Debuts:
Sue me has reentered the countdown after being featured on the Off Campus show. Nice to see this making a comeback. This has grown on me quite a bit since it left the countdown back in November. This song is super fun, and Audrey sounds great. I know this song already did well on its first run, but maybe it could do even better on its second run.
KATSEYE are back on the countdown with Animal after Internet Girl flopped earlier this year. This song is super fun. It kinda feels like an APT ripoff, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. And the girls sound great as always. Hopefully this song ends up becoming big.

Ariana Grande just released her new album petal, and we have the title track from it. I mean, this is alright, I guess. It has an interesting bass line. But other than that, this song is pretty underwhelming. At least it's better than hate that i made you love me, which has gotten quite annoying.
We have brand new Slayyyter this week with brand new chanel$. This seems very underwhelming. The dance pop production is very basic, and Slayyyter doesn't really sound that good here. This isn't nearly as amazing as DANCE.
Robyn finally makes her long-awaited return to Hits 1, with a collab with Zara Larsson called Talk To Me, Zara. Robyn hasn't been on Hits 1 in nearly 20 years. She hasn't been seen since With Every Heartbeat dropped out of hitbound back in 2007. And Hits 1 never picked up on Dancing On My Own. This song is super fun. The synthpop production is fun and Robyn and Zara Larsson both sound great together. Hopefully this ends up becoming a hit.
Ok, we really did not need more Midgan Wallen. He's back with Been By Now. I will give him this, this is slightly less mid than most of his recent songs have been. The country production is pretty upbeat and Morgan sounds good. I guess it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if this ended up becoming a hit.
I did not have a Lauren Spencer Smith EDM song on my BINGO card for 2026. She's featured on Stay by some German DJ named BUNT, who I know nothing about because his Spotify profile literally only says "take it easy". Anyways, this song is pretty interesting. Lauren Spencer Smith sounds good as per usual, and the EDM drop is nice. I don't see this becoming a hit, but who knows.

Miniblurbs:
We lost Need Your Love and Click Clack Symphony. Need Your Love was super mid and did not need to last as long as it did. Click Clack Symphony was an incredible song and will end up being on my best list this year. It's a shame it flopped as hard as it did.
Orbiter overtook The Time Of My Life as my orange countdown song. Orbiter is literally just 5 minutes of the most boring song ever. This really needs to die a quick death before this fades on me even more.
I'm glad Choosin' Texas is dropping hard, but it really needed to leave a long time ago.
Nice to see Earrings finally starting to jump. This has grown on me quite a bit.
Repeat It is doing a lot better than I thought it would, considering how poorly Hits 1 usually treats EDM.
Nice to see Dracula back in the top 5. Even if this song is extremely old, it's still one of my favorite songs this year.
hate that i made you love me jumped to the top 5 this week. Ariana has yet to have a #1 song on the countdown, and I really hope her most mid song isn't the one that finally goes #1.
FEVER DREAM is #1 yet again this week, with no end in sight.
