Debuts:

Morgan Wallen and Post Malone collab for a second time with I Ain't Comin' Back. This song is just alright. Morgan and Post both sound good but this is just a forgettable country song and isn't nearly as good as I Had Some Help.

Nice To Meet You is the song that refuses to go away. This originally debuted hitbound all the way back in November, then left hitbound and reentered hitbound a few weeks later. Then it debuted the countdown in January then left 2 weeks later. Now 3 months later it has reentered the countdown. Hits 1 has no idea what to do with this song. It look like this song has finally been pushed to pop, so it looks like it's here to stay this time. As for the song itself, it's gotten quite old but it's still a nice little fun folk song. Let's just hope this doesn't get as overplayed as Stargazing.

Countdown Extra: Knox - Going, Going, Gone

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Miley Cyrus - End of the World [+8]

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Kendrick Lamar/SZA - luther [-9]

Last year's #1 song: Benson Boone - Beautiful Things (1/2 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: David Guetta/OneRepublic - I Don't Wanna Wait

Least favorite song last year: SZA - Saturn

Most missed song: Charlie Puth/Kehlani - Done For Me (2018)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Kate Cosentino - Throw Myself at the Wall

5 Oldest Songs

  4. Tie between Teddy Swims - Bad Dreams and Sabrina Carpenter - Bed Chem {19w}
  5. Lola Young - Messy {15w}

Hitbound

Michael Clifford - cool [4]

Shaboozey/Myles Smith - Blink Twice [3]

Knox - Going, Going, Gone [4]

Lorde - What Was That [Debut]

sombr - undressed [6]

BigXthaPlug/Bailey Zimmerman - All The Way [3]

Zara Larsson - Pretty Ugly [Debut]

Lauren Spencer Smith - IF KARMA DOESN'T GET YOU (I WILL) [Debut]

Ravyn Lenae - Love Me Not [6]

Myles Smith - My First Heartbreak [Debut]

Joe Jonas - Heart By Heart [Debut]

Emei - Crazy Stupid Love [9]

Benson Boone - Mystical Magical [Debut]

Hayes Warner - Threw Me Away [4]

The Summer Set - ADIDAS [3]

Kesha/T-Pain - YIPPEE-KI-YAY. [5]

First up we have the highly anticipated return of Lorde after 4 years with What Was That. And yeah, this is nothing short of incredible. Lorde's super unique voice is amazing as always and the production is phenomenal. I have no doubt this will be a huge hit.

Zara Larsson is back with Pretty Ugly. I'm not really a big fan of all the shouting at the beginning and in the chorus. Other than that this song is alright.

Oh joy, more Lauren Spencer Smith, who seems to have dropped the hyphen from her last name, which is kinda weird but okay. IF KARMA DOESN'T GET YOU (I WILL) is pretty good. It's pretty upbeat and Lauren sounds good.

Myles Smith has his second song on hitbound with My First Heartbreak. This song is about his dad walking out on him when he was a kid. The lyrics are the only saving grace of this song. The rest of the song is quite boring.

Hits 1 just feels the need to pick up on every Joe Jonas song because why not. Heart By Heart is alright. This is pretty upbeat but isn't as good as Work It Out.

I'm surprised Hits 1 saved Benson Boone's newest song Mystical Magical for the last debut of the show, but better late than never I guess. This is great. The production is really fun and Benson sounds great. Also this song samples the 1981 classic hit Physical by Olivia Newton-John which actually really works well.

Exits:

  • Dove Cameron - Too Much [9]
  • Jack Harlow/Doja Cat - Just Us [5]
  • Thomas Day - Sleep When We're Dead [4]
  • Crash Adams - Karaoke [3]
  • Jonah Marais - Better Place [4]

Too Much was great but stuck around way too long. Karaoke deserved so much better. Just Us was garbage. And Sleep When We're Dead and Better Place were super forgettable.

2025 Total Dropouts: 64

Estimated total for 2025: 166 (+5)

Abyss

Janet Jackson - Someone To Call My Lover [1]

Ariana Grande - dandelion [2]

Charli XCX - party 4 u [3]

almost monday - can't slow down [3]

Justice/Tame Impala - Neverender [5]

Ryann - Dirty [5]

RAYE - Oscar Winning Tears. [5]

Doechii - DENIAL IS A RIVER [5]

Avery Anna - Mr. Predictable [6]

Pitbull/Bon Jovi - Now or Never [9]

Harry Styles - Daylight [153]

Um, why is there some random old Janet Jackson song in the abyss?

If blurbs don't get you, I will:

We lost Not At This Party and Love Somebody. Not At This Party was great but was super forgettable and wasn't nearly as good as Austin. And good riddance to Love Somebody. It literally pulled a If The World Was Ending, randomly reentering months later just to leave 1 week later.

Sally, When The Wine Runs Out has randomly grown on me a lot these past few weeks, and has went #1 on my personal charts and becomes the new purple song. Nice to see it getting a nice jump on the countdown.

luther finally had a huge drop, but it really should have left the countdown instead.

Ugh, can End of the World please stop climbing so much?

Lady Gaga has thwarted off ROSÉ yet again from #1 for a third week now. It looks like toxic till the end is starting to die on pop radio, so this will probably end up being blocked from #1. But this is Hits 1 we're talking about, so anything is possible.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
