Finally, the angel is back at #1!

In other news, I'm going to be archiving the Pulse top 15 countdown now. I won't be color coding or reviewing any songs, but Daniel will make a comment every week sharing his thoughts on the songs and sharing some throwbacks. You can check out that post here: https://zestpond.blogspot.com/2025/04/the-pulse-top-15-shaboozey-2-week-of.html

Debuts:

Ariana Grande returns to the countdown with twilight zone. This is pretty good. The production is upbeat and Ariana sounds great. Let's just hope this doesn't get annoying like all her music seems to get.

Miley Cyrus makes her solo return to the countdown in a year and a half with End of the World. This has faded on me a lot. The production is so insanely generic and Miley does not sound good at all. I have a feeling this song is gonna get very annoying very quickly.

On a more positive note, Ed Sheeran has finally made an upbeat song in almost 3 years with Azizam. The Indian style production is really fun and Ed sounds great. I have no doubt this song will do quite well on the countdown.

Well, it looks like Hits 1 decided to let this song reenter again after all. Billie Eilish's WILDFLOWER has reentered for a second time. This is the first time a song has had 3 different countdown runs since David Kushner's Daylight back in 2023. It looks like this song has officially been pushed to pop now, so it makes sense that it's back. As for the song itself, my opinion hasn't changed much. The production, while slow, is still pretty nice and Billie sounds good. Let's see if this song will do better on its 3rd countdown run.

Countdown Extra: sombr - undressed

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Tie between Chappell Roan - The Giver and Sabrina Carpenter - Busy Woman [+10]

Favorite song last year: Imagine Dragons - Eyes Closed

Least favorite song last year: Beyoncé/Miley Cyrus - II MOST WANTED

Most missed song: Jonas Brothers - Five More Minutes (2020)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Felix Jaehn/Whitney Houston - It's Not Right But It's Okay

SZA/Kendrick Lamar - 30 For 30 [3]

Oh joy, 2 of the most overplayed artists of the past year Shaboozey and Myles Smith have collabed on a song called Blink Twice. This is alright. This is a lot better than that snoozefest Good News, but isn't nearly as good as A Bar Song.

Wow, The Summer Set is a name I haven't heard in awhile. They're back since Figure Me Out was on the countdown back in 2016 with ADIDAS. The pop punk production here is amazing, and whoever the singer is sounds great. I really hope this can debut the countdown, but there's a 0% chance of that happening.

Oh great, some random song that Hippo showed me last week has debuted hitbound this week. Some rapper named BigXthaPlug collabed with Bailey Zimmerman with All The Way. Whoever this rapper is kinda reminds me of Central Cee, and Bailey Zimmerman almost sounds exactly like Morgan Wallen here. The country trap production is alright, but this song is kinda weird and I don't know how to feel about it yet.

Lastly, for some inexplicable reason, A Lot More Free is back. Why is this back? Literally no one asked for this. Except Daniel for some reason. I blame him.

Just Us has gotten quite annoying, while Going, Going, Gone and Karaoke have grown on me quite a bit.

Exits:

Jon Bellion - WASH [3]

Henry Moodie - indigo [2]

WASH was, well, washed. And wow, a Henry Moodie song didn't spend 15 weeks in hitbound for once!

2025 Total Dropouts: 58

Estimated total for 2025: 167 (-10)

Abyss

Charli XCX - party 4 u [1]

almost monday - can't slow down [1]

SZA/Kendrick Lamar - 30 For 30 [2]

Justice/Tame Impala - Neverender [3]

Ryann - Dirty [3]

RAYE - Oscar Winning Tears. [3]

Doechii - DENIAL IS A RIVER [3]

ROLE MODEL - Sally, When The Wine Runs Out [3]

Avery Anna - Mr. Predictable [4]

Tyla - PUSH 2 START [7]

Pitbull/Bon Jovi - Now or Never [7]

Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us [10]

The Marías - No One Noticed [12]

Lady Gaga - Disease [17]

Harry Styles - Daylight [151]

Why is some random Charli XCX song from 2020 in the abyss? And good riddance, this might be one of the most boring songs I've ever heard in my life.

Blurb twice:

We lost Born Again, Burning Down, That's So True, and Pink Pony Club. Good riddance to the last 3, they were super old and really needed to leave. And Born Again was super mid and won't be missed.

Are like JENNIE and Not At This Party just gonna rot in the bottom 5 their entire countdown run?

Nice to see Love Me To Heaven and The Giver getting big jumps.

Sailor Song still somehow refuses to go the hell away.

Haha, Bed Chem has been the biggest drop of the week 2 weeks in a row.

Busy Woman really did not need to have a huge +10 jump into the top 10. Call Me When You Break Up doesn't need to be in the top 10 either.

Finally, it's about damn time Abracadabra went #1 since being screwed for a month. I don't see this lasting too much longer at #1 with toxic till the end jumping to #2, but hopefully it can.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
