Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else were extremely old and really needed to leave. And Sally, When The Wine Runs Out was an amazing song and will end up being on my 10 top favorite songs list this year.

Only 3 songs dropped spots this week. The biggest drop was only a whopping 2 spots.

Omg it's a miracle, Nice To Each Other finally got out of the bottom 2 spots!...right into the bottom 3 spot.

Golden keeps climbing towards that #1 spot. I think this might have a chance at going #1.

Can Love Me Not please leave the top 5? It doesn't really need to be this high.

No Time To Talk jumped to #3. Hopefully this can get #1 soon.

Nice to see undressed holding off Sabrina from #1 again. Hopefully it can continue doing that for the foreseeable future.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Debuts:

Ed Sheeran is back on the countdown with A Little More after Sapphire flopped hard and Azizam still kinda flopped despite going #1. This is easily his best song from Play so far. The production is really fun and I love his rapping in the second verse. His rapping is always so hilarious, I wish he did more of it like in his older songs.

Lastly party 4 u reentered. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm, okay then? This song is getting very old and really did not need to come back. Hopefully this leaves very soon.

The Adam Levine Solo Experience have released their new album Love Is Like, and we have the title track with Lil Wayne of all people. This is pretty fun. Adam and Lil Wayne both sound good here, but this is a bit forgettable. But I have a feeling this could grow on me.

Great just what we needed, more weird forgettable Conan Gray crap. He released his new album Wishbone, and he's here with Caramel. This is slightly better than Vodka Cranberry, but it's still not great. The production is a lot more upbeat, but this song is nearly 4 minutes long and seems to drag on and on.

Oh lord, I haven't had to talk about this girl in a long time. Everyone's favorite Hits 1 plant Claire Rosinkranz is here with Dancer. This is actually pretty good. The production is pretty fun and her voice is great, but this still seems a bit generic.

Zara Larsson is back with Crush after Pretty Ugly flopped hard on the countdown. This is a lot better than Pretty Ugly. I really love the electropop production and her voice is great.

Audrey Hobert just released her debut album Who's The Clown, and she replaces herself with Thirst Trap. This is so much better than Wet Hair but not as great as Sue Me. The production is solid, the lyrics are pretty funny, and she sounds really good here.

Lastly we have a song that's been trending for 2 months that Hits 1 has finally picked up on. Disco Lines make their Hits 1 debut with a remix of Tinashe's No Broke Boys. This is an incredible EDM song. The house production is super fun and Tinashe sounds great here. Hopefully this song can end up debuting the countdown.

Exits:

  • Reneé Rapp - You'd Like That Wouldn't You [2]
  • Michael Clifford - remember when [3]
  • Demi Lovato - Fast [1]
  • Audrey Hobert - Wet Hair [3]
  • Maroon 5 - California [4]

Fast finds itself in the abyss and it really deserved to debut the countdown this week, hopefully it can debut next week. None of the other songs will be missed.

Estimated total for 2025: 183 (+2)

Yay! Betty is back in the abyss. Hopefully this can reenter the countdown.

Blurb trap:

We lost Hot Girl Problems and Busy Woman. Good riddance to both of them. Hot Girl Problems faded on me hard so thankfully it only lasted one week. And Busy Woman was super annoying and didn't deserve to go #1.

I guess Nice To Each Other is just gonna rot in the bottom 5 its entire countdown run.

Let's hope Survive does not survive much longer.

Nice to see Just Keep Watching getting a huge jump even though I don't think it needed to reenter the countdown in the first place.

I have no idea how Golden is doing so well on the countdown and especially on Billboard. Did it really deserve to go #1 there?

Nice to see No Time To Talk in the top 5.

Nice to see undressed at #1. I'll take literally anything besides Sabrina at #1 at this point.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Debuts:

Conan Gray is back on the countdown after 2 years with Vodka Cranberry. What happened to Conan Gray? He used to be so good. Maniac, Overdrive, and Never Ending Song were all amazing. But recently he's started making these weird boring songs. Vodka Cranberry is just too damn boring and Conan doesn't really sound that great.

Oh great, just when The Kid LAROI was starting to become good, he's turned back into The Mid LAROI. HOT GIRL PROBLEMS is just some boring forgettable trap song and his voice doesn't sound that good.

Remember when I said this song was just gonna spend 1 week in hitbound then drop out? Yeah, that did not age well at all. KATSEYE return to the countdown with Gabriela. This has grown on me slightly since it first debuted hitbound. This is pretty fun and the girls sound great as always.

Chappell Roan returns to the countdown with The Subway after The Giver flopped hard. I usually love any thing by Chappell Roan, but I'm not feeling this song. This reminds me of all the things I hated about Kaleidoscope. But at least the production on The Subway is a lot more upbeat than Kaleidoscope, but this is still super forgettable.

After getting purged 2 weeks ago, Just Keep Watching randomly decided to reenter after hardly any airplay. This is a great song, but it started to fade on me a bit and I don't think it needed to reenter.

The Jonas Brothers have released their new album Greetings From Your Hometown, and collab with Dean Lewis on Loved You Better. This is alright. The production is extremely generic but the brothers and Dean Lewis both sound good together.

We have yet another new album, this time Machine Gun Kelly, who I still refuse to call him by his new name mgk, has released his new album lost americana, and replaces himself with cant stay here. This is slightly better than miss sunshine, but this is still extremely forgettable.

Oh great, we have some random nobody named Maeve, who I know nothing about since her Spotify description just says "nyc", is here with We're Not Together. Apparently Mikey Piff ran into her at a concert and decided to listen to her music. If it's that easy to get Mikey to play your music, then I need to start meeting him at concerts. Anyways, for the song itself, this is extremely forgettable, but she does have a great voice. Hopefully she releases a more upbeat song.

Crash Adams have released a new album, and instead of picking up a new song from it, they pick up on a song that dropped out of hitbound 2 months ago New Heart. This is a fun song and I like the EDM production, but I wish they would have picked up on an actual new song like Hot Water.

We have new Ed Sheeran this week with A Little More. This is a fun little song. The production is pretty groovy and I like his rapping towards the middle of the song. Ed's rapping is quite funny and I wish he did more of it like in his older songs.

Lastly we have a weird collab between Marshmello and Jelly Roll with Holy Water, which I guess isn't that weird because Marshmello has collabed with other country artists in the past. This song is alright. The EDM production is kinda forgettable but Jelly Roll sounds great as always.

Exits:

  • Jonas Brothers - I Can't Lose [3]
  • SIENNA SPIRO - You Stole The Show [2]
  • Machine Gun Kelly - miss sunshine [2]
  • d4vd/jasontheween - Summer Uptown [4]
  • Jessie Murph - 1965 [3]

I Can't Lose finds itself in the abyss. 1965 was a funny song but it was starting to get annoying. The rest won't be missed.

I have some sad, or to some people happy, news. I've decided to finally remove Daylight from the abyss. It's barely getting one or two spins a week now and it's extremely old. And like Daniel said it's probably just gold spins. Goodbye old friend, you will not be missed. Also, I'm removing Disease and Not Like Us because they're both also getting very old and are probably just recurrents at this point.

Holy blurbs:

We lost Betty, Priceless, Easy Lover, Azizam, and Messy. Betty deserved so much better than what it got. Priceless was extremely mid and I don't know how it lasted as long as it did. I'm surprised Easy Lover already left but I'm fine it left before it got annoying. Messy was extremely forgettable and did not deserve to be all the way in the top 5. And Azizam left only 3 weeks after it was #1, which is crazy. And I believe this is a record. Shivers, Karma, and Anti-Hero all left the countdown 4 weeks after they left #1, and I can't think of any others.

Only 2 songs dropped spots this week. There was a week where only 1 song dropped spots, but I can't remember off the top of my head what week that was.

Can Blue Strips just go away already please? It's literally just taking up space and it's not even reaching the top half of the countdown.

How is What I Want still here? This song is so damn forgettable, I barely hear it on Hits 1, and every week I forget it's even still on the countdown.

twilight zone does not know whether it wants to be in the top 10 or not. This is like the 5th time it's left and reentered the top 10.

Ummmmm, why is undressed all the way up to #2? Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if it hit #1 next week because I'll take literally anything besides Sabrina.

Ugggggggg, Sabrina is back at #1 this week. She has gotten so damn overrated this past year and I really hope another song can take #1 next week.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
