Debuts:

Gracious I didn't think this song was ever gonna debut. After dropping out of hitbound back in July and spending 12 weeks in the abyss, Eternity finally debuts. I would have much preferred that this spent an eternity in the abyss and didn't debut. The production is very underwhelming and just feels like a carbon copy of Ordinary.

Taylor Swift was dangerously close to losing her streak of having at least one song on the countdown every year since 2007, but she keeps it with 2 months to spare. She's here with the lead single from The Life of a Showgirl, The Fate of Ophelia. This song is just pretty good. The production is fairly upbeat but kinda forgettable but Taylor does sound great here. Not the best song I've heard from her, but far from the worst.

Countdown Extra: Tyler, The Creator - Sugar On My Tongue

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Ed Sheeran - Camera [+17]

Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Ravyn Lenae - Love Me Not [-7]

Last year's #1 song: Chappell Roan - HOT TO GO! (2/2 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Kesha - JOYRIDE

Least favorite song last year: Damiano David/Labrinth - Silverlines

Most missed song: SHAED - Trampoline (2019)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Yung Gravy - Debbie

Up first we have a very weird collab that somehow works. David Guetta, Teddy Swims, and Tones and I have collabed on Gone Gone Gone. This song is amazing. I really love the production, it reminds me of Love Me Again by John Newman. Most people seem to hate Tones And I's voice, but I'm one of a few who really enjoys her unique voice. She and Teddy Swims both sound great here. Hopefully this ends up being a big hit.

Seriously Hits 1, can you please stop trying to make SIENNA SPIRO a thing? She's back for the third time with Die On This Hill. This is her weakest song so far. I will admit she does have a great voice, but the production is just way too underwhelming.

It's funny, we had no music from any One Direction members for over a year, then Louis Tomlinson and ZAYN both drop songs on consecutive weeks. He collabs with JISOO from BLACKPINK with EYES CLOSED. This is super underwhelming. The production is super forgettable but JISOO and ZAYN do sound pretty good together.

Madison Beer replaces herself with bittersweet. Like the title suggests, this song is just bittersweet. This is her weakest song so far. The EDM production is very underwhelming and boring here. yes baby was so much better than this.

We have another artist replacing herself this week. Demi Lovato and Madison Beer are battling it out who can release the most EDM songs, and she's here with Kiss. Madison Beer keeps getting worse and worse, but luckily Demi is getting better and better. Kiss is extremely fun and the EDM production is incredible. This is a lot better than Fast and Here All Night, so I guess her next song will be even better than this.

It has been a very hot minute since we've heard from Maisie Peters. Her hitbound dropout in 2023 Lost The Breakup was an incredible song and a former #1 on my personal charts. So I was excited to see she released new music. Sadly, Audrey Hepburn kinda sucks. The production is extremely boring, but at least Maisie's voice is incredible as always.

Lastly, we have a collab that I'm sure Hits 1 is gonna eat up. Former Hits 1 to watch Eddie Benjamin and Shawn Mendes have collabed on HOME. I usually love anything Eddie Benjamin. Weatherman and Only You were incredible songs. Unfortunately HOME is kinda mid. This is just an acoustic ballad with hardly any production. But at least Eddie and Shawn do sound good together.

You lost the blurbup:

We lost What I Want and JUMP. Good riddance to What I Want. It was extremely forgettable and stuck around way too long. JUMP was great but it was getting old and it was time to leave.

I wish NOT OK could have had a bigger jump but hopefully it does in the coming weeks.

Nice to see First Original Thought getting a big jump.

Good heavens, I didn't think Love Me Not would ever leave the top 5.

Camera had a huge 17 spot jump into the top 5. I can't believe I'm saying this, but hopefully Sabrina Carpenter can keep this from hitting #1 because this is mid as hell.

To no one's surprise, Tears finally jumps to #1 this week. This is now her 8th consecutive #1 song, which is insane. I'm actually not mad this hit #1. I still do enjoy this song and it hasn't gotten annoying yet. But it probably will get annoying when it's at its 10th week at #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

  12. Ethan, fun. is back!...sorta. The Format was the precursor to fun. and now it's the successor. They released their first song together called Holy Roller and on January 23rd, 2026, they'll release their first album in 19ish years. Holy Roller is really cool imo, you should listen.
