Debuts:

Sunday Besting this week, because I guess we were about due for another Sunday Best, is viral YouTube star Sophia James with So Unfair. Apparently she got popular due to a "Group 7" video but idk because I haven't seen that video. This song is pretty good. This has some great piano pop production and her voice is really good. Let's see if this song ends up growing on me more.

It's about time these next two songs finally debuted because they spent ages in the abyss. After dropping out of hitbound back in August and spending 2 months in the abyss, Crush finally debuts. This song has grown on me a lot since it first left hitbound. The synthpop production is really fun, and Zara Larsson sounds great. Hopefully this does well and doesn't flop as hard as Pretty Ugly did.

After dropping out of hitbound last month, WHERE IS MY HUSBAND finally debuts. This song is just insanely fun and I'm glad it finally debuted. The production is like a combination between jazz, funk, and soul that somehow works really well, and RAYE's voice is incredible as always. Hopefully this does well.

Countdown Extra: Demi Lovato - Let You Go

Biggest Jump Of The Week: 5 Seconds of Summer - NOT OK [+10]

Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Sabrina Carpenter - Manchild [-4]

Last year's #1 song: Billie Eilish - BIRDS OF A FEATHER (2/3 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: ROSÉ/Bruno Mars - APT.

Least favorite song last year: Gigi Perez - Sailor Song

Most missed song: Tones And I - Fly Away (2021)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Said the Sky/Knox - Dance In The Rain

We went from a chunky double stuffed oreo hitbound last week with 10 debuts, to a single stuffed oreo episode this week with only 1 debut. And of course the one debut is Jessie goddamn Murph. She's here whether you like it or not with I'm Not There For You. This song actually isn't that bad, maybe, idk. The country trap production is super generic but at least it's somewhat better than Blue Strips. But holy hell Jessie's voice is so bad here. She literally sounds like a dying cow when she sings. This song could get very annoying very quickly if it ends up debuting the countdown.

Exits:

  • Emei - Talk Talk Talk [4]

I don't even remember what this sounded like. I just remember it was extremely mid.

Dumb ways to blurb:

We lost Revolving door for a second time, Eternity, and A Little More. Revolving door was good but it was extremely old and really needed to leave. Eternity was super mid but it's kinda funny it spent 3 months in the abyss just to spend 3 weeks on the countdown. A Little More was great but it was also starting to get old and needed to leave.

Nice to see NOT OK getting a huge jump.

Bloodline has grown on me a lot and now becomes my purple song.

Umm, EYES CLOSED and TIT FOR TAT did not need to jump that high.

How is Opalite in the top 10? Is this even a single, or is Hits 1 so desperate to have 2 Taylor Swift songs in the top 10?

Congrats to undressed for passing Abracadabra as the best performing song of 2025. After debuting hitbound all the way back in March, I never would have expected it would end up being the biggest song of 2025.

Welp, The Fate of Ophelia has jumped to #2 and is almost certainly hitting #1 next week. I'm not really too thrilled but honestly I'd rather have Taylor at #1 than Sabrina because Sabrina has gotten way too overrated these past 2 years.

Well Golden has finally hit #1 on the countdown...3 months after it already went #1 on Billboard. Better late than never, I guess.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
