Ugh, how is Busy Woman still #1? It's time to bring back Sabrina the Clown.
Also, Bubby has opened up voting for round 2 of March Madness. Go vote, because last time there were only 3 votes and we need a lot more votes than that. https://bunnyfunny382929.blogspot.com/2025/03/march-madness-2025.html

Debuts:
The Jonas Brothers bring their second song on the countdown with No Time To Talk. This samples the classic 70s song Stayin' Alive. This is super fun and the brothers sound great as always.
Audrey Hobert has been announced as our new one to watch, and she debuts with Sue me. This is a fun little bop and she has a great voice, but this feels a bit generic.
Countdown Extra: Addison Rae - Fame is a Gun
Biggest Jump Of The Week: Tate McRae - Just Keep Watching [+13]
Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Myles Smith - Nice To Meet You [-5]
Last year's #1 song: Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso (2/6 weeks at #1)
Favorite song last year: Pitbull/Ne-Yo/AFROJACK - 2 The Moon
Least favorite song last year: Gracie Abrams/Taylor Swift - us.
Most missed song: NewJeans - Super Shy (2023)

Oh goodie, 9 debuts. Let's get started!
None of the debuts were that great this week. Case in point this song. Unfortunately, Lewis Capaldi is back to making music, and he's here with Survive. I can't stand Lewis Capaldi at all, and this is no exception. The production is actually decent here, it's not as boring as most of his music is. But his voice is so damn annoying. He's in full pencil sharpener mode here, and he's oversinging way too much. Let's hope this doesn't become a hit. But knowing Hits 1, this will almost certainly become a hit.
We have more Reneé Rapp this week with Mad. This is pretty fun, but it's not nearly as good as Leave Me Alone.
Lizzo just dropped an album out of nowhere, and she has collabed with SZA for a second time since that insanely forgettable song Special in 2023. IRL kinda slaps, and Lizzo and SZA both sound good, but this feels kinda forgettable.
We have some random song from an anime called KPop Demon Hunters with Golden. This is a fine Kpop song, but insanely forgettable.
Lorde has released her new album Virgin, and she's here with Shapeshifter. I listened to the album, and except for What Was That, it was an extremely mid album, which is disappointing. Lorde sounds good here, but this is just very boring.
KATSEYE are back with Gameboy. This is pretty fun, but feels very generic.
Kesha is back with THE ONE. I wish they would have picked up on ATTENTION instead, that was so much better than this. This is just extremely forgettable.
Great, just what we needed, a collab between 2 of the most overrated artists right now. Alex Warren and ROSÉ collab on On My Mind. Everyone seems to love this song, but this sounds extremely mid. The production feels very generic and boring, but Alex and ROSÉ do sound great together.
Ending off the new debuts, we have Hits 1 plant flowerovlove with new friends. This is pretty fun, but along with the other debuts this week, this is extremely forgettable.
Exits:
- Ed Sheeran - Drive [1]
- Addison Rae - Fame is a Gun [2] SOTW
- Haven Madison - Castle [3]
- Alex Warren/Jelly Roll - Bloodline [5]
- Alexander Stewart - Here Again [3]
- Tyla - Bliss [6]
- Jon Bellion/Luke Combs - WHY [5]
Bloodline deserved better. Drive finds itself in the abyss. Fame is a Gun might be in the abyss as it left despite being the countdown extra. And the rest of the songs were mid.
2025 total dropouts: 98
Estimated total for 2025: 176 (+5)
Abyss
Ed Sheeran - Drive [1]
Tate McRae - Revolving door [1]
d4vd - Feel It [1]
Avril Lavigne/Simple Plan - Young & Dumb [2]
Damiano David - The First Time [5]
Shinedown - Three Six Five [7]
Maren Morris - lemonade [7]
Billie Eilish - WILDFLOWER [8]
Justice/Tame Impala - Neverender [14]
Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us [17]
Lady Gaga - Disease [21]
Harry Styles - Daylight [162]
I thought Revolving door would have reentered this week. I guess it's gonna rot in the abyss instead.
Blurbshifter:
We lost Sapphire and Feel It. I'm surprised Sapphire flopped so hard. But I think Drive might be the next single instead. Feel It was a great song but it was starting to fade on me so I don't mind it left. Also with Feel It gone, we have finally gotten rid of every song that was still on the countdown from 2024. I can't believe it took until almost July for that to happen.
Blue Strips has gotten quite annoying recently and now becomes my orange song. Listening to Jessie Murph's voice makes me want to slam my head against the wall.
Nice to see Just Keep Watching getting a huge jump.
Oh joy, Manchild is already in the top 10 and is probably gonna hit #1 very soon.
Aww, it's sad to see Sally, When The Wine Runs Out get blocked from #1. Maybe it still has a chance to reach #1?
Bro, this is just getting ridiculous and very clown-like now. Busy Woman was the least played countdown song this week, and it still stayed at #1. I'm convinced Sabrina is just paying Hits 1 to keep it at #1, that's the only logical explanation I can come up with. This really needs to leave #1 immediately.
That's all for now, see you all next week!

Poll of the week:
Does the Lewis Capaldi pencil sharpener joke originate from him having a song called pointless? Or is that unrelated
ReplyDeleteNo, it was from Waffle's 2020 worst list when he called him a pencil sharpener https://wafflescountdownreviews.blogspot.com/2020/12/year-end-special-my-top-10-worst-songs.html
DeleteI can see wildflower being the first four entry
ReplyDeleteShocked to see Super Shy as most missed
