2. Harry Styles - Aperture (+1) (3w) (PK: 2)

1. Louis Tomlinson - Imposter (+1) (3w) (1 week at #1)

Debuts:

Charlie Puth collabs with famous saxophonist Kenny G on Cry. I'm a sucker for a good saxophone outro, otherwise this probably wouldn't have ended up debuting as this song is on the forgettable side.

Hilary Duff makes her first ever appearance on my charts with Roommates. It took a month, but this has grown on me quite a bit.

Last year's #1 song Shadowboxing reenters this week. I forgot how great this was, and it got robbed on its first run only lasting 4 weeks, so why not bring it back.

We have the first of 2 Zara Larsson songs debuting this week. She collabs with PinkPantheress on Stateside. This song is super fun, and PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson sound great together.

We have quite possibly the stupidest song since Jiggle Jiggle. Ice Spice debuts with Big Guy from the SpongeBob movie. This song is so stupid, but it's so fun to listen to.

Paul Russell is no stranger to my charts. He makes his 7th appearance on my charts with his latest bop High Maintenance. This is yet another banger from him and will do quite well on my charts.

Lasty we have the second Zara Larsson song debuting this week. Lush Life was released all the way back in 2015, floated around on pop radio in 2017 but ended up flopping, but it looks like it's regaining popularity again. Hopefully pop radio is kinder on Lush Life on its second time around.

Bubbling Under:

  • Dream/PmBata - Adrenaline
  • Calvin Harris/Kasabian - Release The Pressure
  • Sofi Tukker/J Balvin - COOK
  • ILLENIUM/Ellie Goulding - Don't Want Your Love

Last year's top 5:

  1. Tom Grennan - Shadowboxing (+6) (1/2 weeks at #1)
  2. Vella - All My Love (+2)
  3. Kygo/OneRepublic - Chasing Paradise (-2) (1/1 week at #1)
  4. Tate McRae - Sports car (+5)
  5. Bowling for Soup - The Rock Show (Debut)

Last year's debuts:

  • Bowling for Soup - The Rock Show (#5)
  • R3HAB/Mufasa & Hypeman/RANI - Believe (Shooting Stars) (#6)
  • Robin Schulz/CYRIL/Sam Martin - World Gone Wild (#7)
  • JENNIE/Dominic Fike - Love Hangover (#8)

1. Taylor Swift - The Fate of Ophelia [=] {17w} [8 weeks at #1]

Debuts:

After spending a month in the abyss, silent treatment finally debuts. This song is fine I guess. The production is basic but still nice and Freya Skye sounds great. I don't see this song doing well but anything is possible I guess.

It's the moment we've all been waiting for. Harry Styles makes his grand return to the countdown after 3 years with Aperture. This song is amazing and was worth the wait. I wasn't sold on this song on first listen, but after a few listens, I've decided I like it. It has some weird new-wave disco production, but it's actually super unique and fun, and Harry sounds great. Get ready for this song to spend multiple weeks at #1.

Countdown Extra: Louis Tomlinson - Imposter

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Bruno Mars - I Just Might [+23]

Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Tie between Ed Sheeran/Arijit Singh - SapphireSophia James - So Unfair. and sombr - back to friends [-5]

Olivia Dean - A Couple Minutes [Debut]

Noah Kahan - The Great Divide [Debut]

Ella Langley - Choosin' Texas [Debut]

Louis Tomlinson - Imposter [2]

Paul Russell - High Maintenance [Debut]

Jordi - Over Love [Debut]

senses - tiptoeing [3]

Ice Spice - Big Guy [Debut]

STELLA LEFTY - Thinking 'bout You [2]

Megan Moroney - Wish I Didn't [2]

Machine Gun Kelly - times of my life [5]

Also Available On Survey

Sabrina Carpenter - When Did You Get Hot? [14]

Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun [2]

Pitbull/Lil Jon - Damn I Love Miami [2]

Olivia Dean is back with A Couple Minutes. I have no idea what I just listened to. This song kind of sucks. It's some weird boring soul song and Olivia sounds terrible. Hopefully this doesn't end up becoming a hit.

Oh joy, we have more Noah Kahan because we totally needed more from him. Luckily The Great Divide isn't as boring as Stick Season and You're Gonna Go Far were, but this is still kinda forgettable. This is just some forgettable folk pop song but Noah sounds decent I guess.

I guess Hits 1 is picking up on Cracker Barrel music now. Country singer Ella Langley makes her Hits 1 debut with Choosin' Texas. This is a fun little country song, a bit on the forgettable side though.

After having a bunch of crap on hitbound, we finally have an amazing song. Paul Russell returns to hitbound with High Maintenance. This song is nothing short of a banger. This song sounds like a mix between Say Cheese and Eat Pray Love. Hopefully this ends up becoming a hit.

Oh God, I really wish I could have stayed forgotten that Jordi existed, but I guess Hits 1 wanted to remind us that she was a thing. She's back on hitbound with Over Love. I will say this is a big step up from Hate You that spent 13 weeks in hitbound, but isn't as great as her last hitbound dropout Just a Friend. Let's just hope this doesn't spend 13 weeks in hitbound.

Never in my life did I ever expect Hits 1 would ever pick up a song from a SpongeBob movie, but here we are. Ice Spice is here with Big Guy from the soundtrack from the latest SpongeBob movie. This song is incredibly stupid, but it's so stupid is good. Literally half the song is just her repeating "SpongeBob big guy pants" over and over. But this song is just so stupid it's hard to hate.

Lastly we have a random SIENNA SPIRO reentry because why not. You Stole The Show which dropped out of hitbound back in August has reentered. Apparently this is starting to trend now. I honestly have no idea because I don't get the appeal of her. Her music is so boring, and her voice makes me want to bang my head against a wall. Let's just hope this drops out of hitbound again, but I have a bad feeling this is gonna end up debuting the countdown.

Exits:

  • Sabrina Carpenter - Such a Funny Way [5]
  • Doechii/SZA - girl, get up. [4]
  • The Kid LAROI/Lithe - RATHER BE [3]
  • Hilary Duff - Roommates [2]
  • Charli XCX - Wall of Sound [2]
  • Stephen Sanchez - SWEET LOVE [2]

We have a rare Sabrina Carpenter hitbound dropout, her last and only hitbound dropout being Fast Times in 2022, but it will probably enter the abyss soon. Roommates finds itself in the abyss. girl, get up was great but I didn't see it debuting. RATHER BE and Wall of Sound were super mid. I'm really sad to see SWEET LOVE go, it was just starting to grow on me. It seemed perfectly radio friendly, a lot more radio friendly than Evangeline was and that made the countdown.

2026 total dropouts: 27

Estimated total for 2026: 156 (+13)

Abyss

Nick Jonas - Gut Punch [1]

Hilary Duff - Roommates [1]

Zara Larsson - Lush Life [2]

Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun [2]

ROLE MODEL - Writing's On The Wall [2]

t.A.T.u. - All the Things She Said [3]

Pitbull/Lil Jon - Damn I Love Miami [3]

MAX/Andy Grammer - The Thing I Love [5]

Sabrina Carpenter - When Did You Get Hot? [14]

SpongeBob, big guy blurbs:

We lost The Big Goodbye for a second time and Gabriela. The Big Goodbye was a great song, but it was a bit on the forgettable side, and didn't really need to reenter in the first place. And I have no idea how Gabriela managed to last over 6 months.

Oh my gosh, YUKON managed to jump a whopping 1 spot from the bottom spot! I didn't think it was possible!

What was the point of Sapphire having a high reentry if it was just gonna drop 5 spots the next week?

Can Die On This Hill please stop jumping?

Vodka Cranberry somehow managed to rebound after having that massive drop from #2 last week.

Not a lot of movement in the top 10, only 1 top 10 entrant.

Woah, I Just Might had the biggest jump we've ever seen +23 since good 4 u jumped 25 spots to #1 in 2021. This finally has a chance to overthrow The Fate of Ophelia which has been #1 for way too long.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Debuts:

JYT finally made a great song for once in their lives with Say Less. Well, I mean, this is only the second song they ever made, so 1/2 aren't bad odds. This gives off early 2000s NSYNC vibes. I'm sure Hits 1 will pick up on this song soon.

Jason Derulo is no stranger to my charts, DELETE marks his 10th song on my charts. This is a fun little saxophone bop, not much else to say.

After releasing 2 month ago, Boyband finally debuts. Better late than never, I guess.

Speaking of 5SOS, Telephone Busy has grown on me again and reenters.

Disco Lines make their return to my charts after No Broke Boys went #1 last year. They're here with starlight, a remake of Madonna's 1983 hit Lucky Star. This is yet another banger from them.

Bubbling Under:

  • Sia - Fist Fighting A Sandstorm
  • Sia - Summer Rain
  • Paul Russell - High Maintenance
  • Ice Spice - Big Guy

Last year's top 5:

  1. Kygo/OneRepublic - Chasing Paradise (+5) (1/1 week at #1)
  2. Porter Robinson - Cheerleader (-1) (1/1 week at #1)
  3. EMELINE - 99 boys (+1)
  4. Vella - All My Love (Debut)
  5. Cheat Codes - Don't Leave (Debut)

Last year's debuts:

  • Vella - All My Love (#4)
  • Cheat Codes - Don't Leave (#5)
