Debuts:
After dropping out of hitbound and spending a month in the abyss, Backwards finally debuts. Why is Hits 1 picking up on a random 4 month old non-single from Greetings From Your Hometown? This isn't trending anywhere as far as I know, nor is any other stations playing it. This song is forgettable as hell and I rather Hits 1 didn't pick up on it. The production is super generic and the brothers don't really sound that great. Hopefully this ends up flopping.
Lastly, The Big Goodbye has reentered for some reason. This is a great song, but it's gotten very old and really did not need to reenter out of nowhere. If any AJR song should have reentered, it should have been Betty.
Countdown Extra: Freya Skye - silent treatment

Sabrina Carpenter - When Did You Get Hot? [9]
Just one debut this week. For Christmas, Sabrina Carpenter decided to "bless" us with a bonus track from Man's Best Friend. Such A Funny Way debuts this week. This is fine, I guess. This doesn't sound that much different from her usual songs. The production is a bit on the slower side, but it's still nice and Sabrina sounds good here.
Exits:
- Tame Impala - Dracula [7]
Dracula finds itself in the abyss, so hopefully it debuts soon.
2026 total dropouts: 8
Estimated total for 2026: 104 (-17)
Abyss
Tame Impala - Dracula [1]
MOLIY/Silent Addy/Skillibeng/Shenseea - Shake It To The Max (FLY) (Remix) [3]
Jackson Wang - Made Me A Man [4]
Sabrina Carpenter - When Did You Get Hot? [9]
I'm scared I'll never blurb again:
We lost I'm Not There For You and The Dead Dance. I'm Not There For You was extremely mid and never should have debuted in the first place. The Dead Dance was a great song but it was getting very old and really needed to leave.
CHANEL has grown on me and now becomes my purple song.
RIP to So Unfair.
It only look a month and a half, but Still Don't Care has finally escaped the bottom 5.
Um, how is Vodka Cranberry at #3? Okay, then.
Out of nowhere, Taylor Swift replaced herself at #1 with Opalite. How is this #1? This has even less airplay than The Fate of Ophelia. And it's not like Opalite went #1 on Mediabase. I literally have no idea how this is #1. I guess the Swifties rigging the voting poll is the only thing keeping this song #1.
That's all for now, see you all next week!
