Debuts:
Ariana Grande has released her new album petal, and we have the title track from it. This is fine, I guess. It has an interesting bass line and Ariana sounds good. But this is super forgettable. At least it's better than hate that i made you love me.
Morgan Wallen makes his return to the countdown after a year with Been By Now. Not much to say, this is yet another decent country song from him. But at least it's a lot better than I Ain't Comin' Back and What I Want from last year.
Sigh, A Couple Minutes reentered, because of course it did. This is extremely mediocre. The production is insanely repetitive and boring, and Olivia Dean sounds horrible. Let's just hope this doesn't stick around much longer on its second run.
After spending a month in the abyss, stupid song finally debuts. This has grown on me a bit. The production starts off slow, but it starts to get interesting towards the end, and Olivia sounds good. Hopefully this can do well.
Well, PASSENGER debuted all the way up at #12 this week. This is a great song, but did it really need to debut this high? It would be really funny if this only lasted 1 week and became another TRUSTFALL by P!nk.
Countdown Extra: Slayyyter - brand new chanel$
Biggest Jump Of The Week: Audrey Hobert - Sue me [+11]
Biggest...DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Alyssa Grace - bloodstream [-6]
Last year's #1 song: Sabrina Carpenter - Manchild (2/2 weeks at #1)

Least favorite song last year: Jessie Murph - Blue Strips
Most missed song: Dominic Fike - Mona Lisa (2023)
Recommendation for Hits 1: Ashe – Stop The Wedding!

7 debuts, we better get started.
First up, we have a collab between Karol G and Bruno Mars called Still, which is apparently Karol G's first ever English song. This song is quite boring and forgettable, and it's a ballad. At least Karol G and Bruno Mars sound good together. We already have enough Bruno Mars ballads on the radio. We don't need any more.
You didn't ask for more STELLA LEFTY? Too bad! You're getting more from her. Lean In, Kiss Me is alright. The country folk production is upbeat enough, and Stella sounds good, but this is just way too forgettable.
Anyone else remember UPSAHL, who had the most forgettable countdown song ever Summer So Hot back in 2024. Well, she's back 2 years later with I LIKE IT. Well the title does not lie. I like I LIKE IT. The production slaps and UPSAHL sounds great. Hopefully this can end up making the countdown.
Well it looks like Tame Impala is finally gonna get a follow-up to Dracula called Loser. The dance pop production is really fun and Tame Impala's unique voice is great as always. This isn't as great as Dracula, but this could end up growing on me more.
It's about damn time Hits 1 picked up on ADÉLA. I recommended one of her songs KGB a few months ago. Hits 1 has instead decided to pick up on Ain't In LA. This has some cool alternative electronica vibes and ADÉLA sounds good, but this is a bit too underwhelming and not nearly as great as KGB. Also, do the pitched down vocals at the start of the song and throughout the song remind anyone else of We Can't Stop by Miley Cyrus? Or is it just me?
We have new Alex Warren this week called RESCUER. This is basically just Eternity part 2. The production is slow, but it's still interesting, and Alex sounds good as always. Eternity took an eternity to grow on me, maybe this can grow on me too.
Lasty, we have more Knox, because we totally needed his 15th song on Hits 1. Apparently 4.3 Forty is some football term. This song has some cool alt rock vibes and Knox sounds good, but this is just way too forgettable.
Exits:
- ROLE MODEL - Joy [4]
- Temper City - Self Aware [2]
- JENNIE - Less than a Lover [2]
- DJ Goja/Jason Derulo/Melody - Mi Chico [2]
- STELLA LEFTY - Good At Leaving [5]
Self Aware and Mi Chico find themselves in the abyss. Joy deserved better. Less than a Lover and Good At Leaving were extremely mid.
2026 total dropouts: 129
Estimated total for 2026: 186 (-1)

Blurbs in LA:
We lost Risk It All, Homewrecker, Midnight Sun, Choosin' Texas, and Hold You. RIP to Hold You when it was just starting to grow on me. Choosin' Texas lasted way too long. Midnight Sun and Homewrecker were great but stuck around way too long. Homewrecker actually becomes sombr's second ever song to leave from #3, after 12 to 12 did earlier this year. Risk It All was starting to get old, but I'm kinda surprised it didn't stick around longer.
Luckily Orbiter seems to be flopping, so hopefully it will go away soon.
iloveitiloveitiloveit and Babydoll spending 20 weeks on the countdown and only peaking at #22 and #19 is insane. I guess these songs are becoming the next Diet Pepsi/Yukon.
Nice to see Sue me getting a huge 11 spot jump. This has grown on me a lot since it first debuted last year.
Edge of the Earth had a massive 10 spot jump. Okay, then?
Nice to see House Tour jumping into the top 10, even if this song is almost a year old at this point.
Nice to see Mr. Know It All reenter the top 5, even if it did get blocked from #1.
After 30 weeks, Dracula finally entered the top 3. I would really like for this to go #1. FEVER DREAM is starting to get kinda old.
That's all for now, see you all next week!

ReplyDeleteSince Self Aware is now in the abyss and it’s their first ever song (Similar to Ethan Burdick and Audrey Hobert), do you think they’re on their way to becoming our next 1TW? (Or ones to watch). I can see either them or Slayyyter getting it next
