least favorite song 2 years ago: death bed (coffee for your head) - Powfu/beabadoobee (my second worst song of all time, after Way 2 Sexy)

most missed countdown song: Beautiful Soul - Jesse McCartney (2005)

Debuts:

Drake is back on the countdown with Massive after last year's Way 2 Sexy, which is easily my worst song of all time. I'd never thought I'd say this, but wow, Drake actually made a good song. I really like the 90s house beat, and it evolves throughout the song. And Drake actually doesn't sound that bad. Overall a pretty good song and I hope it does well.

Tai Verde is back on the countdown with sheluvme after the short-lived Let's Go To Hell. After hearing this song a lot on Hits 1 over the past week, I've actually grown to like it. Tai is less annoying than he usually is, and the production is pretty good too.

I knew this song was gonna debut and it has. Left and Right by Charlie Puth and Jung Kook. This is basically Light Switch 2.0. It's a gimmicky song. Whereas Light Switch's gimmick was the light switch sound effect, this song's gimmick is the "I can hear you over here" coming from different sides of the speaker. And you know what, it works. I'm a sucker for gimmicks. I loved Light Switch, and I love this song as well. It's super catchy, and Charlie and Jung sound good. I think this song has #1 potential, but let's wait and see.

Hitbound (excluding Sunday Bests and 1TW):

Don't You Worry - Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, David Guetta

Bois Lie - Avril Lavigne, Machine Gun Kelly (Debut)

a letter to me - Dixie

Disaster - Conan Gray

Life's Too Short - aespa

Angry Woman - Ashe

Dress - Charlotte Sands

Twinkle Twinkle Little B**** - Leah Kate

Glimpse of Us - Joji (church hymn alert)

Breakfast - Dove Cameron

die first - Nessa Barrett

Baby Boo - Muni Long, Saweetie

Wasted On You - Morgan Wallen (Debut)

Wow, Hits 1 picked up on this song really late. Bois Lie by Avril Lavigne and Machine Gun Kelly was released back in February. This song is kinda basic, but it's still really good. Avril and MGK sound really good, and I really like the 2000s pop punk production.

No no, no no no!!! Hits 1 picked up on Wasted On You by Morgan Wallen. No no no!!! Really Hits 1, did you not learn your lesson after Walker Hayes' abysmal Fancy Like and U Gurl? We don't need any more horrible trap country songs on the radio. While Morgan does sound slightly better than Walker Hayes, the country trap production is horrible. If this song actually debuts, expect a huge rant.

Exits:

Carolina - Taylor Swift

Booty - Saucy Santana/Latto

Booty was pretty fun but I never excepted it to debut. Carolina is one of the worst Taylor Swift songs I've heard so I'm glad it's gone.

Abyss:

Music For a Sushi Restaurant - Harry Styles

I Ain't Worried - OneRepublic

Want Want - Maggie Rogers

BREAK MY SOUL - Beyoncé

Daylight - Harry Styles

Until I Found You - Stephen Sanchez

Flowers - Lauren Spencer-Smith

this is what falling in love feels like - JVKE

Get Into It (Yuh) - Doja Cat

Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush

It's funny, the same artist has my favorite and least favorite abyss song. While MFASR has really cool production and is fun to listen to...Daylight on the other hand is not. The song itself isn't that bad. Harry sounds pretty good. But the production, if you can even call it that, is boring and nonexistent. This borders on church hymn territory, but I don't think I'm gonna call it that yet.

Blurbs follow me left and right:

We lost I Love U, Viva Las Vengeance, and Jiggle Jiggle. I think I was the only one who liked Viva Las Vengeance, but it was kinda forgettable, so I'm fine that it's gone. Jiggle Jiggle was a hilarious song, but we all knew it wouldn't last long here. I Love U was a great song that Hits 1 decided to fuck over for some reason.

So instead of removing Numb Little Bug and Sweetest Pie, two really annoying overplayed songs, Hits 1 decided to remove I Love U and Jiggle Jiggle. What the actual fuck Hits 1? Please do better.

So Good has only been here for 3 weeks, but it's starting to get really overplayed and annoying.

Really Hits 1? The top 7 songs haven't changed at all.

Now for the biggest fuck you Hits 1 has given us. Ass It Was fell to the #8 spot in airplay, and Sunroof rose to #1 in airplay. So it would make total sense to make Sunroof #1 on the countdown. Ass It Was had been #1 for 7 weeks in a row, so people would be tired of it by now. Nope! Hits 1 randomly decided to make Harry The Clown #1 for an 8th week in a row! This song does not deserve 8 weeks at #1. It didn't even deserve #1 at all! If this breaks Shivers' record for #1, I'm going on the biggest rant ever. And I have a very bad feeling that it will, we all knew it the moment this song debuted.

Bye for now, see you all next week!
