Debuts:

Timbaland makes his return to the countdown in 13 years since If We Ever Meet Again in 2010, with Keep Going Up with Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake. This is good but kinda forgettable and  far from any of their best.

Paul Russell makes his Hits 1 debut with Lil Boo Thang. This has grown on me a lot. This is super fun and Paul sounds great, but I just wish it was longer.

Countdown Extra: Nicki Minaj - Last Time I Saw You

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Selena Gomez - Single Soon (+17)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Kylie Minogue - Padam Padam (-9)

Last year's #1 song: Harry Styles - Late Night Talking (4/5 long and overrated weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: David Morris - Dutton Ranch Freestyle

Least favorite song last year: DJ Khaled/Drake/Lil Baby - Staying Alive

Most missed song: Smash Mouth - Walkin' On The Sun (1997)

Recommendation for Hits 1: The Chainsmokers - Summertime Friends

5 oldest songs:

5. Dua Lipa - Dance The Night (15 weeks)

4. Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer (16 weeks)

3. Harry Styles - Satellite (18 weeks)

2. Tie between SZA - Snooze and FIFTY FIFTY - Cupid (Twin Ver.) (19 weeks)

1. Crash Adams - Give Me A Kiss (20 weeks)

Hitbound:

Diplo/Polo G/Jessie Murph - Heartbroken {8}

Olivia Rodrigo - get him back! (Debut)

Thomas Day - Gravity {3}

Dove Cameron/Marshmello - Other Boys (Debut)

Sabrina Carpenter - Feather (re-entry) {2}

Chris Brown - Summer Too Hot {4}

Jordi - Just A Friend {3}

Paul Russell - Lil Boo Thang {SB}

(G)I-DLE - I Do {5}

Flyana Boss - You Wish {5}

MAX/JVKE/Bazzi - Strings {6}

Usher/Summer Walker/21 Savage - Good Good (Debut)

Loud Luxury/Two Friends/Bebe Rexha - If Only I (Debut)

Nightly - shirt {3}

Travis Scott/Bad Bunny/The Weeknd - K-POP {7}

Feather has re-entered 6 months later. Okay, then?

Olivia Rodrigo just released her new album GUTS and she's here with get him back. This is good but not as great as bad idea right. The pop punk production is alright and Olivia sounds good.

Usher makes his return to Hits 1 since I Don't Mind in 2014, along with Summer Walker and 21 Savage, with Good Good. The production is pretty fun and everyone sounds good.

Dove Cameron and Marshmello collab with Other Boys. Good but forgettable EDM song.

Loud Luxury, Two Friends, and Bebe Rexha collab with If Only I. Amazing EDM song and Bebe sounds great as always.

Exits:

aespa - Better Things {3}

charlieonnafriday - I'm Not Crazy {7}

Peggy Gou - (It Goes Like) Nanana {3}

Lauv - Love U Like That {5}

I'm Not Crazy and Nanana were great and Better Things and Love U Like That were alright.

Abyss:

Bakar - Hell N Back

Jain - Makeba

Harry Styles - Daylight

Busted/Jonas Brothers - Year 3000 2.0

Taylor Swift - I Can See You (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)

Teddy Swims - Lose Control

Charli XCX - Speed Drive

NOTD/Maia Wright - AM:PM

Jelly Roll - Need A Favor

Lil Blurb Thang:

We lost Jaded and Runaway. Jaded was getting super old so I'm finally glad it's gone. Runaway was great but it was starting to get old too.

Sugar Mommy has grown on me a lot and now gets the purple ranking.

Oof, Padam Padam got a huge drop.

I'm not sure how Enough Is Enough got a huge jump despite being the least played countdown song for a few weeks now.

Single Soon and Used To Be Young both had huge jumps. +15 jumps are rare let alone 2 in one week.

Looks like the entire top 6 held. I'm surprised vampire isn't higher than #5 by now.

Thank God Cruel Summer is still blocking Annoy The Night from #1.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

2: Dua Lipa - Dance The Night (+1) (14 weeks) [peak: 2]

1: Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer (=) (15 weeks) [peak: 1 x 3 weeks]

Debuts:

Selena Gomez is back with Single Soon. This is pretty catchy and Selena sounds good, but this just sounds a bit too basic.

Miley Cyrus brings her second song on the countdown with Used To Be Young. This has grown on me a lot. The production evolves nicely throughout the song and Miley sounds great.

Countdown Extra: Jordi - Just A Friend

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Olivia Rodrigo - bad idea right? (+7)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: David Kushner - Daylight (-7)

Last year's #1 song: Harry Styles - Late Night Talking (3/5 long and overrated weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: AJR - World’s Smallest Violin

Least favorite song last year: Doja Cat - Vegas

Most missed song: Miami Horror - Sometimes (2010)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Måneskin - HONEY (ARE U COMING?)

5 oldest songs:

5. Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer (15 weeks)

2. Crash Adams - Give Me A Kiss (19 weeks)

1. Miley Cyrus - Jaded (20 weeks)

Hitbound:

MAX/JVKE/Bazzi - Strings {5}

Nicki Minaj - Last Time I Saw You (Debut)

Thomas Day - Gravity {2}

Timbaland/Nelly Furtado/Justin Timberlake - Keep Going Up (Debut)

Nightly - shirt {2}

Peggy Gou - (It Goes Like) Nanana {3}

charlieonnafriday - I'm Not Crazy {7}

Jordi - Just A Friend {2} SOTW

Chris Brown - Summer Too Hot {3}

(G)I-DLE - I Do {4}

Hits 1 played a live version of Lovebug instead of the 16th hitbound song for the first airing, but subsequent airings included I Do, so I Do remains on hitbound. Thanks to Hallett for pointing that out.

Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, and Justin Timberlake team up for a second time since Give It To Me in 2007, with Keep Going Up. Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake sound good but this is just super forgettable and nowhere near their best.

Nicki Minaj is back with Last Time I Saw You. Nicki sounds good but this is kinda boring and forgettable.

Exits:

NONE!

Wow, the first time in a while there were no PLOPs.

Abyss:

Miguel - Sure Thing

Bakar - Hell N Back

Jain - Makeba

Harry Styles - Daylight

Taylor Swift - I Can See You (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)

Teddy Swims - Lose Control

Charli XCX - Speed Drive

NOTD/Maia Wright - AM:PM

Keep Blurbin' Up:

We lost Baby Don’t Hurt Me and Speed Drive. I'm not sure why Speed Drive left, it was getting a ton of airplay, it now enters the abyss. And Baby Don’t Hurt Me was great but was getting really old.

Daylight had a big -7 drop. Can this leave please?

bad idea right finally got a big jump.

It only took 9 weeks but vampire is finally in the top 5. I'd rather bad idea right be there instead because vampire is getting really annoying.

Nice to see What It Is jumping to #4.

Dance The Night jumped to #2. Will it take #1 next week, or will it end up getting blocked from #1? Hopefully the latter because Dance The Night is getting really annoying.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Debuts:

On the fake countdown we had Daylight re-entering, but I can't believe it actually did. It's now on its third countdown run. This has grown on me a little but I just wish it would stay gone for good.

Charli XCX brings her first song on the countdown since 1999 in 2019, with Speed Drive. This is such a bop. It's super catchy and Charli sounds great.

Gotta love more non hits! 0 hit wonder Crash Adams are here with a second song, Sugar Mommy. This is just as amazing as Give Me A Kiss. It's insanely catchy and the 2 sound great.

Countdown Extra: aespa - Better Things

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Kylie Minogue - Padam Padam (+14)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Dominic Fike - Mona Lisa (-8)

Last year's #1 song: Harry Styles - Late Night Talking (2/5 long and overrated weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Zedd/Maren Morris/BEAUZ - Make You Say

Least favorite song last year: Demi Lovato - 29

Most missed song: Charli XCX - Famous (2014)

Miley Cyrus is back with Used To Be Young. This is an alright ballad. The production is solid and Miley sounds good.

Selena Gomez is back with new solo music since My Mind & Me last year, with Single Soon. This is so much better than that boring MM&M. This is pretty fun and Selena sounds good.

Jordi is back with Just A Friend after having that song Hate You earlier this year that refused to leave hitbound. This is a lot better than Hate You. It's pretty fun and Jordi sounds good.

The group Nightly make their Hits 1 debut with shirt. They sound like a The 1975 clone, but it's not a bad thing. This is a pretty upbeat indie rock song and they sound great.

Lastly is another Hits 1 debut, Thomas Day with Gravity. This guy is just a Lewis Capaldi clone. The production is super boring. It starts to pick up towards the end but by then I'm too bored. But this Thomas guy's voice is decent.

Exits:

Charlie Puth - Lipstick {1}

Jelly Roll - NEED A FAVOR {9}

will.i.am/Britney Spears - Mind Your Business {5}

Need A Favor lasted way too long. Lipstick didn't last long enough. And Mind Your Business was great but it was never gonna debut.

Miguel - Sure Thing

Bakar - Hell N Back

Jain - Makeba

Pitbull/Lil Jon - JUMPIN

Harry Styles - Daylight

Busted/Jonas Brothers - Year 3000 2.0

Taylor Swift - I Can See You (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)

Flo Rida - What A Night

ZAYN - Love Like This

TOMORROW X TOGETHER/Jonas Brothers - Do It Like That

Teddy Swims - Lose Control

Blurbs Too Hot:

We lost Stand By Me, Waffle House, and Eyes Closed. Good riddance to Eyes Closed, this was super annoying and lasted way too long. Waffle House was good but was getting kinda annoying also. And Stand By Me was just alright.

Paint The Town Red has finally left the bottom spot.

Oof, looks like In The Stars didn't get 3 +7 jumps in a row.

Let's go! Padam Padam got a huge +14 spot jump.

The overplayed piece of crap Jaded really did not need to jump 9 spots.

Nice to see We Didn't Start The Fire finally enter the top 10 and Hold Me Like a Grudge getting a huge jump.

Let's go! Cruel Summer stayed #1 for a second week this week. Hopefully this can stay #1 for awhile longer and Satellite doesn't overtake it.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Debuts:

Daylight has re-entered for a second time now. Ummmmmm, okay then?

Charli XCX brings her first song on the countdown since 1999 in 2019, with Speed Drive. This is such a bop. It's super catchy and Charli sounds great.

After dropping out of Hitbound in April then re-entering Hitbound 2 weeks ago and dropping out again, NOTD and Maia Wright are finally here with AM:PM. This is an amazing EDM song and finally glad it could debut.

Crash Adams bring their second song on the countdown with Sugar Mommy. This is basically Give Me A Kiss but so much better. The production is super fun and the two sound great as always.

Blurbs Too Hot:

We lost Waffle House, Eyes Closed, Stand By Me, and Super Shy. I'm not sure why Super Shy left, it was getting tons of airplay. Stand By Me was alright. Waffle House was good but was getting old. And good riddance to that overplayed piece of crap Eyes Closed.

RIP it looks like vampire will never reach the top 5.

Let's gooooooo!!! In The Stars jumped 11 spots to #5 and We Didn't Start The Fire is up to #6!

Why did the overplayed piece of crap Jaded jump 16 spots to #4?

Now the moment you've all been waiting for, a rant on Satellite hitting #1 in all caps, in bold, and italicized:

REALLY SHITS 1, WHY DID HARRY THE CLOWN HAVE TO OVERTAKE TAYLOR SWIFT ANGEL AMAZINGNESS FROM #1? CRUEL SUMMER IS THE SONG OF THE SUMMER RIGHT NOW AND DOESN'T DESERVE TO GET DETHRONED BY A CLOWN. CMON HITS 1, DO BETTER. CRUEL SUMMER HAS BEEN HIGHER IN AIRPLAY THAN SATELLITE ALL WEEK, THERE WAS NO NEED TO MAKE SATELLITE #1. CRUEL SUMMER BETTER TAKE BACK #1 NEXT WEEK OR THERE'LL BE AN EVEN BIGGER RANT.

That's all for now, see you all next week!
