Debuts:

After only spending one week in the abyss, Harry Styles returns to the countdown with Dance No More. This is so much better than American Girls, but not quite as good as Aperture. I really like the funk new wave disco production here, and Harry sounds good as always. Hopefully this ends up doing well.

Countdown Extra: Bruno Mars - Dance With Me

Biggest Jump Of The Week: KATSEYE - Hootie Frutti [+5]

Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Tie between Martin Garrix/Ed Sheeran - Repeat It and Taylor Swift - I Knew It, I Knew You [-3]

Last year's #1 song: Sabrina Carpenter - Tears (1/3 Weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Louis Tomlinson - Lemonade

Least favorite song last year: SIENNA SPIRO - Die On This Hill

Most missed song: Benny Benassi/Gary Go/Skrillex - Cinema (2011)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Pitbull/KISS - Reach For The Stars

Oh joy, we have 2 Hits 1 plants debuting because I guess we didn't have enough plants already. First up is the return of Alessi Rose with FUN. This song is the opposite of fun. This song is quite forgettable, but at least Alessi's voice is good as per usual.

Well, we haven't had new Hayes Warner in a while, so I guess we were due for a new one soon. Seriously, Hits 1 needs to stop trying to make Hayes Warner a thing. But seriously, Seriously is actually one of her better songs. This is pretty upbeat and Hayes sounds good here.

Remi Wolf has been around for a while. She had a song with Zedd back in 2024 called Lucky that I enjoyed. She finally makes her Hits 1 debut with Champagne. I'm not the biggest fan of this song. This has a country vibe, but this song is extremely forgettable, but Remi does sound good here.

Lastly, we have more Slayyyter, who will be releasing a new album in December. i think he's got a girl is just alright. The production just seems very underwhelming. But I said the same thing about brand new chanel$ at first, and that song ended up growing on me, so who knows.

Exits:

• Bruno Mars - Dance With Me [1]
• Hailey Picardi - losing u [2]
• Jamie Miller - Babydoll [5]
• Alya - Lemonade [2]

Dance With Me and Babydoll find themselves in the abyss. losing u was garbage. And I would have liked to see Lemonade last at least a little bit longer.

2026 total dropouts: 147

Estimated total for 2026: 173 (=)

I Think He's Got a Blurb:

Just one exit this week, hate that i made you love me. This was very old and annoying, so I'm glad it's finally gone.

Hootie Frutti had a big 5 spot jump from its debut. This song might end up doing better than I predicted.

I'm not too thrilled that Listen When Sad jumped into the top 10, but I guess I'm fine with it.

It looks like stupid song might end up staying blocked from #1, but we'll have to see.

Well this was very unexpected. KATSEYE finally get their first ever #1 song on Hits 1 with Animal. This song doesn't really scream #1 material to me, but I'll gladly take it. Hopefully this can spend a few more weeks at #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
