Debuts:
Marshmello and the Jonas Brothers collab for a second time since Leave Before You Love Me in 2021 with Slow Motion. This is a decent EDM song, the Jonas Brothers sound good, but this is very forgettable.
Teddy Swims brings his second song on the countdown with Guilty. This is slightly better than Bad Dreams. This is a lot more fun and Teddy sounds great.
Tate McRae is back with Sports car. This is a great song, but it might not be as great as I first thought it was. I can already tell this is gonna get as annoying as it's ok i'm ok and 2 hands were.

Something very strange has happened in hitbound that hasn't happened since 2022 and is only the second time this has happened as far as I know. All My Love left the countdown and reentered hitbound. That in itself isn't strange because songs did that all the time in 2020 and 2021. But All My Love Sunday Bested last week, so it technically never reentered hitbound. The only other song this has happened to was Until I Found You in 2022, when it also left the countdown and reentered hitbound while it was still a Sunday Best.
The Weeknd released his new album Hurry Up Tomorrow, and here he is with Cry For Me. This is fine but kinda forgettable.
JENNIE collabed with everyone's favorite cricket master Dominic Fike with Love Hangover. This is a very strange and weird song, but it kinda slaps, especially in the last minute.
Hits 1 can we please stop picking up on every Nessa Barrett song? LOVE LOOKS PRETTY ON YOU is yet another boring forgettable song from her.
Morgan Wallen replaces himself with I'm The Problem. This is slightly better with Smile, at least this song has a beat, but this is very forgettable.
Hits 1 is very late with picking up on these next 2 songs. Kendrick Lamar is here with squabble up. This is kinda fun, I guess, but this seems very annoying.
Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn collab for a second time with Body Talk. This is a lot better than Thank God. The production is pretty cool and they both sound great together.
Exits:
Griff - last night's mascara [12]
Tyla - PUSH 2 START [2]
SZA - Drive [6]
Morgan Wallen - Smile [3]
last night's mascara finds itself in the abyss, PUSH 2 START was mid, and good riddance to Drive and Smile which sucked.
2025 Total Dropouts: 22
Estimated total for 2025: 143 (+2)
Abyss
Griff - last night's mascara
ROSÉ - toxic till the end
The Marías - No One Noticed
JENNIE - Mantra
Lady Gaga - Disease
Akon - Akon's Beautiful Day
Harry Styles - Daylight
Blurb hangover:
We lost All My Love, Popular, and Defying Gravity. Defying Gravity was mid, Popular was great but was getting old, and RIP to All My Love which became a one week wonder right when it was starting to grow on me. Hopefully it comes back.
Burning Down didn't receive a single spin this week. Why did it jump 5 spots?
Why is Apple still jumping? Brat summer ended 6 months ago.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER still refuses to go away.
Why is Good News almost in the top 5? It's not doing that well on pop radio.
Bed Chem dropped a spot. We might be spared from getting more Sabrina Flopenter at #1.
That's all for now, see you all next week!
Poll of the week results:

Michael Godcagi - Midwest Kid
The Wldlfe - What If You Change? (They're opening for Knox on tour)
FLORE - Self Sabotage
Qing Madi - Gimme Your Love
almost monday & jordana - Jupiter

Eddie Benjamin - MANIAC
JORDY - Pink Pony Club (:EDMIsAmazing: cover of Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club)
Dora Jar - Timelapse, an artist who Gracie stans started a petition to replace her as an opening act for Gracie's european leg.
Also, Would you mind reviewing HOTF again? I really missed seeing what you thought of those songs.
P.S. When I mentioned last week's ai countdown or last week's real countdown, i know how i worded it was confusing but I meant that for next week, you should use this week's AI Countdown instead of this week's Real Countdown, and make it its own seperate thing.
Also, What prompt did you use for asking AI to create the countdown? I can't seem to have it create anything.
Delete:wallofsongsuggestions:
DeleteRipple - pretty fun
The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived - boring
Midwest Kid - Michael Midcagi
What If You Change? - forgettable
Self Sabotage - forgettable
Gimme Your Love - forgettable
Jupiter - fun but still slightly forgettable
Hundred Mile High - Mark Ambor clone
MANIAC - I'm usually a huge Eddie Benjamin stan but this was way too boring
Pink Pony Club - decent cover
Timelapse - boring
none of the songs were that great and won't make my charts
No, I'm not reviewing your 2 hour show full of forgettable music where I don't remember what the song sounds like 2 seconds after the song is over.
Oh I get what you mean by the AI countdown post thing. Yeah, I'll use last week's AI countdown and it will become its own separate countdown.
Make sure you're using DeepSeek because Claude hasn't been relevant in 6 months, here's the website https://chat.deepseek.com/
Make sure "DeepThink" is enabled, and this is the prompt I used: "based on last week's countdown and this week's airplay update, predict the top 30 songs for this week" then enter the countdown and airplay update underneath it.
Okay, thanks. That's what I did, I tried to have it make top 10 predictions for the next 4 months.
DeleteAlso It's fine you don't have to review HOTF, I was just wondering lol.
I know you said the Every #1 on Mediabase/R&R countdown was very weird, Would you mind checking the formula which is on the sheet I sent you and maybe try something that's not as weird? What was the issue?
Also, Is it Okay if I dm you via pulse messages or?
DeleteThe formula itself isn't weird, it's just weird that you chose to make older songs have higher priority over newer songs. But it's your countdown so I'm not gonna change anything.
DeleteI mean, feel free to send me Pulse messages, but I'm not gonna look at them.
DeleteWhy won't you look at my pulse messages though? Is it against me?
DeleteWell If I just used raw crownnote points, the newer songs would dominate and it wouldn't really feel like an all-time list, if that makes sense.
DeleteYour message is gonna be one of two things, maybe even both:
Delete1. You need me to look at/work on one of your spreadsheets
2. You're gonna beg me to rejoin Discord
And I'm not letting any of those things happen
I wasn't going to do either to you...though...
DeleteI just want a way to send you messages more instantly where you see it more often, and I know your Pulse messages give you notifications to your email.
DeleteEthan, I made a thing. What do you think? What artist should I do next?
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hz2nmspT2jk
Great video, but what does Fantasy Chart mean and where is the data coming from? I don't have any artist suggestions.
DeleteFantasy Chart basically means its not real, and I made a chart history based on if people actually knew who she was. The data doesn't come from anywhere in particular, i made it up.
DeleteEthan, You should do a Fantasy Chart History video for AJR if you controlled the charts.
DeleteMaybe. If I ever feel like making chart history videos again I might make one.
DeleteIn the meantime i made this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usrvjNDwHW0
DeleteNice
DeleteVella - All My Love shouldn't be listed ad the abyss cuz it's still in hb
ReplyDeleteYou're right, I'm dumb and forgot it reentered hitbound
DeleteOptimist by Crash Adams has also been getting abyss spins
ReplyDeleteOptimist is still in hitbound so it's not in the abyss.
