Debuts:
Ugh, just when Tate McRae was starting to improve, she's gone back to Tate MidRae. She brings her third song on the countdown with TIT FOR TAT. This song is super mid. The trap production is generic as hell and Tate doesn't sound that good here. Hopefully this flops.
On a better note, 5 Seconds of Summer finally return to the countdown in over 3 years since Me Myself & I in 2022 with NOT OK. The alt production is super fun and the boys sound great as always. Hopefully this becomes a big hit,
Wow, Alessi Rose finally made an amazing song for once in her life with First Original Thought. The dance pop production is really fun here and Alessi sounds great. Hopefully this does as well as Same Mouth did.
Countdown Extra: Louis Tomlinson - Lemonade
Biggest Jump Of The Week: Justin Bieber - DAISIES [+7]
Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Tie between Morgan Wallen/Tate McRae - What I Want and Tate McRae - Revolving door [-4]

Least favorite song last year: Damiano David/Labrinth - Silverlines

Taylor Swift has released her new album The Life of a Showgirl, and she makes her first appearance on Hits 1 in almost a year with The Fate of Ophelia. I listened to the album and it was more Taymid Swift. Nothing was terrible, but there's nothing that I would want to relisten to again. The Fate of Ophelia is pretty good though. The production is actually fairly upbeat and Taylor sounds great here, but this seems very forgettable.
It has been over a year since any One Direction member has released any music since Liam Payne passed away last year. Louis Tomlinson makes his return to Hits 1 since that insanely forgettable song Bigger Than Me in 2022 with Lemonade. I've always liked Louis Tomlinson, he's my favorite One Direction member. His solo music is usually always great, and this song is no exception. The alt production is really fun and Louis sounds great as always. Hopefully this ends up being a hit. On another note, it looks like this song is the countdown extra the same week it debuted hitbound. I believe the last time this has happened was American Psycho in 2022.
Great just what we needed, another Hits 1 plant returning this week. Emei is here with Talk Talk Talk. Yeah, this song is forgettable as hell and isn't nearly as great as Love Me Not or Crazy Stupid Love.
Well, it was only a matter of time until Hits 1 picked up on a Tyler, The Creator song. He finally makes his Hits 1 debut with Sugar On My Tongue. This song is really fun. The production is really groovy and Tyler sounds great here. I wouldn't mind if this became a hit.
Exits:
- Miley Cyrus/Lindsey Buckingham/Mick Fleetwood - Secrets [2]
I don't even remember what this sounds like, I just remember it being super boring.

First original blurb:
We lost All The Way, Survive, On My Mind. RIP to All The Way. It wasn't the most memorable song, but it deserved better than at least 1 week on the countdown. And good riddance to Survive and On My Mind. They were super boring and stuck around way too long.
This was a pretty boring week. Not a lot of big jumps or drops this week.
I'm really surprised Jealous Type is flopping so hard. This still hasn't gotten out of the bottom 10 spots.
Can DAISIES please stop rebounding? This song is forgettable as hell and really needs to leave.
This is getting ridiculous now. Love Me Not has been in the top 5 for several months and really needs to leave.
I didn't think undressed would survive another week at #1, but here it is. This is almost certainly its last week at #1 since songs rarely survive longer than 8 weeks at #1 and Tears will take the #1 spot next week.
That's all for now, see you all next week!

DeleteEthan, Question: If I made an updated Summer 101 playlist for 2025 (i know it'd be late) would you listen and post about it? Please?
ReplyDeletealso listen to Situationship by Bodine Monet. Disregard the comments section, her Youtube video has 2.1 Million views
DeleteSituationship was good but it was a bit too generic.
DeleteI just made a post with 100 songs on it, so I don't feel like making another post with 100 songs.
Okay, No worries. Would you still listen to it at least?
DeleteI might listen, but I've already heard all the summer songs a million times now, so I'm not sure what good listening to them again would do.
DeleteOh, Okay.
