Sabrina Carpenter (1) - Week of Oct 19, 2024

Hey guys, what's up? So I just found out from Daniel that Hits 1 hosts a countdown called the "30 in 3" that literally spoils the weekend countdown. They update it every day and on Thursdays, that's what the countdown will look like. So if you want to know what the countdown looks like early, search "30 in 3" on the SiriusXM app.

Debuts:

Lonely Road really did not need to reenter over Moonlit Floor or Burning Down debuting instead.

A second week in a row with a random song that hasn't been pushed to pop. The Ariana Grande remix of Charli XCX's Sympathy is a knife debuts. This is a very weird song but kinda slaps. Charli sounds great but I wish Ariana had more vocals because it feels like she's barely even in this song.

Countdown Extra: JENNIE - Mantra

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Tie between Katy Perry/Doechii - I'M HIS, HE'S MINEChappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe!, and Dasha - Austin [-4]

Chappell Roan - Pink Pony Club [1]

Taylor Swift - So High School [1]

Whatcha Want reentered. It's just now getting a pop push so nice to see it back.

ROSÉ from Blackpink, who had a very forgettable hitbound dropout back in 2021 called On The Ground, collabed with Bruno Mars with APT. This really slaps ngl. The way they pronounce "apt" is hilarious and the production is really fun.

Gracie Abrams is back with what is literally Risk 2.0 called That's So True. This is a literal carbon copy of Risk. But this is a lot more upbeat though and it's probably my favorite song from her so far.

Everyone's favorite sampler David Guetta is back again with another sample. He collabs with Alphaville and Ava Max with Forever Young. This samples Alphaville's 1994 hit with the same name. This is a fun little EDM song and Ava and whoever Alphaville's singer is sound great.

Wow, Morgan Wallen made an actual good song that's not weird country trap crap for once. He's here with Love Somebody. This is really fun and Morgan sounds great.

No one asked for weird random indie nightcrawler crap. Some rando named Gigi Perez whose song Sailor Song is doing well on the Spotify charts for some reason debuts. This is very weird and this Gigi person does not have a great voice.

Exits:

LISA - Moonlit Floor [2]

Alex Warren - Burning Down [4]

Damiano David/Labrinth - Silverlines [3]

Halsey - I Never Loved You [1]

Jon Bellion - KID AGAIN [3]

Teddy Swims - Bad Dreams [5]

Good riddance to Silverlines. Moonlit Floor and Burning Down find themselves in the abyss. And the rest I didn't care about.

Abyss

Chappell Roan - Pink Pony Club

Sabrina Carpenter - Bed Chem

LISA - Moonlit Floor

Alex Warren - Burning Down

The Neighbourhood - Sweater Weather

Taylor Swift - So High School

Gracie Abrams - I Love You, I'm Sorry

The Kid LAROI - GIRLS

Chappell Roan - Femininomenon

Eminem - Houdini

David Guetta/OneRepublic - I Don't Wanna Wait

Harry Styles - Daylight

Blurb me at the apt:

We lost Miles On It and Pretty Slowly. Miles On It was great but it was getting very old and needed to leave. And Pretty Slowly was pretty mid.

Austin has become the latest song to reach 30 weeks since I Like You (A Happier Song) did it back in early 2023. Austin is a great song but I'm not sure why it's sticking around for so long.

Um, why did Ego jump 10 spots to #6? I thought this was starting to die on pop radio. I Am Not Okay didn't need to jump 10 spots either.

IDK why Hits 1 is so allergic to Billie hitting #1 when BIRDS OF A FEATHER is hitting #1 literally everywhere else.

Welp just like I predicted when it entered the countdown, Taste finally reached #1. This is so much better than Espresso and Please x3, so I'm glad this hit #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
