Debuts:

Jung Kook and Latto collab with Seven. This is really fun and they both sound great.

Daylight re-entered. Really Hits 1, I thought we were done with this boring ass song and this is just taking up space for better songs.

Billie Eilish stop making boring songs challenge (impossible). She's back with What Was I Made For. And of course this is another boring ass Billie ballad. What happened Billie, go back to making fun music. Billie actually doesn't sound too bad here but the production is just way too boring for me to enjoy.

Countdown Extra: (G)I-DLE - I DO

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Fall Out Boy - Hold Me Like a Grudge (+6)

Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: The 1975 - I'm In Love With You (-5)

Last year's #1 song: Nicky Youre - Sunroof (3/5 weeks at #1)

Favorite song last year: Ellie Goulding/Big Sean - Easy Lover

Least favorite song last year: Amelia Moore - i feel everything

Most missed song: Billie Eilish - my future (2020)

Recommendation for Hits 1: Alesso/John Newman - Call Your Name

5 oldest songs:

5. Crash Adams - Give Me A Kiss (13 weeks)

4. Tie between Post Malone - Chemical & Miley Cyrus - Jaded (14 weeks)

3. Jonas Brothers - Waffle House (15 weeks)

2. Ed Sheeran - Eyes Closed (17 weeks)

1. The 1975 - I'm In Love With You (21 weeks)

Hitbound:

Jelly Roll - Need A Favor {5}

NewJeans - Super Shy (Debut)

Crash Adams - Sugar Mommy {2}

charlieonnafriday - I'm Not Crazy (Debut)

Noah Kahan/Post Malone - Dial Drunk (Debut)

will.i.am/Britney Spears - Mind Your Business (Debut)

Teddy Swims - Lose Control (Debut)

Zayn - Love Like This (Debut)

d4vd - Here With Me {5}

Kylie Minogue - Padam Padam (Debut)

FIFTY FIFTY/Kaliii - Barbie Dreams {2}

Hayes Warner - Dead To Me {2}

Lil Durk/Morgan Wallen - Stand By Me (Debut)

Diplo/Jessie Murph/Polo G - Heartbroken (Debut)

Troye Sivan - Rush {2}

Anna Delvey/Brooke Butler/Audio Chateau - What the Hell (Debut)

Goodness 10 debuts, let's get started!

Kpop girl group NewJeans make their Hits 1 Super Shy. This is pretty fun and everyone sounds good.

charlieonnafriday is back with I'm Not Crazy, which samples the 2002 song Unwell by Matchbox Twenty. This is really fun and charlieonnafriday sounds great and the sample works surprisingly well.

Noah Kahan and Post Malone collab with Dial Drunk. This is a really fun folk song and Noah and Post both sound great. but I just wish Post contributed more to the song.

will.i.am and Britney Spears collab for a second time since Scream & Shout in 2012, with Mind Your Business. I can already tell this is gonna be one of the most polarizing songs of 2023. You either love or hate this song. I'm in the former category. This song is just stupidly fun. I love that the chorus is just "mind your business" over and over. will.i.am and Britney's voices are drowned in autotune but they still sound pretty good.

Teddy Swims makes his Hits 1 debut with Lose Control. He was on the Meghan Trainor song Bad For Me last year that Hits 1 never picked up on. Lose Control is pretty good. The production is pretty cool and Teddy has an interesting and unique voice.

Zayn is back on Hits 1 since Let Me in 2018, with Love Like This. This is really catchy and Zayn sounds great.

Kylie Minogue is back on Hits 1 since All I See in 2007, with Padam Padam. This is really cool. This sounds very Tiesto-y, probably because the person who wrote this also wrote songs for Tiesto.

Lil Durk and Morgan Wallen are here with Broadway Girls part 2, Stand By Me. This is pretty good. The production is pretty catchy and Lil Durk and Morgan sound good.

Diplo, Jessie Murph, and Polo G collab with Heartbroken. The production is fine and Polo G sounds good and Jessie Murph sounds less annoying than usual.

Now for the latest episode of where the actual hell Hits 1 finds these songs, Anna Delvey, Brooke Butler, and Audio Chateau are here with What the Hell. Apparently this is a remix of a phone call Anna Delvey made while in prison with vocals from Brooke Butler and production from Audio Chateau. The song is alright. The lyrics are kinda hilarious and the EDM country production is pretty fun.

Exits:

TOMORROW X TOGETHER/Jonas Brothers - Do It Like That {2}

Kaliii - Area Codes {8}

Fall Out Boy - We Didn’t Start The Fire {2}

Benson Boone - In The Stars {7}

The Band CAMINO - See You Later {3}

Leah Kate - Super Over {3}

(G)I-DLE - I Do {1} SOTW

Do It Like That, Area Codes, We Didn’t Start The Fire, and In The Stars find themselves in the abyss. See You Later and Super Over were great. And I Do is yet another SOTW that leaves hitbound.

Abyss:

Miguel - Sure Thing

Bakar - Hell N Back

Taylor Swift  - You're Losing Me (From The Vault)

Havanna Winter - Tornado

iCandy - Keep Dat

Jain - Makeba

TOMORROW X TOGETHER/Jonas Brothers - Do It Like That

Kaliii - Area Codes

Fall Out Boy - We Didn’t Start The Fire

Benson Boone - In The Stars

Metro Boomin/NAV/A Boogie Wit da Hoodie/Swae Lee - Calling

Aqua - Barbie Girl

Harry Styles - Daylight

It seems as though Daylight will be the next single off of Harry's House, so look out for that soon.

Mind Your Blurbs:

We lost Jumpin, That Part, and Karma. I'm really surprised Karma is gone already but I don't mind since it's getting really old. Jumpin was great and deserved better. And That Part was just Fingers Crossed part 50.

After 5 weeks Attention is finally out of the bottom spot.

After 2 months VOID is finally out of the bottom 5.

I'm not sure how Last Night is still here and jumping since it's been in the bottom 5 airplay for a few weeks now.

Vampire is taking its sweet ass time getting into the top 10.

Can Snooze snooze off the countdown already.

Eyes Closed really needs to be dropping more than 1 spot.

Oof, looks like Chemical got blocked from #1.

Give Me A Kiss jumped to #2. If this could get #1 next week that would be great.

That's all for now, see you all next week!

Poll of the week results:

Best top 5 song?

1: Crash Adams - Give Me A Kiss: 42.86 %/3 votes

2: Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer: 42.86 %/3 votes

3: Dua Lipa - Dance The Night: 14.29 %/1 vote
