Debuts:
Nice to see Joyride back.
I'M HIS, HE'S MINE finally makes its way out of the abyss. This is kinda generic but it's still really fun and Katy Perry and Doechii both sound great.
I Am Not Okay also finally makes its way out of the abyss, except this was in the abyss for a few months now. This really did not need to debut, I would have been fine with this staying in the abyss. This song is good but painfully generic. The production is fine and Jelly Roll sounds alright too.
Countdown Extra: Ava Max - Spot A Fake
Biggest Jump Of The Week: Tie between Halsey - Ego and Myles Smith - Stargazing (+7)
Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Shaboozey - A Bar Song (Tipsy) (-19) 😳
Last year's #1 song: Miley Cyrus - Used To Be Young (1/2 weeks at #1)
Favorite song last year: *NSYNC - Better Place
Least favorite song last year: Billie Eilish - What Was I Made For?
Most missed song: Charli XCX - Break The Rules (2014)
Recommendation for Hits 1: Andy Grammer - Magic

Only 2 debuts this week, that makes my job a whole lot easier.
Coldplay just released their new album Moon Music, and they debut with Good Feeling along with Ayra Starr, the lady from You're Hired. This is easily Coldplay's best song since Higher Power. The production is incredible and super catchy, and Chris Martin and Ayra both sound great together.
LISA debuts with Moonlit Floor, which samples Sixpence None The Richer's 1998 hit Kiss Me. This is pretty fun. The sample works well and isn't lazily used like some other artists (aka David Guetta) and Lisa's voice is great.
Exits:
Camila Cabello - GODSPEED [4]
Alex Warren - Catch My Breath [1]
Good riddance to Godspeed, and I don't even remember what Catch My Breath sounded like.
Abyss
Linkin Park - The Emptiness Machine
Machine Gun Kelly/Jelly Roll - Lonely Road
Chappell Roan - Femininomenon
Eminem - Houdini
Hayes Warner - Predator
David Guetta/OneRepublic - I Don't Wanna Wait
Olivia Rodrigo - so american
Harry Styles - Daylight
This is the lightest I've ever seen the abyss in a while.
Moonlit Blurbs:
We lost Please Please Please, Lonely Road, and The Emptiness Machine. The Emptiness Machine got robbed so hard. Lonely Road was never that great and finds itself in the abyss. And Please Please Please ties Satellite for the highest drop-off ever on the countdown.
A Bar Song had a massive 19 spot drop. I guess this means it's leaving soon.
Mamushi really does not need to be jumping so high.
Stargazing doesn't seem like a top 5 song but I guess I'll take it.
Hot To Go jumping to #1 was very unexpected but I'll gladly take it. It's easily her best song.
As I alluded to earlier, 2 things happened this week that hasn't happened since 2021. First, A Bar Song had a 19 spot drop, which is the biggest drop since Monsters in 2021 when it dropped 20 spots. Also, Chappell Roan becomes the first artist to replace themselves at #1 since Olivia Rodrigo did it in 2021.
That's all for now, see you all next week!
Poll of the week results:
Best HB Debut?
- Kylie Minogue - Lights Camera Action: 62.5 % (5 votes)
- Morgan Wallen/ERNEST - Cowgirls: 12.5 % (1 vote)
- Damiano David/Labrinth - Silverlines: 12.5 % (1 vote)
- Nightly - every part: 12.5 % (1 vote)
Ik this isn't a troll countdown because I heard it on Hits 1, but it sure seems like one. I refuse to believe any of this happened, other than Ego getting the biggest jump and Chappell Roan having two #1s in a row
ReplyDeleteHonestly I feel like this countdown was rigged. Bad Dreams had enough airplay to join the countdown (They needed another countdown filler, this one being I Am Not Okay), plus don’t you think ABS(T) had a suspiciously high drop? Also I barely hear Not Like Us and Apple, plus TEM had enough to last at least another week right?
